Delaying still another 'show of strength' the USA is sending a message to North Korea, this should not be about war.

One of the parameters Kim Jong Un stated would be a reason for North Korea to continue it's own show of strength, is in reaction to any provocation. That is problematic by itself as it prohibits military preparedness by other nations, but, in taking that seriously the USA can provide proof it is not interested in being provocative.

America has delayed (click here) an intercontinental ballistic missile test to avoid stoking tensions with North Korea, as fears escalated that weeks of angry rhetoric could erupt into conflict on the Korean peninsula.

...A US defence official said Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel postponed the Minuteman 3 test at Vandenberg Air Force Base until next month due to concerns it "might be misconstrued by some as suggesting that we were intending to exacerbate the current crisis with North Korea".
"We wanted to avoid that misperception or manipulation," a US official said. "We are committed to testing our ICBMs to ensure a safe, secure, effective nuclear arsenal."...
The USA is not intimidated by anyone, quite the contrary. This delay clearly illustrates the leadership has confidence in the country's abilities and understands restraint to ensure national defense. Anything else stated otherwise is propaganda.
