Trump is defending his failures in protecting the American people...

...from COVID-19 by calling the response a responsible and good response. The response to the SARS-CoV-2 by Trump was never to prevent it, so much as "herd immunity." He has said the words "Herd Immunity" from the first days of the American awareness of the virus.

Trump never prevented the spread, he has always encouraged it and caused deaths when they could have been prevented.

The reason there is no vaccine to react to SARS-CoV-2 from the start is that it was never needed before now. SARS was controlled and limited to a double-digit number in the USA. There was never a need for a vaccine because these viruses were always contained.

The CDC was muzzled from the beginning. That is a fact.

In the early weeks of the US coronavirus outbreak, (click here) staff members in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention had tracked a growing number of transmissions in Europe and elsewhere, and proposed a global advisory that would alert flyers to the dangers of air travel.

But about a week passed before the alert was issued publicly -- crucial time lost when about 66,000 European travelers were streaming into American airports every day.

The delay, detailed in documents obtained by CNN, is the latest example to emerge of a growing sense of disconnect between the CDC and the White House.

In interviews with CNN, CDC officials say their agency's efforts to mount a coordinated response to the Covid-19 pandemic have been hamstrung by a White House whose decisions are driven by politics rather than science.

The result has worsened the effects of the crisis, sources inside the CDC say, relegating the 73-year-old agency that has traditionally led the nation's response to infectious disease to a supporting role.

Trump's economy was purchased with tax breaks.

This is a myth?

...Donald J. Trump paid $750 in federal income taxes (click here) the year he won the presidency. In his first year in the White House, he paid another $750.

He had paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years — largely because he reported losing much more money than he made....

...Brown, a Democrat, (click here) announced the security plan for Portland after the fatal shooting of Aaron Danielson, 39, on Saturday as Black Lives Matter protesters clashed with Trump supporters who drove in a caravan through the city. No one has been arrested in the case.

The rejection by the two sheriffs, elected as nonpartisans, increases uncertainty about Portland's future just as Trump puts the chaos in Portland in his campaign crosshairs as part of his law and order re-election campaign theme.

Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts said inundating the city with more law enforcement would not work because Portland's newly elected district attorney has dismissed charges against hundreds of protesters arrested for non-violent, low-level crimes.

Roberts and Washington County Sheriff Pat Garrett also said the liability for their deputies would be too great amid worries deputies could be sued for actions they take outside their home jurisdictions.

“The same offenders are arrested night after night, only to be released by the court and not charged with a crime by the DA’s Office," Roberts said. "The next night they are back at it, endangering the lives of law enforcement and the community all over again.”...

The Hunter Biden issue is debunked. The mayor of Moscow was removed because he was accused of corruption. His wife is very wealthy. The monies that were WIRED to the USA was to banks to invest in a computer company of sorts. There was never any amounts of money given to Hunter Biden. The company the Russians started end up in bankruptcy. There were vast amounts of money wired to the USA but it was for their won use.'

Veterans Affairs officials (click here) reported more deaths from coronavirus patients in August than any previous month of the pandemic, but department leaders dismissed concerns about the rising number of fatalities by questioning their own public records on the virus.

As of Monday evening, at least 2,935 VA patients have died from the sickness in the last six months, according to the department’s own daily summary of cases. About one in every 18 positive cases of coronavirus among VA patients has resulted in a death.

There were 820 patient deaths reported in August. About 490 individuals died from virus-connected conditions in July, about 380 in June, about 720 in May and roughly 500 in April and March combined, according to VA’s daily public releases on virus response....

The Trump administration (click here) on Tuesday rolled back an Obama-era law that pushes automakers to produce more fuel efficient vehicles, severely limiting a rule designed to decrease pollution from transportation in the face of climate change.

The new rule cuts the year-over-year improvements expected from the auto industry, slashing standards that require automakers to produce fleets that average nearly 55 mpg by 2025. Instead, the Trump rule would bring that number down to about 40 mpg by 2026, bringing mileage below what automakers have said is possible for them to achieve.

Trump's idea about consumer choice is a fantasy. They want SUVs and trucks.

The Trump administration has argued that cutting Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards will allow automakers to produce cheaper cars, something they say will save 3,300 lives as lower prices spur consumers to upgrade to new vehicles with better safety features that guzzle less gas than older models....

There is a good essay about White Supremacists at the Center for American Progress.

...There is little new in the ideas (click here) that underpin white nationalism, white supremacy, the alt-right, and fascism. At its core, white nationalism is little more than an attempt to cloak white supremacist ideas in the more respectable language of racial separatism, just as the alt-right has tried to repackage fascist thought in a more modern form. All these variants are built on common notions of a white identity and racial superiority. They promote hate and violence as valid political tools, rejecting values of equality, coexistence, and the rule of law in favor of raw power and ethnic division....

Trump's circus ends

WWMT of Western Pennsylvania is stating Biden won the debate by 53 percent of 2500 poll participants.

Good night.

Trump alluded to deaths within the military through health care, "Tri-care."

Tri-Care has a great deal of praise from the US military. Unfortunately, the last opinion survey ended with 2017.

TRICARE Inpatient Satisfaction Survey (TRISS) (click here) survey instrument incorporates the questions developed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) initiative. The goal of the HCAHPS initiative is to uniformly measure and publicly report patients’ experience with their inpatient care through use of a standardized survey instrument and data collection methodology. The information derived from the survey can be useful for internal quality improvement initiatives, to assess the impact of changes in operating procedures, and to provide feedback to providers and patients. Comparison of these data with the results from previous surveys as well as comparisons to civilian benchmark data will measure Department of Defense progress in meeting its goals and objectives of high quality healthcare....

To make a long story short..,

...the reason Republicans are allowing themselves to be cowed by Trump is because in exchange for power he does all their skut work to remove all the amendments to the USA Constitution including the 1st one.

The country would have to call for a constitutional convention to rewrite the Constitution. Coney-Barrett subscribes to that ideology at any cost.

The USA has been a successful democracy because of strong ethical standards but that has been eroded over years. Along comes a judicial philosophy by this nominee that attacks the majority rule of the US Constitution, not just the court, but, the vote.

The Chief Justice has been protecting the majority law within the US Constitution regardless of the extremists. Her attack on him was vicious and reprimanding to reduce his allegiance to the majority. He doesn’t subscribe to the counter-majority philosophy. Burger’s use of it elevated the individual without destroying the majority rule.

Within her philosophy the USA Legislature is diminished in its power. Basically, it is an anti-constitutional philosophy.

There is nothing wrong with exploring thought as an academic, it is the implementation that is grossly inappropriate. But, the politics of the extreme right uses it for leverage and is serious about their hate of “the other.” With Trump this philosophy is a runaway train that will destroy the USA. He is the friend of strongmen and communists.

There is a reason for advice and consent, but, the current Republicans are to scared not to allow a radical judge on the court.

This judicial nominee is a lot more than Roe v. Wade. There are too many Federalist Society members on the court.

Coney-Barrett is a crackpot. The essay she wrote that is being called the end of the ACA qualifies that statement about her.

For those interested, there is a profound oddity about "the thought" that comprises the ideology of "the originalist judge."

Her essay (click here)

She is a rudimentary anarchist that believes the legislature is a burden to most "sovereign individuals."

The two schools of thought about the US Constitution is arrogant as hell as if there legitimately exists two schools of thought, But, this is a good primer for the discussion.

The counter-majoritarian difficulty (click here) may be the best known problem in constitutional theory. The phrase is attributed to Alexander Bickel—a Yale Law School Professor—who is said to have introduced it in his famous book The Least Dangerous Branch: The Supreme Court at the Bar of Politics.  Whatever Bickel actually meant by the phrase, it has now taken on a life of its own. The counter-majoritarian difficulty states a problem with the legitimacy of the institution of judicial review: when unelected judges use the power of judicial review to nullify the actions of elected executives or legislators, they act contrary to “majority will” as expressed by representative institutions. If one believes that democratic majoritarianism is a very great political value, then this feature of judicial review is problematic. For at least two or three decades after Bickel’s naming of this problem, it dominated constitutional theory....

The United States of America was founded on the principle that citizens ruled themselves through representation elected by a majority.

The counter-majoritarian argues that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is an individual SOVEREIGN that is destroyed by the majority rule. All I know is that the Burger Court did a great job with counter-majority issues and the country is still standing.

But, understanding these two concepts of majoritarian and counter-majoritarian will begin a good discussion.

One other thing. She refers to returning to practices before the "Lochner Era." (click here)

Basically, the arrogant SOBs that make up the Federalist Society don't want to be bothered by government, they want anarchy so they can make their own economic schemes work regardless of the hardship of the people. Sound familiar? Trump wants to eliminate Social Security by 2023. What happens to the people? We will have returned to pre-FDR with a whole lot more people. They mean it. It is real. Coney-Barrett wants to make it happen.
