The CONtradictory values of the Regressive Republicans. Also Known As "being two-faced."

…House Speaker John Boehner (click here) will deliver the commencement address at Catholic University Saturday despite some unusually scathing criticism from a group of prominent Catholics who say he's failed on a key matter of faith: caring for the poor.

"Your record in support of legislation to address the desperate needs of the poor is among the worst in Congress," the group of 75 Catholic academics and community leaders wrote Boehner Thursday in a letter published by the National Catholic Reporter.

"This fundamental concern should have great urgency for Catholic policy makers. Yet, even now, you work in opposition to it," they said.

The signatories, many of whom work at the University, focused their criticism on the House Republicans' 2012 Budget, which passed last month and includes deep cuts to some social service programs….

While Speaker Boner is in tears at his speech to win sympathy for his exploitation of the American people while indulging the wealthy, a group of moral Catholics have spoken out on behalf of those that are not able to influence the wealthy or the majority Republican House.

...Mr. Speaker, your voting record (click title to entry - thank you) is at variance from one of the Church’s most ancient moral teachings. From the apostles to the present, the Magisterium of the Church has insisted that those in power are morally obliged to preference the needs of the poor. Your record in support of legislation to address the desperate needs of the poor is among the worst in Congress. This fundamental concern should have great urgency for Catholic policy makers. Yet, even now, you work in opposition to it.

The 2012 budget you shepherded to passage in the House of Representatives guts long-established protections for the most vulnerable members of society. It is particularly cruel to pregnant women and children, gutting Maternal and Child Health grants and slashing $500 million from the highly successful Women Infants and Children nutrition program. When they graduate from WIC at age 5, these children will face a 20% cut in food stamps. The House budget radically cuts Medicaid and effectively ends Medicare. It invokes the deficit to justify visiting such hardship upon the vulnerable, while it carves out $3 trillion in new tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy. In a letter speaking on behalf of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Bishop Stephen Blaire and Bishop Howard Hubbard detailed the anti-life implications of this budget in regard to its impact on poor and vulnerable American citizens. They explained the Church’s teachings in this regard clearly, insisting that:...

I have stated over and over and over how immoral the Republican Value System is regardless of their so called "Christian Base."  It is all about money and it always has been.  I hope the people of the USA will see through the war mongering and exploitaiton of USA Middle Class, treasure, talent, blood and its soul in order to give the Republicans an eviction from government in 2012.
