Polling six months earlier showed a real challenge from Greg Walden. I wouldn't be sure about his outcomes yet.

One-term incumbent Democrat Jeff Merkley was elected with 49% of the vote in 2008. He will be 58 years old in 2014. Merkley will run for a second term.

Senator Merkley also favors filibuster reform. Made in America Manufacturing Act is fine, but, Democrats in the House and Senate need to remind their electorate who supported The American Jobs Act and whom didn't.

PORTLAND -- U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) (click here) visited a Portland business Wednesday to help bring attention to the Made in America Manufacturing Act.
Merkley held a press conference at Am For Electronics, in North Portland, to call on Congress to pass the legislation, which focuses on boosting manufacturing in the United States.
The bill would give grants of up to $20 million to businesses for carrying out new manufacturing opportunities, including increased exports and expanded domestic supply chains.
The bill was introduced in January by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Merkley is one of its six co-sponsors.

Polling from PPP in December 2012 showed Merkley with an approval rating of 44-29 and

showed him leading Allen Alley (53-36),

Bruce Hanna (52-34),

Now if you ask me, Smith has half a chance. His credentials would bring attention to him if he makes it to Republican nominee. But, the fund raising may not be there. Open Secrets, org (click here) I also am not sure why he hasn't retained his Senate see either.

Greg Walden (47-42)

There is a good reason for lack of interest in Walden, too. He is an extremist that parses his words and lies like a rug. We all know there is no fairness for the Middle Class in anything with the name Ryan attached to it.

(WASHINGTON DC) - This week, Congressman Greg Walden is set to back a Republican (Ryan) budget that forces a $2,000 tax hike on the middle class while cutting taxes $200,000 for millionaires.
The new budget that Republican Budget Chairman Paul Ryan introduced last week cuts the top tax rate for the wealthiest Americans from 39 percent down to 25 percent and would have to end middle class tax benefits such as the mortgage interest deduction. For too many families in Oregon, $2,000 is the difference between being able to buy new school clothes for their kids and paying the mortgage – but Congressman Walden supports this budget, which will force hardworking families to pay more while giving millionaires a $200,000 tax cut.
