It is a little difficult to know what company is in Texas. It is not on the map with a multi-national company by the same name that is a chemical company.

Isobutyl.....?

Isobutyl Acetate? Yes?

CDC Isobutyl Acetate (click here)

"Vapour/air mixtures are explosive."

Pregnancy Risk Group: C

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE: The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour.

INHALATION RISK: A harmful contamination of the air will be reached rather slowly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE: The vapour is mildly irritating to the eyes and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the central nervous system . Exposure far above the OEL could cause lowering of consciousness.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE: The liquid defats the skin.

Jackson's Deer Processing is within stone's throw of this chemical plant? Are they crazy?

Ya know, the people taking their deer for processing are not high-end income folks. Okay? The majority. What does Texas think they are doing to people?

I am less concerned about Buffalo Steel Fabrication Plant, except, when the wind blows the wrong way. Long term exposure to what is in that plant is a concern for these folks.

Digging deeper is necessary to come up with this.

Well if that isn't enough confusion there is this:

? Atofina Chemical, Inc. ? Something is rotten in the state of ??? Denmark ???

I try very hard to be accurate. I don't like to give false information and have it cause problems in the year of cyber-critics. So. Given this level of oddity....hm?

Given no real explanation about such issues, let's just go with it.

The Beaumont, (click here) TX plant produces methyl mercaptan, ethyl mercaptan, dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and methyl mercapto-proprionaldehyde (MMP).  Beaumont is celebrating its 40 year anniversary in 2016!

2016? They move the plant? Subsidiary? Contractor?

Dimethyl sulfide (DMS) (click here) has been identified as the major volatile sulfur compound in 628 samples of surface seawater representing most of the major oceanic ecozones. In at least three respects, its vertical distribution, its local patchiness, and its distribution in oceanic ecozones, the concentration of DMS in the sea exhibits a pattern similar to that of primary production. The global weightedaverage concentration of DMS in surface seawater is 102 nanograms of sulfur (DMS) per liter, corresponding to a global sea-to-air flux of 39 x 1012grams of sulfur per year. When the biogenic sulfur contributions from the land surface are added, the biogenic sulfur gas flux is approximately equal to the anthropogenic flux of sulfur dioxide. The DMS concentration in air over the equatorial Pacific varies diurnally between 120 and 200 nanograms of sulfur (DMS) per cubic meter, in agreement with the predictions of photochemical models. The estimated source flux of DMS from the oceans to the marine atmosphere is in agreement with independently obtained estimates of the removal fluxes of DMS and its oxidation products from the atmosphere.

I've got this thing about containment. It is for good reason. Chemicals. Methane. All that stuff.

Dinoflagellates and coccolithophores? You mean the phytoplankton human beings should value above all else because they produce 60 percent of the atmospheric oxygen on Earth? Those dinoflagellates and coccolithophores?

Significant dimethyl sulfide (DMS) (click here) production is confined to a few classes of marine phytoplankton, mainly the Dinophyceae (dinoflagellates) and the Prymnesiophyceae (which includes the coccolitnophores). One hundred and twenty-three individual clones of phytoplankton representing twelve algal classes were examined in exponential growth for intra- and extracellular DMS (and its precursor DMSP). There is a strong correlation between the taxonomic position of the phytoplankton and the production of DMS. Although the Dinophyceae and Prymnesiophyceae predominate, other chromophyte algae (those possessing chlorophylls a and c) also contain and release significant amounts of DMS, including some members of the Chrysophyceae and the Bacillariophyceae (the diatoms). The chlorophytes (those algae possessing chlorophylls a and b) are much less significant producers of DMS with the exception of a few very small species. Other classes, including the cryptomonads and the cyanobacteria, are minor producers.

You mean to tell me this mulit-national company is about to pollute the marine environment in the Gulf of Mexico? You've got to be joking. No wonder it is in Texas.

Ethyl mercaptan is the stinky stuff in methane. Where else would it be produced by Texas? It has a very low boiling point. 95 degrees Fahrenheit. It most probably will explode on temperatures higher than that, especially in large amounts of a storage facility.

It is not benign to human beings.

Ethyl mercaptan (click here):
Symptoms
irritation mucous membrane; headache, nausea; In Animals: incoordination, lassitude (weakness, exhaustion); liver, kidney damage; cyanosis; narcosis

The explosive area is dependent on the amount stored in that facility and whether or not that is the ONLY chemical stored there. My guess is not. Tell the company to keep their garbage in Europe.

methylmercapto-proprionaldehyde (MMP) (click here)

...More than 60 % of the worldwide production volume of the substance is used as on-site intermediate. Approximately 35 % may be transported in specially designed railroad cars or trucks and to a lesser extend (ca. 5 %) ships to a limited number of industrial sites. The substance is transported in specifically designed strictly sealed ISO-containers approved according to international regulations on transport of dangerous goods. The German producer only transports the material to his own subsidiaries or to one of the other producers (Degussa, 2003a)...

Normally, these chemicals are benign in the ocean environment when released by phytoplankton. That release is at ocean temperatures and evaporates into the air. It is not dangerous under 'normal' circumstances. However, no different than any other naturally occurring chemical when human activity turns them into a product, there is danger that enters into such processes. Sometimes it's is dangerous to human health and in this case it is dangerous to it's release because it has such low boiling points. The products can be turned into something far safer than it is now. It is a shame the company isn't interested in protecting human health and the environment. This is ridiculous. These are well established chemicals. There is no reason for this level of negligence.

It is more or less a storage facility with some capacity to produce some of the products. IF THAT IS THE COMPANY INVOLVED. That fact is still unclear.

There are conflicting reports about the peace talks in Afghanistan.

Talks probably exist at lower levels of diplomatic engagement. I doubt the top leadership knows much about it yet, if at all. These demands show a Taliban that is eons different than the ones that provided a home to al Qaeda.

There is higher regard for women. The issues over land can be investigated and found to be true or false. It is a bit of good news to realize the warlords have turned legitimate so long as corruption wasn't brought with them. It is not unusual for a country so entrenched in war for so long (previous to al Qaeda's attack on the USA) to have different camps that have to find representation in a central government. If that is what has and is occurring, it could be the Taliban is the last of the tribes of Afghanistan to find their way into government representation.

— They accepted education for boys and girls at all levels, but wanted segregation by gender.

— Women could be employed in all fields, including defense and the judiciary, and they could serve as judges at all levels except the Supreme Court. However, the Taliban wanted constitutional guarantees that a woman could not be president.

— Special courts should be established to oversee thousands of cases that allege land was taken illegally by the rich and powerful in the post-Taliban era. Many of the land owners are former warlords who are now in the government. The Taliban wants the land returned to those from whom it was taken.

— Elections could be held after an interim government is established, with no one affiliated with past governments allowed to serve in the interim administration. The Taliban said all sides could keep areas currently under their control until voting is held....

It has been the view of the Afghan people the government first established by the USA was corrupt. The Afghan people are being careful to their elected officials. They don't want the return of corruption to their government.

I think the land issue has to be evaluated as well as investigated. Land should be used for homes for the people and used in the best interest of the people to bring them a functional central treasury. I think the land can fall back into the wrong hands for adverse use. That is where the central government has the interest to stabilize the country in its land use and homes for the people.

If the Taliban are to be returned to a governing interest in Afghanistan they have to prove they intend to be peaceful people. The Taliban needs to account for attacks on the people and their banks. The Taliban has to be willing to arrest the criminal element among them and submit them to trial.

I consider this good news. I think there is some ground to cover yet, but, it is encouraging. Women are very capable of providing a brain trust to Afghanistan and that should not be overlooked, prejudiced or oppressed.

August 27, 2017 is the earliest I have found of evidence of rippleless clouds in my records. NASA can probably do better.

The collection of water vapor to the left is the beginning of stagnant ripple-less clouds. The water vapor resolves to zero content and movement.

The information is not controversial. We know for a fact eventually Earth would enter into a greenhouse effect. It is long past time government in the USA pays attention and give up the 'easy fix' to employment in natural resources.

The real economy is illustrated in California with the life within cyberspace. The country needs to stop looking for jobs in drilling and forest devastation. Enough already. We can't keep doing this. Stop the politics of it.

Try the politics of the baseball caps. Okay? It may actually work considering folks understand sports and love sports. Moral vs immoral use of political baseball caps, etc. Go argue. I am sure everyone will figure it out.

If the climate crisis continues to be an argument, then use the fact today, the country is covered in fog. I have heard from many people all over the Midwest that there is dense fog and driving is dangerous. The Democrats now have a strong response to the presence of the Greenhouse Effect. I mean it. Knock it off.

Dense Fog Advisory issued August 30 at 1:56AM EDT until August 30 at 10:00AM EDT by NWS Gaylord

...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM EDT THIS MORNING... The National Weather Service in Gaylord has issued a DENSE FOG ADVISORY, which is in effect until 10 AM EDT this morning. * VISIBILITY...Dense fog will reduce visibilities to less than one quarter mile across parts of northern lower Michigan overnight through mid morning Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Low visibilities will lead to hazard travel conditions overnight through Wednesday morning.

January 1, 1901 Spindletop began the USA petroleum industry. Today, it has translated into the greenhouse effect.

For the past two days the temperatures across the country is more or less homogenous.

The USA needs to find permanent homes for the people of Texas. The Texas coast is toast.

I don't know where to begin to relay what I see. The 'tri-vortex' storms are actually four. There is one over Mexico trying to send out a storm into the Pacific without success.

The ITCZ (Intertropical Convergence Zone) is disturbed because it is a chronic feed for the "Storm Street."

The high-pressure system stabilizing Harvey is extending it's width. THAT width is allowing an extension of high pressure to the vortex over the northeast.

This is my hope. The high-pressure systems mixing within and around the low-pressure systems are closing in to 'pinch off' each storm from another. If that occurs then the water vapor feeds have to occur directly from the ITCZ and not each other, as if ascending stairs.

The first 'pinch' is occurring south of Connecticut and Rhode Island. It is nearly complete. However, there is another water vapor straw developing over Mississippi.

The vortex that looks like it is out of the Twilight Zone to the upper right is the real power system.

The reason 'my hope' is really unrealistic is because of the temperatures. They are homogenous under very thick clouds. STATIC TEMPERATURES = STATIC CLIMATE.

See, the issue are the clouds. They are very static. The reason? The water vapor that was on the surface of Earth 5 to 10 years ago is now thousands and tens of thousands of feet above Earth's surface. The 'new home' of water vapor has created "The Greenhouse Effect."

This cloud mass below Alaska has existed in its current RIPPLELESS condition for about five days. I should pull up a previous satellite. There is no movement. There is no "Arctic Oscillation." Not even the jet stream is disturbing this mass of water vapor. I am assuming the jet stream still exists.

There is another one exactly like this developing just north of it. These are all insulating clouds. Considering the last report out of the Arctic Ocean was ice in very poor condition that broke under the weight of scientists and their equipment when never before; it is safe to say, the Arctic Ocean is now water vapor.

We are starting to look like Venus, except, the chemical content is compatible with 'the habitable zone' around Sol.

The continental ice of Greenland and Antarctica still exist to some extent. If clouds like this continue, kiss the continental ice goodbye and sea level rise will be quick enough to daunt governments.

Without a real break all anyone can do is MANAGE water. The USGS and Army Corps in the USA are vital to these efforts. There is no building new infrastructure right now. The assessment to those possibilities isn't even realistic at this point. Water is unforgiving. There will be new water structures where it wasn't before. People need to find family and make connections to their love and acceptance. Seriously.

It is what it is. I look forward to autumn and winter. Let's hope the water doesn't turn into ice in places like the northeast.

KNOCK OFF THE POLITICS. It is preventing people from moving forward. Idiots.

Be grateful there are highly skilled and seasoned professionals as GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES!
