Mr. Jemenez’s story is very believable. All that has to be known is that the impending appearance of the children was truthful. A man, a father became concerned for children, probably of ethnic background, who would be crossing the path of ICE agents. He was unarmed and when he realized the agents did not want to hear from him he attempted to leave. His actions were wrongly estimated by the agents and they attacked an unarmed man.
This is the problem with Trump’s militarization of the streets in the USA. The agents are primed for confrontation and trouble. They don’t think twice that Americans may be upset in ways they don’t expect. The agents came across as a menacing presence and a man, a father attempted to give them a heads up about innocent children that might come into their visual field unexpectedly.
These agents are not putting the safety of the innocent first, they are acting on violent priorities.
