Santa won't be coming down the chimney tonight.

We are pulling for you, sir. I am sure the room is more than festive.

HOUSTON -- Doctors (click here) say former President George H.W. Bush needs to “build up his energy” before he can be released from a Houston hospital.
Methodist Hospital spokesman George Kovacik said in an email statement Sunday that doctors are still optimistic that the 88-year-old Bush will make a full recovery...

It takes more than an apology.

Somebody needs to check the draws in his desk at the Senate. What is his voting record on these issues?

DWI laws have gotten to be very tough in this country. Some states require driver's license to be suspended at the first offense.

In Virginia:
Once you are convicted, (click here) you'll endure another round of consequences―more serious ones.
A first offense DUI brings a mandatory fine of at least $250. Your driver's license will be revoked for one year, and you'll be required to install an ignition interlock device
I am sure Senator Crapo will not declare his innocence. I mean he isn't going to try to say a Virginia police officer didn't conduct himself right or something like that. It is very difficult to challenge the tests police provide as proof of the violation of the law.
Virginia lets folks off easy. In North Carolina, the first offense requires at least 24 hours in jail.

That "ignition lock device" is a real charm, too. It is expensive to install and to maintain. I have been told to undergo the "device" is nearly worst than revocation of the license.

Can Crapo actually function in the Senate or should he consider resigning. Oh, I know, this is simply too much Ho, Ho, Ho.

"W"rong.

It clearly illustrates a person whom represents the people of Idaho can't control himself when enjoying a holiday spirit.

You know, Crapo, you have to watch the petroleum industry. They throw you right into scandal. Good 'ole, Mineral and Mining Management. If the petroleum industry can't corrupt the administration anymore, I suppose Senators will do. It was a crony party, right Crapo? Any women?
Ruby Ridge is not the same thing. It is believed evidence was destroyed when that occurred. It is absolutely not the same thing. Ruby Ridge was an isolated encampment. This is high caliper weapons being turned on people from random places. There is no prediction to this. This is not Ruby Ridge. That is always something the Right Wing Gun Nuts draw on as an example of government overreach. That ain't it!

KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — When Sara Weaver (click here) saw her father Randy struck in the shoulder by a government sniper's bullet in the Idaho wilderness in August 1992, she began to sprint back to the family's cabin on a mountaintop called Ruby Ridge.
As the 16-year-old closed in, her mother, Vicki, opened the cabin door and stood behind it, holding Sara Weaver's 10-month-old sister in her arms. Just then, a sniper's bullet struck her mother in the head, killing her.
For the next nine days, the surviving Weavers holed up in the cabin while hundreds of federal agents laid siege in a standoff that helped spark an anti-government patriot movement that grew to include the Oklahoma City bombing....

Weaver was a victim of a rigid system and the mistakes it made along the way while others wrongly accused Weaver of illegal content in his life. The circumstances to that and to what is occurring in the USA today are vastly different. Any action by the government against violent anarchy leading to the death of innocent Americans has nothing to do with the dynamics of Ruby Ridge.

Protecting the Second Amendment is about living within the limits, not existing in the extremes. Americans should not live in an armed camp unable to carry out their lives.
Who believes this man knows anything about the Second Amendment and protecting it?

He is pushing an agenda that is bringing the USA to the brink of Marshall Law.

Anyone call that protection of the Second Amendment? I don't.

Poor man is scared he won't get his bonus this year.

The CEO of the NRA states nothing but misinformation. He cares little about the people of the USA.

He is a CEO. What else is there to say? Profits first, people dead last. Children are simply collateral damage to him.

He is attempting to water down the idea these shooters cannot be stopped. They can't. They kill themselves after they slaughter others. What weapon does a police officer at a school need to stop a gunman that can dismantle a locked and secure door with the very gun he used to slaughter children and their educators? The guy is as crazy as what is happening in this country!

Deepest sympathies to the families of the dead.

Exponential. Too many guns on the street. Firefighters? They save people's lives. What have we got another Branch Dividian mess or what? Firefighters arrest no one. This is ridiculous. Who is dead in the fires? What was someone trying to hide? I can't help but wonder if President Obama can tighten up the ATF rules/laws from the Executive Branch that would define some of these caches of weapons as illegal. It is the step before Marshall Law. Dead serious about that statement.

4 firefighters shot, 2 killed at Webster, N.Y., fire (click here)

Victoria Freile and Doug Stanglin, USA TODAY

A gunman shot and killed at least two firefighters responding to a house fire at a Rochester suburb early Monday.

Two other firefighters were in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds, according to a hospital spokeswoman, The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reported.
Fire Marshal Rob Boutillier said the blaze was allowed to spread to two other houses until the area is secured.
Webster police Chief Gerald Pickering said "one or more shooters" fired at the firefighters when they arrived at the scene near the shore of Lake Ontario. The attacker was still at large at mid-morning.
WHEC-TV reported that by midmorning firefighters were attacking the blaze, which had spread to three homes and a vehicle.
The gunman open fire on the first firefighters to respond to the call around 5:45 a.m. ET, striking one in the backside....
A SWAT team escorted some residents to a bus that took them from the neighborhood.

That picture is Main Street America with very Un-American events happening to it. Anarchy is not an option in the USA. We are a civilized country where people live in security and happiness. I don't call any of this happiness or security by any stretch of the imagination. Homes in the USA are not suppose to be armed camps to protect themselves from neighbors.

There is dense cloud cover over the entire country.

The troughs between the vortexes are high pressure, otherwise, the USA has low pressure systems dominating the weather.

But, to note, regardless of the cloud cover there is little to no precipitation.

The Southeast is receiving rain. It is directly under a vortex.

It is easier to see the weather on this map. The NORMAL standard for weather without precipitation is a high pressure system. That is not occurring here.

High Pressure Systems are not dominated by dense clouds cover.

The cloud cover in the UNISYS Water Vapor satellite above is where the water vapor is located in the upper troposphere. The precipitation is not reaching the ground.

Wet weather could turn severe by Tuesday night (click here)

“A strong storm system will be developing over the lower Mississippi Valley Tuesday, bringing widespread rain and isolated to scattered thunderstorms to much of north and central Georgia Christmas Day through Wednesday morning,” the National Weather Service said in a statement early Monday....

...“At this time, the main concerns will be isolated tornadoes as well as strong damaging winds in excess of 60 mph....

The Weather Channel Current Temperatures December 24, 2012      12:15 gmt

In the northern areas of the USA where snow has fallen in the past weeks, it was followed up by high temperatures. I have personally noted the subliming of the snow when the higher temperatures moved in over the snow. These are not high temperatures. The highest temperature at the time was 64 degrees Fahrenheit. The change was rapid, cold one day with snow and then warming up suddenly and the snow was gone, with no water runoff and dry roads.

The drought of the country is continuing.

U.S. Drought Monitor

Snow melts in the Spring of 2013 will not necessary refill reservoirs as this is the second year I have noted the sublimation of snowfall rather than water runoff.

The 'quality' of the snowfall is light and fluffy. High volume accumulation which contains significant amounts of air. The rapid change of air temperature literally penetrates the snow and vaporizes it. The snowfall is high volume and not very wet or dense. It doesn't stay around long enough to compact forming ice either. When vehicles run over it, it turns to ice. Even that ice is exposed to higher temperatures quickly and disappears simply because there is no residual coldness to support the ice. Basically, the snow disappears first, the ice is the only residual coldness and not supported by snow and the ice disappears quickly afterwards.

This outcome also reduces the white reflective quality of sustained snowfall to cool the troposphere. This is fact and can be validated by local weather reporting stations that provide traffic conditions and road conditions around the country.

The sublimination of the snow is noted in fog. Depending on the volume of snowfall it can be reported in the media as dense fog with low visibility.

Christmas Sky Show (click here)

Dec. 21, 2012:  Just when you thought Christmas was over: At the end of the day on Dec. 25th, a pair of holiday lights will pop out of the deepening twilight. Jupiter and the Moon are having a Christmas conjunction.
It’s a beautiful apparition, visible all around the globe. Even city dwellers, who often miss astronomical events because of light pollution, can see the show. Separated by less than 2 degrees, the bright pair will beam right through urban lights.
...But I heard him exclaim 'ere he drove out of sight,"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!"
