Mexican President Felipe Calderón's visit at the White House today will put U.S.-Mexico relations in the spotlight because of increasing tensions created by a violent and uncontrolled drug war in Mexico. The killing of a U.S. agent, the release of WikiLeaks cables and recent comments made by U.S. officials regarding Mexico's state of security have caused friction between the United States and its third-largest trade partner and southern neighbor.
"The point of the visit is to try to keep the relationship on track," said Eric Olson, senior associate at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars' Mexico Institute in Washington, D.C. "There have been a number of things lately that have upset the relationship, not broken it."...

The 'Border States' have an OBLIGATION to their Mexican neighbors and the other states of the USA to make 'guns of war' UNAVAILABLE for purchase.  Don't complain about gun violence and the Mexican drug cartels while there are guns stores with wide open policies and gun shows without conscience.  I don't wnat to hear it.  If the USA Border States can't modify their gun laws to reflect 'the times' we live in then they have no right to complain to the rest of the nation.

...The office of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' (click here)  is seeing a sharp rise in constituent calls since she was critically wounded by a gunman in January, perhaps because of saturation media coverage of her plight, an aide said. Her office is handling 23 percent more new constituent cases per week than it did before the shooting, according to C.J. Karamargin, a spokesman for Giffords. It seems that more constituents in her sprawling district of southern Arizona including Tucson now know about Giffords and what resources her staff can provide....

We don't want NRA wars in our country or Mexico anymore.  The Red States need to get their minds around the fact they are their own worst enemy.   They need to 'shape up.'
