The US Congress must return function to the International Criminal Court with a veto proof majority.

The Trump administration (click here) launched an attack Thursday on the International Criminal Court, which is set up to prosecute war crimes and genocide, authorizing economic sanctions against officials investigating or prosecuting U.S. personnel without Washington’s consent.

The decision to slap sanctions on court officials comes after ICC appeals judges authorized an investigation in March into allegations of war crimes by U.S. military and intelligence personnel, Afghan forces and the Taliban in Afghanistan.

President Donald Trump also authorized the expansion of visa restrictions against ICC officials and their family members....

FOX News has committed fraud during a very dangerous time for the country. This isn't just tabloid journalism. This is a fraud as propaganda to increase the fear of African Americans and support for police. Now, Trump wants to stop the International Criminal Court from proceeding in important work. There is something here that is very troubling and the US Congress must stop it. People are being hurt and killed and the tensions in the country has grown during a global pandemic. There is something very, very wrong with the relationship between FOX News and Donald John Trump.

After Rolling Stone first spotted a June 2 Fox News video report (click here) where the network selectively edited out police overreacting with guns drawn and handcuffing the wrong people in Los Angeles, now the network has been busted doing the same with photos.

According to the Seattle Times, on Friday Fox News’ website published digitally altered and misleading images to make the largely peaceful demonstrators in Seattle’s Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) look violent and dangerous.

One of the altered photos featured a man holding a military-style rifle in front of a smashed out storefront. But according to the Times, the image was actually two different photos — one from May 30 and the other from June 10 — and the armed man was superimposed in front of the broken window.

In another digitally altered image, Fox’s website used the same armed man and spliced his image with a photo of a sign that read: “You are now entering Free Cap Hill” to make it appear as though gunmen are standing at the zone’s entrance....

It is a hate crime.

A judge in Glynn County, Ga., (click here) ruled Thursday that three white men accused of killing a black jogger in Georgia in February will stand trial for murder, after a day-long hearing that revealed the shooter allegedly uttered the words “f---ing n-----” as the victim lay dying in the road.

William “Roddie” Bryan, who captured Ahmaud Arbery’s death on cellphone video, told investigators that Travis McMichael, 34, used the slur before police arrived at the scene, according to testimony by a Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent. In his closing statement, prosecutor Jesse Evans described a deadly game of cat-and-mouse as the defendants used their vehicles to corner Arbery before McMichael “gunned him down in broad daylight.”

The three men — Bryan, McMichael and his father, Gregory McMichael — were charged last month with felony murder in the Feb. 23 shooting death of Arbery, 25. The defendants face a minimum of life in prison if convicted on the murder charges, or more severe penalties of life with parole or death....

...“Who is it?” her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, (click here) said he yelled multiple times. When nobody answered, he reached for his licensed handgun.

The door burst open, and three men in street clothes rushed in, weapons drawn, Walker said. He fired a shot, striking one of them in the thigh.

The men responded with more than 20 bullets, eight of which hit Taylor, killing her. The men, whom Walker said he believed were intruders, turned out to be police who were serving a warrant at Taylor’s apartment in search of a suspected drug dealer. The alleged dealer, who police say once picked up a package at Taylor’s house, had in fact already been arrested by other officers at his house 10 miles away....

There is an aspect of this raid no one has answered. Where did the story come from? Where did the story come from about a drug dealer picking up a package at Taylor's house? The drug dealer was arrested 10 miles away. Where did the story come from about Breonna Taylor's home? A judge actually issued a warrant. Where did the story come from and where is the proof the judge used to issue the warrant? Someone is lying and a judge didn't care enough to realize it was a lie. There needs to be charges filed.

The end result is not known. Mass incarceration is not the end result.

"He did good, (click here) although it's always questionable, you know, in other words, the end result —" Trump said of Lincoln before Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner cut him off.

"Well, we are free, Mr. President, so I think he did pretty well," Faulkner, who is Black, said.

Harris Faulkner (click here) may be Outnumbered but she’s succeeding. The first black woman at Fox to host her own weekday daytime show, the journalist and mom has some strong words about being confident, being heard in the world and what she tells her daughters when it comes to both.
My 85-year-old mother has gone to the Catholic mass at her parish every morning for as long as I can remember. She can't do that now because of her age and a request by the Monsieur to only worship the mass online. She doesn't do much of the online stuff, but, she watches a Catholic mass every morning on television via cable. Today, in reaction to Trump's visit to the statue, they have included Pope John Paul II in their daily prayers.

"Smile for the cameras, honey."

Isn't the late Pope a saint now?

It is safe to say that Trump now has a new name, Beelzebub. He continues to use religion as a prop and the Catholics don't put up with it. It scares them. It is self-righteousness. It would be better if he simply "acted out" within the confines of his own religious affiliations. I am surprised no one has counseled him yet.

President Trump (click here) triggered sharp condemnation from top religious leaders for the second time in two days on Tuesday, with Washington Archbishop Wilton Gregory slamming his visit to a D.C. shrine honoring Pope John Paul II.

On Monday, Trump’s appearance in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church across from the White House set off a controversy because it involved aggressively clearing peaceful protesters.

“I find it baffling and reprehensible that any Catholic facility would allow itself to be so egregiously misused and manipulated in a fashion that violates our religious principles, which call us to defend the rights of all people, even those with whom we might disagree,” Gregory said in a statement as Trump and first lady Melania Trump arrived at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Northeast Washington....

China carries out an extraordinary effort to find every carrier of the virus, it is surprising this should occur, but, evidently, one person was missed. The other question is were there infected animals or animal products in the market? That would be a reinfecting and not a transmission by a carrier.

The Beijing authorities (click here) shut down a major seafood and produce market and locked down several residential complexes on Saturday after 53 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the city, renewing fears that China’s grip on the pandemic is not yet secure.

Nearly everyone who tested positive had worked or shipped at the Xinfadi market, a wholesale market on the city’s south side that sells seafood, fruit and vegetables, according to the Beijing health commission.

More than 10,000 people work at the market, which supplies 90 percent of Beijing’s fruits and vegetables, according to the state media. The virus was reportedly detected on cutting boards for imported salmon there....

Someone breathing over the salmon while cutting it? I doubt the salmon had the virus. Not every person that was found to have the virus purchased and ate salmon.

....China’s wet markets — where vendors sell fresh meat, seafood and produce — have come under scrutiny in recent months, because many of the first reported cases in Wuhan were tied to a seafood market there that has since been permanently closed. Epidemiologists have not arrived at a consensus on whether the market was the source of the virus....

Just because the market has been shut down in Wuhan doesn't mean the source is gone. The vendor that initially would have caused the first outbreak could have moved his sales to a different place. Wuhan is not seeing the outbreak because the contamination moved to Beijing.

...Of the seven people with symptoms, six had not left Beijing in the previous two weeks, officials said....

That is not an indicator either. They contracted it in Beijing, but, the transmission probably came from outside the city.

...The Beijing health commission said that at least three of the seven were employees of the Xinfadi market, including a 50-year-old purchaser for the market who was in serious condition and a 35-year-old salesman....

There is your contagion. Who did they have contact with as they purchased for the market?

It doesn't sound like this is an open consumer market, but, more similar to New York's Hunts Point Terminal Market where semi-trucks bring produce in from the country to be sold by suppliers into restaurants and local markets.

All the article states is that it is a coronavirus. I warned about this early on in that being specific is far more important. So, this virus in Beijing is SARS-CoV-2 and not another similar or different virus. Yes?
The Los Angeles riots occurred after the police officers were acquitted of charges. That isn't the way I remember it. But, it is the way it happened. My memory is that it is one timeline that occurred after the beating. I guess 18-19 years has a way of compacting memory. The trauma is one memory and not several over time.
