"Stolen guns account for only about 10% to 15% of guns used in crimes,"

I don't believe people think about what this means. It means Gun Shows are the most dangerous market supported by the Gun Lobby. That is what that means.

...Wachtel says (click here) one of the most common ways criminals get guns is through straw purchase sales. A straw purchase occurs when someone who may not legally acquire a firearm, or who wants to do so anonymously, has a companion buy it on their behalf. According to a 1994 ATF study on "Sources of Crime Guns in Southern California," many straw purchases are conducted in an openly "suggestive" manner where two people walk into a gun store, one selects a firearm, and then the other uses identification for the purchase and pays for the gun. Or, several underage people walk into a store and an adult with them makes the purchases. Both of these are illegal activities....

Gun Shows endanger lives. THAT IS A FACT, BY THE WAY. There is nothing SHOW about them. It is about money and all those additional lifetime members the NRA touts as important to consider are people intent on income from Gun Shows.

Why are there runs on guns and ammunition as they disappear out of gun shops and Walmart when legislation is about to take place?

Why, indeed.

These folks are purchasing very expensive weapons and ammunition. Weapons worth thousands and thousands of US$ and ammunition worth at least $2.00 per bullet.

Why? Do they actually believe they need that to defend themselves and their homes?

No.

They want to 'insure their stock piles' to sell when they want the money regardless of the law.

Does anyone actually believe the guns purchased on 'gun runs' will simply collect dust once the legislation is passed? These are collectors?

Not.

Get for real. These are legitimate purchasers that sell illegally.
