Senator Jack Reed will probably be mostly unopposed.

Three-term incumbent Democrat Jack Reed was re-elected with 73% of the vote in 2008. He will be 64 years old in 2014. Reed will run for re-election.

Rhode Island has very successful businesses that have been established a long time as their economic engine. What also shows through is a polished approach to politics. In this instance, Senator Reed has extended appreciation for a state official working for the people of Rhode Island. That means something to people. It is also providing recognition for leadership within the state for future Senators to be.

Today at the Rhode Island Coalition for the Homeless annual awards luncheon, U.S. Senator Jack Reed presented Sue Bodington, Deputy Director for Programs at Rhode Island Housing, with the 2013 Jack Reed Advocacy Award for her deep and abiding dedication to promoting affordable housing and combating homelessness in Rhode Island for more than 30 years.
“On behalf of all Rhode Islanders, especially those whose lives you have touched and improved in meaningful ways, I thank you for your distinguished service,” said Reed. “All of us who have come to know Sue throughout the years know that her commitment to housing the homeless and providing affordable housing was never in pursuit of compliments or awards. It was in the quiet and determined pursuit of helping others live with dignity in safe and affordable housing, and what a worthy pursuit it has been.”...
