Inside Notre Dame as fire swept through cathedral (click here for an article about fear and how the political right is infecting Europe)

My deepest sympathies to an enormous number of people feeling the pain of the fire at the great cathedral Notre Dame. President Macron is doing everything right and is trying to bring people together to resolve that pain and bring about a renaissance of this great structure. Everyone that loves Notre Dame and it's incredible history has a role in returning it to it's luster and purpose.

I am sorry to hear there are conspiracies floated in the cyber realm that is to create victims rather than the blessed that will rebuild the cathedral. I am most sorry these conspiracies are intended to effect the stability of Europe. I do believe that is their purpose.

I am sure the Pope will bring about a far more stable morality surrounding Notre Dame. In time, the conspiracy theorists will be made fools. The Catholic Church is a great church and Pope Francis a great pope. I am looking forward to his return to Notre Dame to celebrate mass in the future. Everyone should.

This is Madison East High School in Madison, Wisconsin. It exemplifies the problem with the treatment of girls.

All the allegations made are still a matter of process, but, the reaction by the school's safety director revealed a major mistake in addressing the trauma the school's girls are feeling right now.

This isn't about guilt or innocence, it is about the climate women find themselves when they are traumatized by sexual assault.

This is not about hate, girls, boys or assigning guilt. This is about the way sexual assault is discussed and how it is also dismissed that allows boys to believe they are above the law.

In this case, the people involved are still minors. I am sure the word of the alleged rape spread through the school like wildfire. What was the message the girls received when they turned toward their leadership in the school? They were told, they are vulnerable and basically, no one is terribly worried about it.

Girls and women don't want to feel as though they are the problem or that they own the problem because of their gender or that assailant(s) have a problem that is permissible because of their gender. The way this entire subject is discussed is wrong.

I do not want boys to believe they have a right of passage, as Kavanaugh did when he decided sexual assault was not in his vocabulary. I don't want girls afraid of boys in thinking they have to distance themselves in order to be safe. The entire engagement of sexual assault is wrong and has to be replaced with confrontation so both girls and boys know what it is and why it is wrong and that it is against the law.

When girls and boys begin to identify their sexuality, they should understand there is a social opportunity in that, but, also a responsibility. When administrators have to grapple with such issues when they occur, that is not a school system ready to put students and parents at ease. It is also not a school system that prepares their young people to know the responsibility of their burgeoning sexuality and that misconduct has more consequences than a week in detention.

Sexual assault is a serious topic for every girl, boy, parents, man and woman. It is not discussed nearly enough. If parents want to protect their young men or young women and their future, then do it before a sexual assault happens. No one has entitlement to satisfy their sexual dreams, especially when they are drunk, legally or otherwise.

The discussion is not happening and this is proof.

Madison - Madison East High Principal Michael Hernandez (click here) sent a message to the school community and staff Tuesday morning to apologize for a statement made by the district's safety and security coordinator in a News 3 Now story Monday night about an alleged sexual assault on campus.

Two 15-year-old boys have been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a girl in the bathroom.

When asked about the security of the building, Joe Balles said there are six security guards in the high school throughout the day, in addition to an educational resource officer during school hours.

The alleged sexual assault happened after school around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Balles said at that time there are usually two security guards on campus....

Today, the remarkable relic of Cold War brinksmanship is overseen by some of
the same commanders once tasked with potentially destroying America.

This is Putin's idea of international diplomacy and he has nuclear-capable jets in Venezuela. Trump is spineless and his money more precious than life.
Do I understand Trump held a rally in the Congressional District of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (click here) after making the initial hate tweet about her and then asserted more hate at her?

This action is provocative in a way that is known to danger the Congresswoman's life. I think since she can now file a lawsuit in her own district citing Trump's words and the actions of his followers, she should do so. Be sure to name those, no matter how they identify themselves, that have leveled threats against her in that lawsuit. I think she has a legitimate claim now that Trump is taking his hate speech to her home.

I might add, Trump has resources within his family's influence that can find the effectiveness of his hate speech. These statements by Trump are not benign of having intimate relationships with Muslim leaders of other countries.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar should know her freedom of speech does not mean she has to change her words in order to express herself. She might even cite some of the horrible language used by the Republicans in their districts and how it can inspire hate. If her expressions of her context seem disordered to other Americans, if it makes sense to her constituents, which I assume are her refugee family, as well, that are now Americans, then it is important speech.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar will find many at the United Nations offended by Trump's victimization of an Abrahamic religion, too.

She may be misinterpreted at times, but, Republicans are often apologizing for their speech and expression of context.

She should not be inhibited in her expression as a Congresswoman. Her context is her's to explain if she feels the need. Certainly, a disordered expression of any kind will effect her perception, but, that never bothers Trump or the Republicans. It might even be enchanting to those at the United Nations who pride themselves in being interpreters of disordered speech.

At any rate, the threats against her are designed to effect her behavior and her expression. That is Un-American. Those threats need to be dealt with in a real way and the danger to her person minimized. Sometimes peer review is helpful, but, if she finds it an arrest of her personal style and inhibits her true expression, then it isn't beneficial peer review.

Communication rarely is said to serve oneself, unless mental health is lacking, so to reach those she wants to reach she should feel free to simply express herself. If she wants to reach others that may be strangers or even friendly strangers, she might employ a speechwriter.

It may be taht politically correct or acceptable may not be her style.

Maybe explaining Sanctuary cites are best explained by the people most responsible for law enforcement.

The US House investigations and subpoenas are necessary because Trump, his family and the Trump Company have not been forthcoming in requests. Even requests that were accommodated to the Special Council investigations were not provided for the US House. If one is to understand the DOJ does not indict the president because of loyalty, then the US House is very powerful and is being denied it's processes.

Trump has no reason to make US House requests personal animosities toward Congressional members. That is a strategy he hopes is still viable for his re-election.

The strategy Trump uses is classic. Let every oppositional candidate ask for all the information in the world only to be found a fool for asking in the first place because Trump is an innocent man victimized by fame. It is all nonsense, especially when it applies to the government's role in oversight.

That strategy was employed when the AG delivered his review of the Special Council report. The AG played his part.

Before Governor Inslee announced his interest in the presidency, he proposed a public option for health care in Washington State.

Even better news is that Washington State recently passed the "Cascade Care" (click here) health care insurance.

Gov. Jay Inslee and Democratic lawmakers (click here) Tuesday announced proposed legislation for a new “public option” health-care plan under Washington’s health-insurance exchange.

The proposal, which Inslee said is the first step toward universal health care, is geared in part to help stabilize the exchange, which has wrestled with double-digit premium increases and attempts by Republicans in Congress and President Donald Trump to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.

“We are proposing to the state Legislature that we have a public option that is available throughout the state of Washington so that we can increase the ability to move forward on the road to universal health care in the state of Washington,” said the governor, who is considering a run for president in 2020.

Called the Cascade Care legislation, the plan would be offered in every county....

Notre Dame needs to consider placing the relics in a secure vault someplace in the cathedral. They can be visited regularly by a committee that recognizes them, validates their place and security. But, to leave them throughout the structure is not in good judgment.

The relics can be duplicated and displayed with the understanding the actual relics are within the structure, but, secure.

The artwork can be debated by those within the Notre Dame decision makers as to replication and security. But, to continue to believe they are secure simply because it is Notre Dame is not good judgment.

I wish all involved in the rebuilding and security of the cathedral much success.
