How many ballots are not downloaded. The Secretary of State in Mississippi needs to provide a complete report.

The old Mississippi establishment government needs to go!

A national civil rights group (click here) has filed a lawsuit against state officials over Mississippi’s absentee voting procedures, which “threaten to disenfranchise honest, eligible voters,” the suit alleges.

The suit, filed last week by the Washington, D.C.-based Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights in the state’s Southern District, seeks emergency relief on behalf of three Mississippi residents who will be away from home during Tuesday’s runoff election and intend to vote absentee instead. None of the three had received their requested ballots as of Nov. 20, stated the suit, which was also filed on behalf of the NAACP’s Mississippi chapter.

But according to Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann, computer records show that county officials downloaded ballots for two of the plaintiffs, William Sewell and Julianne Huber, on Nov. 17, the first day that those ballots could have been mailed out, the Associated Press reported....

President Poroshenko is not running for President in 2019.

Vitali Klitschko will be a great role model for Ukraine's youth, strong and committed to the success of their country. He is the candidate for the Peter Poroshenko Bloc, "Solidarity" (Pro-Minsk and Pro-NATO) that professes to be a Christian democratic party. I assume he is a good person and believes in diversity that encourages the Ukraine economy.

The Kiev mayor (click here) was one of the most dominant fighters of his era, and he says sport gave him skills he uses every day in his new career.

Before he became one of boxing’s most dominant heavyweight champions and even longer before he entered the decidedly more treacherous arena of Ukrainian politics, a teenage Vitali Klitschko led tourists visiting Kiev on excursions through the capital. He was 16 and it was his first paying job.

Thirty years later Klitschko, who was elected mayor of Kiev in 2014, is still making his pitch for the hometown dear to his heart with the enthusiasm of a bright-eyed tour guide. The city was the center of the sporting universe over the past week as it played host to Saturday’s Champions League finalbetween Real Madrid and Liverpool, rolling out the red carpet for tens of thousands of tourists, and Klitschko was front and center throughout, walking the streets and snapping selfies with the visiting hordes when not working to resolve the airport imbroglio that imperiled many ticket-holders’ flights....

Borys Kolesnikov is the Yanukovych Party, "Party of Regions" (click here) candidate. He is from Maripol. What a shame Manafort isn't there.

For several months (click here) American journalists have been competing to expose agents of Russian influence inside the new White House....

There are a lot of political parties, People's Front (National conservatism), Self Reliance (Anti-Minsk and Pro NATO), Radical Party (Anti-Minsk, Weighted NATO interest and Right Wing Populism), Fatherland (Anti-Minsk and Pro-NATO, liberal democracy), Svodoba (Anti-Minsk and Pro NATO, Ukrainian nationalism), For LIfe (Pro-Minsk and Anti-NATO, Social democracy), Revival (Developmentalism - a form of economic diversity), Opposition Bloc (Pro-Minsk, Anti-NATO and Russian minority interests), People's Will (Centrism) and Civil Position (Anti-Minsk, Pro-NATO, conservatism) . The strongest candidates should be competing for Ukraine's leadership that protects its sovereignty from Russian propaganda and infiltration.

The candidates should meet to discuss their interests and whom among them will be elected by the Ukraine people. The more political candidates there are the more the electorate will be divided and the easier it is for adverse candidates to rob democracy and freedom from Ukrainians. The candidates with a following should come to an understanding about their party's interests and BRING THEIR ELECTORATE to the Presidential elections endorsing the strongest Pro-Ukraine agenda.

Elections are about POLICIES that work to improve the quality of life of the people, free enterprise and NUMBERS of people that turn out to vote. In the USA, the Democratic Party committed itself to be a 50 state party. The success speaks for itself.

I wish the best to the Ukraine people to elect a President that will maintain their freedom and democracy. The new President should make a commitment to end the war at it's eastern border with strong diplomacy with the backing of NATO allies. The people should believe their country is strong enough to achieve peace. It should be Russia's fault, no different than the assault on vessels in the Sea of Azov or the abandoned Minsk and Minsk II agreements (click here), that diplomacy fails.

Gerrymandering Ukraine? Electoral Consequences of Occupation (click here)
By Paul D'Anieri
East European Politics and Societies: and Cultures, published August 9, 2018

The occupation of Crimea and part of the Donbas will prevent roughly 12 percent of Ukrainian voters from participating in elections. These voters voted disproportionately for candidates and parties that supported closer ties with Russia. This article quantifies the changes to the electorate and projects the likely partisan impact. The changes decisively tip the Ukrainian electorate away from the east and south. Candidates and parties can no longer expect to build a national majority primarily in eastern and southern Ukraine, as Viktor Yanukovych did in 2010 and the Party of Regions did in 2012. Anticipating these effects, Ukraine’s government could seek to prolong these voters’ exclusion, while Russia could actually seek to end the occupation to get them re-included. The implication is that various actors could try to “gerrymander” the entire Ukrainian state, a phenomenon that previously has only been explored at the district level, within states. This raises the broader question of how electoral effects shape the many territorial disputes around the world.

This closing was provably expected.

Canada could ask GM for a sales price if it has recruited other companies that would find the factory adequate to their purpose.

The General Motors plant in Oshawa, Ontario, where G.M. Canada has its headquarters. The plant once had 40,000 workers, but has recently employed only a few thousand.

General Motors (click here) said Monday that it planned to idle five factories in North America and cut several thousand blue-collar and salaried jobs in a bid to trim costs.

The action follows similar job-cutting moves by Ford Motor in the face of slowing sales and a shift in consumer tastes, driven in part by low gasoline prices.

The five G.M. plants will halt production next year, resulting in the layoff of 3,300 production workers in the United States and 3,000 in Canada. The company also aims to trim its salaried staff by 8,000....

If Russia wants to know why it's population is dropping it can start by limiting vodka sales to it's people.

Russian men and American Caucasian men have something in common, they are dying before the age of 55. Smoking and drinking to extremes will do it.

To be clear, the early deaths are due to the culture and oppression of a poor economy for decades. This is the result of communism and lack of development of their country. There are signs of Russian degradation at every turn, that is why the nationalism and the corruption in Russian sports.

Russian women live eleven and a half years longer than the men. (click here) The average longevity of men and women in Russia is 71.6 years a full five years shorter than their European counterparts.

It’s difficult to overstate (click here) how serious Russia’s alcohol problem is.

More than 30% of all deaths in Russia in 2012 were attributable to alcohol, according to WHO data crunched by the OECD. That’s by far the highest among the nations it tracked.

Russian drinkers die a variety of deaths. Alcohol poisoning. Cirrhosis. Accidents....

Trump is giving Ukraine to Russia. Maripol is a vital port to the people.

NATO needs to assist Ukraine to build a shipbuilding facility on the Sea of Azov. The Ukrainian gunboats need to offer protection to ships traveling to the port city of Maripol. The ship traffic to Maripol has diminished to less than 50 percent before the Russian invasion of Crimea.

Russia is building a bridge to Crimea and they are worried it could be destroyed by bombs set from vessels in the Sea of Azov. There is no reason for the Russians to believe that; it is pure propaganda without a basis for their fear. Ukraine has not been interested in blowing up bridges, so much as a return to peace. Russia does not share that sentiment. Russia wants encroachment to threaten NATO.

Now, perhaps, the American people can understand why Trump's visit to Europe and the secret meeting of Helsinki (click here) took place. Russia needs the cooperation of the USA to defeat the Ukraine government. The indebtedness Trump carries to Russia just doesn't seem to end.

NATO needs to station more jets in Ukraine as soon as possible. I see no real reason for the bridge to Crimea to stand. It is the first step in an assault against NATO, hence, the encroachment from all borders of NATO's members. There should be regular jet and ship patrols by NATO over and in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov. Those waters are important to Ukraine and NATO. Stop the encroachment and end the construction of the bridge and end the passage of Russian vehicles and military to Crimea.

Russia initiated this. NATO is simply protecting it's sovereign borders. It is what it is.

Seaports of Ukraine (click here)

Russia has fired on and seized three Ukrainian naval vessels (click here) off the Crimean Peninsula in a major escalation of tensions between the two countries.

Two gunboats and a tug were captured by Russian forces. A number of Ukrainian crew members were injured.

Each country blames the other for the incident. On Monday Ukrainian MPs are due to vote on declaring martial law.

The crisis began when Russia accused the Ukrainian ships of illegally entering its waters.

The Russians placed a tanker under a bridge in the Kerch Strait - the only access to the Sea of Azov, which is shared between the two countries....

Mississippi needs to get serious about it's future.

Mississippi is sadly removed from the loyalty to the rest of America. The state flag says it all. Hyde-Smith is as much a bigot as she is believed to be. She was raised as a segregationist and there is simply no doubt she is more of the old establishment and less of the future of the state.

Mississippians should be ashamed of their confederate identity. She should never be in the US Senate. I am surprised this is the reality of Mississippi in 2018. She is not qualified to be Mississippi's Senator. She is a segregationist and in that she is unable to discern the best interest of the people of Mississippi.

I don't know how many years I have cited Mississippi as the state with the deepest poverty in the USA. There is a reason and it is the Mississippi establishment. They have to be replaced. That won't happen as long as people are shrouded with the Confederate flag. This US Senate election can be the first time Mississippi takes a step forward rather than maintaining the old ways.

President Trump is only interested in numbers in the US Senate, not the people of Mississippi, otherwise, a change would have already occurred in a way that can be measured.

A top Mississippi Republican (click here) lawmaker has called on the Confederate battle flag emblem to be removed from the state’s flag.

Mississippi House Speaker Philip Gunn took a stand against the rebel flag imagery on Monday, the first time a state Republican has called for its removal, according to a report from the Clarion-Ledger.

But even after the groundswell of support for removing the rebel flag from South Carolina’s statehouse grounds after the mass shooting in Charleston, there has still been resistance among prominent Mississippians....

Mississippi has been locked in poverty for decades. The Mississippi establishment must be rejected going forward when elections raise the opportunity to change the course of Mississippi.

Donald Trump's Motto, "Talk is cheap."

I ran across this article and it cleared up the picture of Donald Trump. He sells his "brand" for cash flow because he can't get funding from USA sources. He attaches himself to any project because he can't lose, especially the way his lawyers produce the paperwork.

In November 2007, (click here) The Wall Street Journal infuriated Donald Trump with an article that dissected his recent real estate setbacks. Headlined “Stalled Condo Projects Tarnish Trump’s Name,” the report raised doubt about what the mogul treasured — and banked on — most in business: the value of his personal brand.

Trump responded with a 512-word letter to the editor. Calling the story “one of the most ridiculous I have read in many years,” he complained that it ignored his “tremendous successes with massive projects” and instead focused on “small jobs” in the Florida cities of Tampa and Fort Lauderdale. He dismissed both as licensing deals “for which I am not responsible for development.”...

...A New Jersey real estate broker named Roman Osadchuk introduced them to executives at the Trump Organization in May 2004. From there, things moved rapidly....

Trump was touting his Signature on a property that had no funding. Yet, due to the buyers of the condos yet to be built, Trump was collecting his fees.

...The $220 million tower was touted in a press release as a “Donald J. Trump Signature Property” — an “ultra-luxury” building featuring concierge and valet services, a fitness center and spa, a fine art collection, and “imported marble floors with inlaid onyx highlights.” Its 190 condos would command prices ranging from $700,000 to more than $6 million....

Trump could easily lie and deceive the public and potential buyers because there was a clause in the contract that no one could release THE TRUTH to the people that Trump had not spent a dime on the project. Trump HOPED that if there were enough committed buyers the funding for the building would come in. It never happened.

....Those sales were achieved with the help of some deception about Trump’s financial involvement. During his February 2005 appearance in Tampa, he told the St. Petersburg Times reporters that he already held “substantial” equity in the project and wanted to boost his stake, but his partners wouldn’t let him because “when they’re selling that well they don’t let you do that.”...

No one in the Trump organization ever bothered to check out the viability of the project.

...That was less than certain. In testing the ground at the site, the developers had discovered the terrain was too soft to support a 52-story building without tens of millions in extra foundation and design work. In March 2006, the project’s general contractor, a prominent national firm, dropped out....

...The Trump Organization monitored the situation closely. At one point in 2006, Diamond advised Donald Jr., Ivanka and Cremer that Deutsche Bank is “the only game in town.” But that didn’t come together either....

...Related proposed tough terms to rescue the venture, including a provision that would eliminate the Trump Organization share of the profits and replace it with a fee for each condo unit sold.

Donald Trump Jr., 28 at the time, was furious.

“I hate related,” he wrote a Trump Organization colleague on Sept. 9, 2006. “this is b/s. I do not think we could have been more clear with these assholes less than 3 weeks ago and they are already back to the flat structure nonsense and connot consider giving trump a piece of the backend,” he vented to in-house attorney Diamond. “They must think we are the dumbest people on the fucking block.”...

The project was failing and this was the response the owners of the property received, "I hate related..."

The branding became the only viable solution for the company since they could not get funding anywhere in the USA.

...There were larger considerations to weigh, Donald Jr. noted. “I cannot stress enough the importance of not having any failures this early in the process of building up the licencing model,” which had emerged as the Trump Organization’s strategy.

Bad publicity was another. Forbes magazine was preparing a cover story on “The Real Apprentices” — how Trump’s children were faring as his prospective business successors. A failed deal on their watch would damage the narrative.

Wrote Donald Jr.: “With the Forbes piece underway and prob on stands in the next few weeks we will be under scrutiny more than ever and this presents us the opportunity to not only salvage a bad press situation but to potentially turn it inot a great thing for tyhe model if it makes sense. I.e. Trump saves the day…we will however have to do some real number crunching to see if it is in fact viable.”

On Oct. 2, Diamond emailed Ivanka that “either we swallow hard on the License Fee or take over the job, the latter being the least desired alternative.”

Ivanka, who had just turned 25, had another idea. She began talking up the Tampa deal to Wood Partners, a Georgia development firm she was working with on a massive planned “Trump Towers” project in downtown Atlanta. (That development never became a reality.)...

...The Riverside property was foreclosed on in 2009, then sold in 2015 for $12.1 million to a local developer, who announced his own plans to build “an iconic” 50-story tower — “the best building ever built in the Tampa market.”

Today the site remains vacant, a weedy, fenced-in lot along the Hillsborough River.

It all fits. Yes, this is ONLY ONE PROJECT, but, the methods of handling their business were based in impropriety, hidden clauses the buyers never had the privilege of seeing and lack of simple vetting of a project before embarking on a project. That is a business model the Trumps used in their day to day activities.

These are the stories I find to be very sad. Instead of reassessing their future success, the Trumps decided to sell the "Trump" name as a method to wealth.  It could have been legitimate, except, it was corrupt. When wealthy people can't come to terms with a loss of income that buoys their status, they turn to corruption and foreign interests that allow money laundering by purchasing American land/interests for far more than the purchase is actually worth.

Donald Trump has a false identity that carried him into the White House. That is a problem for the country because he also brings his taste for corruption with him. I think Donald Trump has a lot of bad habits, including, destroying the infrastructure of the Executive Branch of the USA government and replacing it with people loyal to him that are unqualified for the job, ie: Whitaker. The number of federal employees on unemployment is troubling.

...Director Michelle Brane (click here) recently tweeted, "This is the guy who managed CBP, the agents that separated kids from their parents, the agents who told parents they were taking their child to give them a bath, the agents who did not keep track of who they were separating." She added, "Not qualified to run anything."Although Vitiello admitted he was surprised by the backlash generated by the family separation policy, he and the Trump Administration are planning to rollout another family separation policy that would force parents to choose between sending their kids to shelters or being detained together indefinitely.

This would serve as a loophole to avoid a court agreement that helps immigrant minors from being detained for more than 20 days.

Now is that a loophole? The judged ordered children cannot be detained longer than 20 days. I would imagine that means with or without their parents. And, what is that indefinitely mess all about?

When asked what he would do to avoid repeating the mistakes of the family separation crisis, his response was vague. He said officials should have been more communicative with the public about the process. No specifics or apology was given.

Vitiello is still awaiting confirmation from the Homeland Security Committee before going to the full Senate.

Do not use tear gas on children!

JAMA Pediatrics (Journal of the American Medical Assiciation) , March 1972, “Toxic Effects of Tear Gas on an Infant after Prolonged Exposure.”

LOOK IT UP!!!!!

The longer it takes for Trump to process the migrants through the USA process the more problems will occur. The Tijuana mayor is asking for humanitarian aid, people trying to survive will become agitated seeking relief. Does Trump what dead children in his hands?

Closing the USA Border was a huge mistake because it caused people to panic when there was no movement forward!

Bright swaths of red in the upper atmosphere, known as airglow, can be seen in this image taken from the International Space Station. NASA's ICON mission, with a planned launch for the summer of 2017, will observe how interactions between terrestrial weather and a layer of charged particles called the ionosphere create the colorful glow.

Green waves of airglow over Alberta, Canada.

I find the orange color of the air glow in Australia rather unusual. I think orange air glow is rare actually. Now, methane will burn orange if it doesn't have enough oxygen. The only other chemical that I am aware of that will burn orange is calcium chloride, but, it is a solid and not a gas. I haven't read anything about what gas in the southern hemisphere is burning orange instead of the expected usual hues.

On October 7, an astronaut aboard the International Space Station shot this photograph while orbiting at an altitude of more than 250 miles over Australia.

...The photo, (click here) taken over Australia, shows part of the ISS in the very forefront of the photo from where the photo was taken inside the station. Millions of stars are visible in the background past the Earth and the Earth below is indicated with a curved line along the horizon and more dim lights on the landforms and clouds below.
The airglow gave researchers some insight into how the atmosphere works, according to NASA. It can be useful to scientists because it gives them information about the way the particles in the atmosphere interact between the Earth and space. This can reveal findings about Earth and space weather as well.
Research into this part of the Earth and space is often done through the data from satellites but photos like the one from the station can also help researchers find out more about the part of space....
