What did I say about the temperatures across the nation regarding Sandy?

Didn't I say there was no residual coldness in the Arctic Ocean to continue to cool the air mass over the USA while a hurricane of warm temperatures and velocity was approaching?

Didn't I state that?

You ready to open your eyes to THE TRUTH, we have a Climate Crisis?

Now.

What did I say about the history of the path of this storm?

Did I say it was a history of death and destruction?

You ready now?

Sandy is a deadly storm. This storm is going to cause a disaster after disaster after disaster.

It needs to be taken seriously all the way into Ohio and Michigan.

There is nineteen and a half hours between these images. The temperatures changed far too rapidly to allow this to account for anything but a very hot planet and human induced global warming.

We have a Climate Crisis.

Are Teacher Unions doing their jobs?

Yeah, they are. In Florida alone they have stopped illegal laws governing teacher evaluations. Now, they are breaking the wall down for Florida to take responsibility for teaching supplies.

...bobman15: (click here) I hear a lot of people slamming teachers unions because of how easy it is to get tenure and how hard it is to fire bad teachers. Are they correct or not and why?
Teacher unions represent teachers. And it’s management (e.g. principals, school boards, superintendents) who hire and evaluate teachers and grant tenure – not teachers unions…Tenure should be about fairness and not an excuse for managers not to manage or an inadvertent cloak of incompetence....
Scott didn't take this point of view without a strong nudge from the Teacher Unions.

...Gov. Rick Scott wants all Florida teachers (click here) to get state-funded debit cards they can use to purchase school supplies many now pay for with their own money.
The debit card proposal -- with no specifics on how much each teacher might have to spend -- is one of several Scott officially announced this morning in a speech in Fort Myers. He used the speech to explain the education part of his agenda for the upcoming 2013 legislative session.
Scott said in a statement that he will be pushing lawmakers to maintain current spending on public education and "also working to increase our investment in education," if the economy allows....

The Defense Budget of the USA is a burden to the citizens. It is out of control.

...But the thing Obama (click here) said that seemed to resonate most across the Twitter verse was an observation about the sheer magnitude of the defense budget. "We spend more on our military than the next 10 countries combined; China, Russia, France, the United Kingdom, you name it. The next 10," Obama said.

That's true, but it also understates the case. The Peter G. Peterson Foundation, an advocacy group for a more fiscally responsible federal budget, noted Tuesday that the United States spends more than the next 13 countries combined. The chart above tells that story at a glance....

Romney's supporters are opportunistic venturists. They aren't business men or women.

Just like the "Queen of Versailles" Time Share boss. They are hooked on liquidity/cash flow/wealth and don't really care about investing in long term sustainability of the USA economy. It is everywhere with Romney.
...When Mitt Romney assailed Americans (click here) who he claimed don't pay federal income taxes during his infamous 47 percent rant in May, one of the guests in the room for this intimate Boca Raton fundraiser was a convicted tax cheat who had gone to jail for failing to pay a quarter of a million dollars owed to Uncle Sam.
James Batmasian, an influential Florida developer and philanthropist, was among the well-heeled crowd at this $50,000-a-plate dinner, which was held at the home of private equity mogul Marc Leder. According to his wife, Marta Batmasian, a member of Romney's Florida finance committee, her husband had attended as her guest after she was "invited for being a donor at the required level." Weeks before the event, she had contributed $50,000 to the Romney presidential effort....

The sponsor of the dinner party is known for his wild orgies. I heard an interview with Romney and the question came up, "What do you like to wear to bed?" There were some chuckles, but, then he responded, "As little as possible." You have to wonder. It rolled of his lips so easily and with pride because his wife was sitting next to him, it just seemed so natural for him.

Batmasian forecloses on Talbott properties (click here)

Date: Friday, July 23, 2010, 6:05pm EDT - Last Modified: Saturday, October 16, 2010, 3:23am EDT
James H. Batmasian, one of Boca Raton’s largest landowners, is filing multiple foreclosures against another of the city’s largest property owners.

In May, Batmasian bought four problem loans that Boca Raton-based Paradise Bank made to developer Gregory Talbott. He also secured a $4.5 million mortgage from the bank to support that purchase.
It didn’t take Batmasian long to decide what to do with those loans.
On July 15, Batmasian filed three foreclosure suits against Talbott – bringing the troubled developer’s foreclosure tally up to 14 properties.
The largest case was against Talbott personally, and his wife, over a $3.2 million mortgage. Batmasian wants to take over their 3,000-square-foot, waterfront home at 541 Kay Terrace....
Egos and power. I can hear the discussions at Thanksgiving. "So tell me son how many homes have you foreclosed on this week? What is your cash flow like? Don't you just love the lifestyle, it allows you to love the trees of Michigan which are the perfect height. Not everyone can appreciate that fact."
So, let me get this right. Batmasian buys four foreclosure properties while getting $4.5 million to mortgage the properties and then turns around and uses his new found liquidity to foreclose on more of the properties.
If that isn't enough the ego trip regarding the Talbott home is outrageous. Batmasian wants to be the largest property owner in Boca. That is what this is all about. These folks have egos that are NOT contained by shame. No different than the Versailles home. It is all about egos. They don't care about other people. They don't care about each other, they just gloat in each other's company. They are like Romney. He didn't care about people. Besides closing businesses for his cash flow, he walked all over the neighbors in California objecting to the renovations to the home with the car garage, the statement "Those people are not my job.", the son angry enough to punch the president in the nose, lying for convenience and expecting everyone to see past the lies to enjoy the victory. It is all about egos.
I don't trust him. He hasn't got good judgement. He does not understand this nation. He loves everything. Sure. Trees, people, women, the Middle Class. You know I never heard him say he loves dogs.

When the rest of Wall Street comes to realize they need to manufacture in the USA, things only get better.

We do not need Republican ideology to recover our economy. We are doing well only four years out from the worst economic collapse since the Great Depression.

...Gross domestic product, (click here) the value of all goods and services produced, rose at a 2 percent annual rate after climbing 1.3 percent in the prior quarter, Commerce Department figures showed today in Washington. The median forecast of 86 economists surveyed by Bloomberg called for a 1.8 percent gain.
“We are encouraged by the improvement we’re seeing in consumer spending and housing,” said Dean Maki, chief U.S. economist in New York for Barclays Plc, who correctly forecast the rate of growth. “These will be dominant themes in the fourth quarter too.”...

Correct. This is a dangerous storm.

The North Carolina coast has already received three days of rain. It is not expected to clear for at least another three days if Sandy continues its current path. It is a whole lot of water.

Regardless of its official category, Sandy is expected to be a monstrous storm that poses a serious threat for the entire Eastern Seaboard (click here)

Hurricane Sandy is setting up to become an “unprecedented” storm that could leave millions of people in the northeast without power for days or even weeks, experts said Saturday.

“This storm will affect millions and cost billions,” AccuWeather forecaster Marshall Moss told the Daily News.

“This is really going to be a huge storm and something unprecedented in meteorological terms,” he predicted.

Emergency preparations were already under way in the city, with the MTA considering a total shut down of buses and subways if worst predictions hold when the storm blows into the region late Sunday. City officials were mulling the evacuation of as many as 375,000 New Yorkers.

Experts say the storm shows no sign of slowing its current northward track up the Atlantic, and its impact will rattle states along the Eastern seaboard from Florida to Maine....

Voter equity. The laws in Michigan encourage the use of Voter ID in local polling, but, it also provides for a safety net.

The signature of the voter is proof positive of the validity of their vote. There is no chance a signature can be forged at the polling station. The signature is witnessed by officials pledged to carry out a legal election.

I don't think picture ID matters so much as signatures as a record or a fingerprint. Photo IDs can be manipulated before the person places their ballotFingerprint or signature at the time of the balloting can't be manipulated. Signatures at the time of balloting is a legal record.

Photo IDs presented at the time of balloting leaves no record of the proof. It seems to me photo IDs for balloting would encourage ID fraud and not deter it
because it does not provide a permanent record. To require both photo ID and signature is redundant and burdensome.

If the states are worried about ballot roles due to the deceased and/or imprisoned persons issues then they need to formulate a solution that actually works to target those registrations. Simply purging should be noted to be manipulation to effect the vote.

The finger print is absolute proof of the person placing the vote whether or not they are committing fraud. It also places an identity that is traceable. It has its own problematic implications though. Fingerprints are serious proof of location and identity it is frequently objected to as a method of identity in transactions. Transactions, whether they involve financial or otherwise is considered an economic transaction and not a criminal act. So, the fingerprint carries brevity that other forms of ID such as a signature does not.

What to Bring

Make sure you bring your Michigan driver’s license, or a Michigan personal identification card.

If you do not have either of these things, you can show any of the following forms of picture identification as long as they are current:
  • Driver’s license or personal identification card issued by another state.
  • Federal or state government-issued photo identification.
  • U.S. passport.
  • Military identification card with photo.
  • Student with photo – from a high school or an accredited institution of higher education.
  • Tribal identification card with photo.
If you don’t have a photo ID, then the voter can sign an affidavit attesting that you’re not in possession of picture identification.
For first time voters, make sure you bring one of the following:
  • Current and valid photo ID or
  • A valid paycheck stub with your name and address, or
  • Utility bill with your name and address, or
  • Bank statement with your name and address
  • Government document that lists your name and address.
If you have additional questions about voting in Michigan, please contact the MI Secretary of State at (888) SOS-MICH or see here

I swear security details need police escort.

Many cautiously prepare for Sandy. There is nothing wrong with preparedness.

All it takes is one severe storm running through the area any time of year and electrical power will be down. So, having at least one shelf in the kitchen with food, water, a flashlight and working batteries is always a good  idea. I did say shelf and not refrigerator shelf. If the electricity is out, after a time, the refrigerator will not do anyone any good.

On my shelf I like to keep at least one container of Parmalat. I suppose dry milk like Carnation is okay. That kind of stuff. I will use most of everything on that shelf at least every two months and keep a rotating supply. I don't purchase by the case of anything. It is wasteful to throw things out as they expire and aren't used. Besides this is 2012, I would expect help to arrive within a reasonable period of time if needed and I do have neighbors within a walking distance. So, no one is ever completely alone. Unless. Of course. One is a survivalist / Prepper and lives 60 feet underground.

Important steps New Yorkers should take to be prepared for a storm

I always find some humor in Preppers. They are good people. They are very smart people. They study ideas that are important to them alot.

What surprises me about their thinking is that it is incomplete.

They have their shelters in case of all kinds of problems including nuclear detonation. They believe six months is a good time for having enough supplies on hand in their shelters. Well. If there is a nuclear detonation and one is underground with an air supply to the surface it won't make any difference.

Now, think about this. Being in a place where one survives nuclear detonation only to run out of supplies for living in six months.

Hm.

Will the surface be safe after six months to actually survive or is there simply a postponement of the inevitable?

Below ground living isn't smart if there is a flood. We don't have gills.

Preppers should put their time, energy and money toward living and surviving. They should also be stomping Washington, DC for non-proliferation. "Trust but verify."

A man sits in front of his house, on debris left by a flood caused by heavy rains from Hurricane Sandy in Gran Goave, Haiti on Friday (click here)

This man in Haiti was not a Prepper. He lived to say he saw the devastation of his home. He also knows help will be coming.

I hope Sean Penn is okay. He spends a lot of time in Haiti. He is a remarkable person. He may even know this man. An elderly man such as this is so fascinating. He has seen and survived so much. People of the Third World have wisdom about their world.

I understand Mr. Romney is lying again. Entertain this. Not lying, but, LOST.

...“Let’s set the record straight: (click here) Jeep has no intention of shifting production of its Jeep models out of North America to China,” Ranieri said. “It’s simply reviewing the opportunities to return Jeep output to China, for the world’s largest auto market. U.S. Jeep assembly lines will continue to stay in operation.”...

Yes. Lost.

This is a Chinese Concept Jeep.

We've seen (click here) before how companies in China can take a radical concept design never meant for mass production, modify it a bit and offer it for sale. The latest evidence of such activity can be seen in the Jeepzter. Ostensibly a replica of the Jeep Hurricane concept from 2005, the Chinese replica does away with the dual 5.7L HEMI V8 engines for a single 650cc unit. That lone powerplant sits up front and powers the rear wheels, not all four like the concept. Of course, it goes without saying that the ridiculous turning ratio of the Hurricane has been lost in transformation, as well.

It has always been my contention that outsourcing from the USA was never a necessity so much as building the culture of consumerism within China and India or any other developing country such as Iraq.

When Jeep Corporation states it is investing in China, it is doing what it should be doing as a 'smart' corporation with recognition of its strong consumer base in the USA. It is not simply using Chinese labor as slave labor IN SERVICE to the USA consumer while impoverishing the American work force with low, subsistence wages. Not at all. Jeep is actually building consumer products 'in demand' in China.

I hope this is the new model of the Chinese government. Such a consumer base will help China secure its economy without RELYING on USA consumers to insure its economic outcomes. In other words, what happens in the USA with well paid workers and an increasingly strong consumer base can happen anywhere in the world. Why can't the Chinese build cars for the Chinese?

Where Mr. Romney FOLLIED today, was to make example of a company very different in philosophy, ethics, morality and profit margin than Bain Capital and its vulture capitalism.

JEEP doesn't hate USA labor, it embraces it while BUILDING NEW MARKETS for goods in countries such as China.

See, Mr. Romney never worried about preserving jobs in the USA. Today, he ASSUMED the CEO of Jeep would be shunning more investment in USA labor and find the 'cheap labor' in China more attractive, but, that isn't what occurred.

Jeep is building a consumer base in China while encouraging new products the Chinese like and want and having them build the product. The consumer base in China and the USA is safe from each other, when both populous are well employed and participating in their economies.

In all honesty, when Jeep's model is followed both economies are secure without any real need for competition except what occurs between manufacturers within the sovereign borders of each country. China and the USA does not have to compete for each other's markets when they each have their own WITHOUT outsourcing.

This is the concept car for the Jeep Wrangler.

The 2008 Jeep® Renegade Concept is a sporty two-seater that is just as equipped to navigate a winding off-road trail as it is to turn heads on the auto show circuit . With its stand-alone, cut-down windshield and doors with their lower sections cut out, it's a minimalistic, eco-friendly approach to having maximum fun. Plus, it combines a lithium-ion battery pack with and a small-displacement BLUETEC diesel engine, which together help the Renegade achieve a fuel economy of more than 110 miles per gallon.
Outsourcing is NOT MANDATORY for every CEO that seeks to make higher dividends to stockholders. That is what Jeep is saying. It is not necessary to chose to build cars in China that Americans want. Both the Chinese markets and American markets can exist with their own cultural icons. They don't have to mix. There are European cars imported to the USA everyday, but, that doesn't mean manufacturing in Europe has to be outsourced to make that happen.

Mr. Romney likes power. He likes to use it. Like he said, "Those people are not my responsibility." He was referring to those losing their jobs with plant closures in the USA. Mr. Romney is only correct in stating that for one reason. And that reason is if there is no need for employees anymore after the company was scavenged for plenty of money.

Romney ran a recking crew of a company NOT a venture capitalist firm seeking to start production of a product believed to be profitable with longevity to achieve and MAINTAIN market share. You know. Sorta like "Gerber" baby food. It is just always there. In most circles that management model embraces BRAND NAME RECOGNITION AND RELIABILITY.

Mr. Romney is not the person for the White House. He was lost on this one. He had absolutely no reference point to the 'idea' Jeep was investing in Chinese manufacturing that would have its consumer base in China, not the USA.

Romney only understands 'seek and destroy' capitalism, not long term investment with sustainable market share, stable income for the stockholders and well trusted products that serve the American family generation after generation. He has NO CLUE how to build an economy with jobs for Americans.

Romney's history is removing jobs from the American economy, not creating them.

I'm tired.

Good night.
