China's population - 1.386 billion USA population - 327.2 million

Americans need to know there is NO SHAME or NO BLAME or NO REASON TO BE CALLED LAZY because of the national emergency.

NO ONE IS GOING BACK TO WORK BECAUSE WE HAVE A GREAT SUPPORT FOR EVERYONE AFTER THE US HOUSE PASSES THE "Worker First" BILL TOMORROW.

TRUMP IS WRONG.

Trump is turning his daily briefings into a daily campaign speech. I think the Democratic candidates should be having a daily announcement. There is nothing wrong with talking about what their actions would be in this emergency. At least Trump might mimic the policies and the country's burden will be better.

I don't see rallies anytime soon.

Maine is calling for supplies and tests.

How is Verizon responding to the COVID-19 outbreak?

Following guidance from public health authorities, (click here) including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), we continue to implement strategies to protect our workforce and ensure continuity of operations for our customers.

Maybe the media needs to state clearly "This is NOT Fake or political news, we report the truth." before they begin a newscast or write an article.

If it weren't for the media, Donald Trump would be huddled in his office with little worry about the people so much as the DOW's average. The media was heralding the cry of the people that brought Trump to daily reporting by the White House. There needs to be a split-screen video that shows Trump stating denial and danger while the news media was carrying the message that the people were sick.

The Indianapolis 500 is postponed.

Why is the right wing called COVID-19, CCP? Isn't CCCP an old Russian abbreviation? I think the country should be on the same page when it comes to language about the virus. It is a matter of safety.

Coronavirus in the USA: Latest Map and Case Count (click here)

The USA )(click here) is leading the world in the number of cases. Even more than China.

I need to do some averages. The percentages will be from this morning when I record the numbers.

The percentage of death rates has increased to 5 percent of the world's total.

The USA "SURGE" of COVID-19 is the largest in the world. (click here)

Confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, reached 82.404 today in the United States, giving it the most cases in the world.

And yesterday was the most active day so far in the country, with 14,042 new cases reported, and the national death toll reaching 1,069 fatalities.

The numbers came on day 10 of the White House's "15 days to slow the spread campaign," a nationwide effort at social distancing measures that has been implemented in a patchwork fashion across the 50 states. As of yesterday, 21 states had shelter-in-place or stay-at-home mandates that asked the non-essential workforce to remain at home for 14 to 30 days in an effort to slow the spread of the pandemic.

The United States late this afternoon passed both Italy and China to have the most COVID-19 cases in the world, according to the Johns Hopkins online tracker and other similar trackers.

President Trump ended the ALLOWED intelligence in China that would have brought the warning and THE NEED to prepare and stock hospitals.

According to the numbers this AM, the percentage of patients with COVID-19 is 15.6 percent of the world cases.

15.6 percent (click here) of a world in disease is a large percentage.

WHO

462,684 confirmed (49,219 new)
n20,834 deaths (2401 new)

I want everyone to take a long look at this graph. There was a 1352 point gain which is a 6.5 percent gain today on the Dow Jones Industrial Average (INDEXDJX: .DJI).

There is only one reason why. Because a $2.2 trillion stimulus was passed by
the US Senate. This particular $2.2 trillion was championed by Democratic
leadership in the US Senate and US House.

THE FINANCIAL MARKETS RECOGNIZE THE POTENTIAL PROFITS IN CONSUMER
SPENDING.

Now, there are problems with the fact the markets bailed out on the First World
countries that value them. Was there ever a doubt that at the very least that
the member countries of NATO would be coming forward with generous
legislature to care for their people. Not only that this dumping of stocks occurred
KNOWING the major banks in the First World weren't going to abandon them.
The financial managers that grabbed their mortgage money leaving the world
quaking have to be ashamed of themselves. I am ashamed of them.

The financial markets recognize the opportunity. That opportunity exists in the
USA in consumer markets. Every legislator that doubted for one minute in
protecting the WEALTH of the American people that work for a living should be
ashamed of themselves as well and only proves they know nothing about what
REAL MARKET looks like.

I MIGHT ADD FOR THOSE SO INCLINED, TEH BEST TO BUY STOCKS IS WHEN
THEY ARE AT A LOW KNOWING IT IS GOING TO SHOW PROFITS WHEN THIS
VICIOUS VIRUS IS GONE.

US stocks (click here) finished higher on Thursday, recording their third straight day of gains.

Markets had already priced in the sharp increase in jobless claims reported ahead of the opening bell this morning, and stocks rallied throughout the day.
  • The Dow finished up up 6.4%, or 1,352 points. The index has emerged from the bear market it fell into on March 11, having climbed more than 20% since Monday.
  • The S&P 500 closed up 6.2%.
  • The Nasdaq Composite rose 5.6%.
The USA military will have a storehouse of malaria medication. They were vitamins in places like South Vietnam. The Joint Chiefs should already be asking to look at their supply of drugs.

"Role of US Military Research Programs in the Development of US Food and Drug Administration - Approved Antimalarial Drugs

By Lynn W. Kitchen, David W. Vaughn, Donald R. Skillman
Clinical Infectious Diseases, Volume 43, Issue 1, 1 July 2006, Pages 67–71,

US military physicians and researchers (click here) helped identify the optimum treatment dose of the naturally occurring compound quinine and collaborated with the pharmaceutical industry in the development and eventual US Food and Drug Administration approval of the synthetic antimalarial drugs chloroquine, primaquine, chloroquine-primaquine, sulfadoxine-pyrimethamine, mefloquine, doxycycline, halofantrine, and atovaquone-proguanil. Because malaria parasites develop drug resistance, the US military must continue to support the creation and testing of new drugs to prevent and treat malaria until an effective malaria vaccine is developed. New antimalarial drugs also benefit civilians residing in and traveling to malarious areas....

Rating Social Distancing by CHANGE is somewhat self-defeating. So long as Americans maintain 6 FEET social distance regardless of their previous activity is what is important now. I am glad the technology can pick this up. Unfortunately, it is not a downloadable APP for individuals to modify their behavior and safety.

Chicagoans (click here) were ordered to stay at home starting last weekend and, according to a company grading social distancing, the city’s getting an A.

Both Cook County and the state of Illinois have high marks as of Wednesday on the “Social Distancing Scoreboard,” an interactive project based on location data collected by the company Unacast that roughly measures whether or not people are heeding the advice of officials to “flatten the curve” of the spread of the coronavirus.

The scores were determined by the change in average distance traveled compared with before the coronavirus outbreak. If residents are staying put aside from the occasional trip to the grocery store or pharmacy, the dip in travel would be apparent in the data.

A more than 40% decrease leads to an A, with grades dropping from there. Anything less than a 10% decrease — or an increase — ends in an F.

25th Amendment

This is really big trouble and the Trump administration's response is abysmal. The trend line is disastrous. The number of SERIOUSLY ILL is overwhelming the hospitals and a huge number of healthcare workers HAVE BECOME EFFECTED BY THE VIRUS.

Americans have to save themselves by SOCIAL DISTANCING AND SOCIAL ISOLATION.

According to an article today, Amazon workers are ill as well. (click here).

Donald Trump is not capable of leading this country through the worst circumstances it has ever faced domestically. He is making it worse. People are self-medicating and the "idea" that citizens will be back to work in two weeks is a lie and in two weeks people will be going to churches and becoming ill and spreading the virus.

The states that have not declared emergencies and restricted movement of people are harming the efforts to end this virus's rampage.

Columbus - Of Ohio's more than 700 diagnosed cases(click here) of the COVID-19 coronavirus, 16% are healthcare workers.

Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Amy Acton said Wednesday that 116 healthcare workers have tested positive for the novel coronavirus across the state. That's a bit more than 16% of the 704 confirmed statewide cases.

"This is an interesting stat. We know they’re higher risk, but they’re also tested more,” Acton said.

They're on the frontlines in a battle against a silent and invisible enemy, state officials said, doing everything they can to stop the advance...
