The Land of the NRA

Texas hasn't got this right. The doctor that spoke was talking about the ability to effectively triage the wounded.

I don't recognize this country anymore.

Texas just passed an enormous number of state laws that removed even more regulations in regard to concealed carry. Texas believes the only answer is to have everyone armed with guns to kill the shooter.

Texas sends police into areas to control guns. It also seizes the guns. The NRA rhetoric is empty politics putting people at risk.

...After Dallas experienced 40 killings in May (click here) — its highest monthly total since the 1990s — Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott directed the state’s Department of Public Safety to send state troopers to reduce violent crime in a city that has struggled for years with a massive shortage of police officers. Since the troopers' arrival, they've seized more than 70 guns, according to the Dallas Police Department. Violent crime — though still up compared with last year — has also dropped by nearly 30% in the areas of Dallas where they're deployed....

When it comes to ending gun violence Texas doesn't believe in putting more guns in the hands of innocent people, they send in the state troopers to end the presence of guns on the street.

The NRA rhetoric has to end and REAL facts need to come forward to end this USA gun disease. The rhetoric is political falsely based in the Second Amendment, but, the actions in Dallas prove how to actually end it.
If the G7 of 2020 is going to occur in a commercial property, it is called BIDDING.

Delaney is a conservative. He is running on the trade issue because it is money. It attracts Wall Street.

What is his ANSWER for health care?

Milwaukee is correct in alerting to the dangers of vaping.

Quite frankly the country should put a moratorium on vaping until the lung disease that is erupting is completely understood. Vaping needs to be regulated and the same restrictions as cigarettes.

When vaping is outlawed there will be an increase in cigarette use, but, there are options for nicotine that is safe and no affiliated with cigarettes.

I have been worried that something like this would occur. There isn't enough known about vaping for anyone to believe it is 100 percent safe.

The mechanism of vaping is not the same as cigarettes. it is not a passive process. I think it dehydrates lung tissue. I think it also adds pressure to the alveoli that it cannot withstand. Basically, I believe it is destroying lung tissue.

PROVE ME WRONG!

The city of Milwaukee (click here) issued a health alert Wednesday urging residents to stop vaping"immediately," after at least 16 people were hospitalized with severe lung disease this month.

The individuals all reported using vape products or dabbing -- which is the vaping of marijuana oils, extracts or concentrates -- in the weeks and months prior to being hospitalized. They were diagnosed with severe chemical pneumonia, an inflammation of the lungs due to aspirating or inhaling of irritants, according to a press release from the city's health department. The specific products used were unknown.

Milwaukee's health commissioner, Dr. Jeanette Kowalik, said she is "committed to protecting the public from the dangers of secondhand exposure" to vaping devices or electronic cigarettes.

“We continue to learn more about the health effects associated with e-cigarettes," Kowalik said in a statement Wednesday....

Brazil’s government is banning most legal fires, (click here) used for land-clearing, for at least 60 days in the wake of the massive blazes that ravaged the Amazon rainforest, according to a new report.

An official decree published Thursday prohibited the fires, typically set during the country’s dry season, Fox News reported.

Currently, farmers and others are allowed to set some fires as long as they have licenses from environmental authorities, the country’s forest code states.

This year, however, there’s been a 77 percent uptick in fires compared to the same period last year — a total of 83,000 blazes, the network reported, citing data from the National Institute for Space Research....
The aspect no one is addressing is the fact these children are MEDICALLY STABLE. That is because they are being cared for by American doctors, hospitals, nurses and surgeons. These children sometimes 'slip' off their wellness. That means they are taken to the ER or the MD's office for emergency attention to return their stability.

It is cruel to bring these children to wellness and STABILITY with a loving family and simply look at them and say, "But, they seem fine to me," and send them to countries that cannot provide their care or even come close.

This is a humanitarian crisis for these children and they must remain in the USA to remain MEDICALLY STABLE to go forward to learn and quality of life and life itself.

The quality of life of these children is due to their stability. Part of the quality of life of children is attending school and seeing other children. These activities will not be possible when they return to their chronic conditions that could even lead to their death.
American farmers need to rely on the American people to find a market. That might mean changing crops that are marketable to No GMO markets.

The other option is to market to allies, especially Mexico. NAFTA is still in force, so farmers could look to their own resourcefulness and bring on their own commodity brokers to move their crops. Brokers can be found within the trucking industry, especially the independents. The Brokers may be able to bring suppliers and customers together.

Set up a resource website that farmers can list their crops and what is in their silos. A broker can then log into the site and link demand to supplies. It might mean working with truckers to move the crop, but, self-reliance is what farming is all about.
Dorian has a lot of loft. That is a powerful eye consolidating energy. That is a really strong storm. The people anywhere in the "cone of uncertainty" needs to leave.

NOW!

It is a holiday weekend. The traffic is going to be terrible and it is about to get worse. Get off the Florida peninsula for at least the next 3 to 4 days. The state needs to open southbound lanes to northbound traffic if the traffic proves to be a standstill and/or hazardous to itself.

The storm will bring flooding. They need to be well above sea level. The rivers will swell from the approaching storm surge. They should be no less than 30 feet above sea level. Andrew and Katrina were pushing a 20 foot storm surge when they made landfall. In the case of Katrina that storm surge killed at least 1833 in the year 2005.

It is foolish to stay.

The majority of Florida has not experienced a Category 4 storm. Andrew was very south and Katrina was a category one when it passed over Florida. Hurricane Irma did not hit Florida directly off the Atlantic Ocean. A category 5 storm winds are 157 mph or higher. A category 4 storm winds are 130 to 156 mph. Irma hit Florida with maximum sustained winds of 112 mph which is a low category 3. The Keys were hit with higher winds of 150 to 160 and they were devastated.

"Experienced Residents" should not overestimate their ability to ride out this storm.

Kindly recall the RAINS begin at the periphery and not with the eye's landfall. Some of these storms have been huge with diameters 500 miles across or more. Please don't concentrate on the landfall of the "eye" as a definitive "time of day" to be the most prepared for the storm. Kindly remind people the PERIPHERAL RAINS can arrive an entire day or half a day before the eye and in that torrential rains will cause flooding long before the eye arrives.

Good luck!

These laws allow a armed homeowner too much authority with their gun.

I have no doubt these teens could have been planning to steal a car. At no time did the homeowner state they were a threat to his life. He defended a car. A car. Sorry, these laws go too far. Regardless of the lawlessness of the teens' intentions I value life more than a car.

Columbus - Ohio House Republicans (click here) are kicking off “lame-duck” session this week with a final round of challenges to outgoing Gov. John Kasich on guns and abortion.

By a 64-26, mostly party-line vote Wednesday, the Ohio House passed a GOP-sponsored “stand your ground” bill that eliminates any “duty to retreat” before using force in self-defense, shifts the burden of proof to the state in self-defense cases, and loosens a number of Ohio gun-control rules – including allowing individuals to challenge local gun-control ordinances in court....

Two 17-year-olds were fatally shot by a man in Dayton, Ohio, (click here) on Wednesday after they allegedly trespassed on his property, authorities said.

The man that killed two teenagers could call the police after the fact, but, not before.

The man called 911 at about 9:30 p.m. to report that he had shot two people who were in or near his garage, according to the Dayton Police Department. The unidentified resident of the home said he saw a light from that area of the property and encountered three people inside his car in the garage.

He became alarmed BEFORE it approached the garage. There was plenty of time to call the police about his alarm and then walk to the garage with his pistol. The police no doubt would have told him to remain in the house and they were being dispatched to a potentially dangerous situation.

He then fired a .38 caliber revolver, which killed two of the three people. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office identified them as teenagers Devin Henderson and Javier Harrison.

The third person in the car was arrested on a breaking and entering charge.

The man who shot the teens was taken into custody for questioning and then released. He was not immediately charged with any crime.

Police said Thursday that they were consulting with prosecutors, as recent changes to Ohio law places the burden of proof for cases of self-defense on the state....

South Korea may be seeing a longer sentence for their impeached president.

2019-8-29

Seoul - South Korea's top court (click here) on Thursday ordered the review of the appellate court's rulings on the bribery case of impeached and ousted President Park Geun-hye, involving Park's longtime friend Choi Soon-sil and Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong.

The Supreme Court returned the case to the appeals court, saying the bribery case, involving Park, should be ruled separately from other charges, including abuse of power and coercion, under the election law.

The separate rulings raise a possibility for the impeached president to face a heavier punishment.

Park was sentenced to 25 years in prison and fined 20 billion won (17 million US dollars) in August last year by an appeals court, which raised the lower court's sentence of the 24-year imprisonment....

...The corruption scandal disclosed the country's inveterate collusive ties between politicians and businessmen, under which large conglomerates grew rapidly but distorted order of the market economy, eventually causing loss to the entire economy.

All the defendants did not appear in court for the rulings. Park refused to attend any court hearings since October 2017, calling the trial a political revenge.

Park was impeached by lawmakers in December 2016. The Constitutional Court upheld the parliament's decision in March 2017, making her the first South Korean leader to be impeached by the National Assembly.
Florida has been through a huge storm that straddled the state. There is a fairly good chance Dorian will stall.

This is an ocean temperature map. The temperature on the east and west side of Florida is nearly the same.

From a warming perspective, it would be better to have Dorian enter the Gulf and contain the heat it carries to an already warmed body of water, however, with a couple of vortexes in the northeast and north-central of North America it may find stability on the east coast.

There is also a cold air mass north of the USA decending to some extent that may push Dorian into a stalled profile.

The vortexes are heat transfer systems and like to carry hot air northward, however, Dorian is over hot water and will increase it's velocity, setting up a separation from the northeast vortex and will spin alone below a denser cold air mass north.

It is the fourth named storm of the 2019 Atlantic season, HOWEVER, it is the first major storm that is actually carrying water vapor into a dry troposphere. Realizing this has been the status quo for the last few years, there is a far better than 50% chance Dorian will stall and deliver plenty of warm water to Florida.

Dorian will probably remain a category four as it approaches the Florida coast. After a stalled deposition of water vapor over or near Florida, there is a remote chance it will move northeast in cooperation of the two vortexes that exist now.

That is a very sketchy presentation at this point, but, these climate crisis storms are water loving and become puny once they reach land. The WATER DENSITY brought to the troposphere by Dorian will determine it's final track. Basically, Dorian is depositing water vapor into the troposphere and creating it's own path. As the water vapor increases in the troposphere around Dorian the storm will become more stable especially considering there is nothing but perfect OCEAN TEMPERATURE conditions for stalled storms.

THE DIAMETER of Dorian. As it increases the storm becomes more stable and stalled.

That is probably clear as mud.

Florida and the east coast up to the Chesapeake Bay needs to pay attention.

We already knew Comey violated FBI and DOJ rules when he made the statements about Hillary Clinton weeks before the 2016 elections. He didn't commit a crime. He did cause plenty of problems by not listening to then Attorney General Lynch.

When is the Inspector General going to evaluate the actions of Bill Barr?

Children receiving medical care for chronic illness may have to separate from their parents.

For those families that have a child in the USA to receive medical care may have to be adopted by another family member. It is a radical idea, but, they only have 33 days to make it over the line to stay alive.

This administration doesn't care. Don't assign them the HOPE so many people are thinking that will change the course of that letter.

The families MUST find a way now. That may be taking extreme measures.

The other option is to make this a "States Rights" issue and pass legislation that reflects the compassion of the people of Florida and Massachusetts.

There may be a long shot as well. For any child that can act as their own parents, they can seek emancipation. That would make them able to seek a visa and the possible USA standing for reasons of medical treatment. I don't know if emancipation will bring better results, but, it can't bring worse. At that point they can be abandoned by the parents, removing any ability to facilitate their way back to their birthplace.

In the meantime, the pressure to provide for these children AND their families is important. I am surprised it is focused on two locations.

I think the "States Rights" measure is the best outcome. I see that happening in time by Massachusetts, but, I don't see Florida legislators being that compassionate.

The country of birth may even be able to revoke their citizenship under certain circumstances.

Trump has no conscience, I suggest the counter measure be just as ruthless.

There is a reason Trump is telling Puerto Rico to get out of the way, no more money.

Evidently, racism carries a dearly worrisome cost. The southern USA border is receiving federal funding at the expense of disaster relief. The money is coming out now because Puerto Rico announced a state of emergency. There was no hurry with the Atlantic season so quiet.

Puerto Rico probably has recourse against Trump and his reactionary movement of funding. Puerto Rico's state of emergency was placed before Trump adversely acted against the USA territory.

August 27, 2019

The timing on this could not be more telling. (click here)

On Tuesday morning, Puerto Rico declared a state of emergency as Tropical Storm Dorian was predicted to become a hurricane when it hits the island on Wednesday. And on Tuesday afternoon, NBC News reported that President Trump's administration opted to transfer $251 million in Department of Homeland Security disaster relief to the southern border.

Puerto Rico is still recovering from disastrous hurricanes that hit the island nearly two years ago, only receiving $900 million in relief funding in May after months of delays. Yet all the while, Trump has zeroed in on the southern border, even declaring a national emergency in an attempt to build his border wall.

The bill funding Puerto Rico's disaster relief didn't include Trump's border demands. But that didn't stop the Trump administration this week from reportedly relocating $271 million from DHS — including from FEMA's disaster relief fund — to fund detention and increased immigration hearings. $155 million of that total would go to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, NBC News reports via department officials and a letter sent to FEMA by Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Calif.)....

One of the nation’s biggest retailers (click here) told its suppliers Tuesday they’ll have to bear the cost of President Trump’s trade war with China alone from now on.

In essence, the company said, the buck stops here....

Trump says he wants war in the Middle East.

The shadiest USA administration in history keeps getting shadier and shadier. To release a peace plan before elections would be a push for the incumbent leading the way to peace. So, why not release it, because there is no peace plan, there is only war. That is Trump, Kushner and Netanyahu's peace plan.

It is no different than Trump telling the country that his health care plan will be announced after the election. There is no health care plan and we know it. Same with Israel, there is no peace plan that was supposed to be released a year ago. There is no peace plan.

This is why the Medical Deferment Program exists you lousy son of a bitch.

USA GDP   $19.39 Trillion

Ghana GDP $37.33 Billion

It has been a long standing place for the USA to act as a "big brother or sister" to countries far smaller and far less able to provide for their people. There is absolutely no reason for this program to end without escorting Trump to The Hague.

The joint endeavor by the G7 to meet with Iranian leadership was genius.

The invitation and meetings between French President Macron and Iranian leadership can't be understated. There are the obvious reassurances between Iran and France as well as other members of the Iran Agreement. Bringing the Iranian leadership to France for this G7 was a matter of convenience to those countries in the agreement. It also made a huge statement to the commitment of the members to maintain the agreement from all parties.

I am certain the depth of the meeting evaded Trump, but, the Middle East is becoming a problem.

Israel is targeting Iran as the instigator to Israel's problems. Israel is carrying out aggressions in the region without even talking to the sovereign countries.

For decades Israel and Palestine have had horrible relations. The idea of a "Two-State Solution" has never been further from any reality. Trump and Kushner are fueling the fires with Isreal. It is easy to say it is about the politics of Netanyahu, but, it is far more than that.

Like any faith, there are different levels of devotion and within those devotions, there are the extremists. It is easy to be a religious extremist. For some reason, for quite some time there are extremists within the Jewish faith that believe far more land belongs to them regardless of what any other authority states. They believe, no different than other extremists, they have God in their devotions and all measures must take place to satisfy their interpretation of their faith.

It is very concerning that Israel is taking these extremist views seriously. I do not believe Israel is acting within the parameters of normal international relations, even if Israel believes it is right and correct in their willingness to take aggressive stances.

The fact Iran was at the G7 summit must have given Mr. Bolton pause. Or not. I don't know how aloof he actually is when it comes to his ideology. But, it should have given Mr. Bolton pause. Iran in attending the G7 is opening up much needed dialogue regarding what appears to be increasing instability in the Middle East with Israel taking a far more aggressive stance.

In addition, Iran in making this effort with President Macron puts the country in a different class than that of Hezbollah. One might remember Trump named the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization, etc. Iran is acting like a sovereign authority and not a terrorist organization. Oddly, Hezbollah is now autonomous because of the manifestation of Daesh and the ability to maintain sovereign borders of the countries they call home. But, the important aspect of Iran's attendance of the G7 is it's very sovereign state and honoring the intact Iran Agreement. The remaining members really want the Iran Agreement to work and quite possibly a new agreement including all the G7 members.

I think President Macron did exactly the right and best thing in asking Iran to be present within the G7 meeting. Iran must reclaim all the parameters of the Iran Agreement and show good faith in acting to maintain it's affiliations with the remaining members.

...Brazil’s telenovela (click here) powerhouse TV Globo: Aruanas. The series focuses on environmental journalists and activists in the country’s vast, forested interior, where 57 environmental defenders were killed in 2017....

...The largest caucus in Brazil’s congress – the ruralista bloc – represents agribusiness interests, and in January their longtime ally, Jair Bolsonaro, became president.
Since then, Bolsonaro has launched an unprecedented attack on environmental protections, eliminating the post of secretary on climate change and stripping the environment ministry of authority.
Bolsonaro argues that the environmental protections in the Amazon hinder economic development and has promised that “not one more centimeter” of land would be allocated to indigenous tribes.
Such rhetoric has emboldened loggers, ranchers and big business interests eager to make money in the Amazon. Deforestation rose 88% in June compared to the same time last year, 169 new pesticides have been approved for use this year and the minister of mines and energy said the government was planning to allow mining in indigenous reserves.

But the vast majority of Brazil’s people live in cities, and for many of them, the assault on the rainforest is a distant reality, said Marcos Nisti, the co-creator of Aruanas....
This is the path of a famous storm, Andrew. It started August 16, 1992 and ended August 28, 1992. There were 65 fatalities. This path is not the same but similar to Katrina, especially after it passed over southern Florida. Katrina also occurred at this time of year.

I am not saying this is going to happen, what I am saying is that it could happen. The ocean waters are very hot and the Atlantic hurricane season to date has been rather calm.

Americans need to pay attention.

Oklahoma lost 600,000 people to opioid overdoses after addiction. The Rwanda Genocide occurred over 100 days. It was more stark to the conscience.

The American people were a profit line. The three drug dealers didn't care about the health and well being of the American people. At what point do American deaths actually effect the bottom line for the loss of customers. I think that is critical for Wall Street to realize, it might give the rest of us half a chance.

Opioids are a class of drugs (click here) that include the illegal drug heroin, synthetic opioids such as fentanyl, and pain relievers available legally by prescription, such as oxycodone (OxyContin®), hydrocodone (Vicodin®), codeine, morphine, and many others.

Oklahoma’s $572 million judgment (click here) against Johnson & Johnson will likely be followed by more trials and legal settlements seeking to hold a drug company accountable for a U.S. opioid crisis that has ripped apart lives, families and communities.

Monday’s ruling could help shape negotiations over roughly 1,500 similar lawsuits filed by state, local and tribal governments consolidated before a federal judge in Ohio. And as the legal cases against the opioid industry accelerate, so do concerns about how the money from verdicts or settlements will be spent.

Following are questions and answers about the opioid crisis and what lies ahead....

...By the early 2000s, the death toll from opioids was rising and there were growing numbers of thefts of drugs from pharmacies. In 2007, Purdue paid a $634 million fine and pleaded guilty to understanding the addiction risks of the drug. But the crisis only deepened after that. Prescriptions flowed freely at “pill mill” clinics, especially in Florida, where drug dealers would get drugs and spread them around the country.

In recent years, opioid overdoses have been the nation’s largest cause of accidental deaths, ahead of even automobile accidents. The death tolls per capita have been the highest in places with the highest prescription rates. The Appalachian region has been hardest hit....

Puerto Rico (click here) and parts of the Dominican Republic are now under a hurricane watch due to Tropical Storm Dorian, meaning those places could see dangerous conditions within 48 hours.

Dorian's maximum sustained winds weakened to 50 mph from 60 mph overnight, according to the National Hurricane Center. As of 8 a.m. ET, the compact storm was about 15 miles west-northwest of St. Lucia, after crossing into the eastern Caribbean Sea on Tuesday morning.

"Slow strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours," the NHC says, "and Dorian is forecast to be near hurricane strength when it moves close to Puerto Rico and eastern Hispaniola."

Dry air around Dorian has tamped down the storm's strength. And the hurricane center says the system could also weaken substantially when it passes over large land masses in Puerto Rico and Hispaniola....

You name it and before any decisions are made Trump measures the wealth that is being lost to Wall Street regardless of the people

The idea of world leaders meeting at a Trump property is absurd. The current activities of Trump on Trump properties cannot be secured the Secret Service. There are people that turn up without any understanding as to why they are on the Trump property only to find out it is a Chinese operative looking for information.

When security is required at the Trump Tower in New York City, there are dump trucks filled with sand parked around the entire building as a barrier to any attempt by car bombs and terrorists.

The Trump properties are about luxury and easy access to customers. It is not workable. Camp David is the only practical answer for the next G7 in the USA.

Washington blasted for imposing an unworkable '1930s strategy' on tariffs

China (click here) won't give in to extreme pressure by the United States on tariffs and will firmly defend its core interests, as it has sufficient countermeasures available, experts said.

The reaction came after the Ministry of Commerce expressed strong opposition on Saturday to a new threat of additional tariffs by the US on about $550 billion worth of Chinese imports. The ministry urged Washington to reverse course immediately or be prepared to "bear all the consequences".

The fresh retaliatory threat by the US violates the consensus reached between the countries' top leaders and severely undermines the multilateral trading system and normal international trade order, the ministry said, adding that Washington will eat the bitter fruit of its own actions.

Gu Xueming, head of the ministry's Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation, said none of the extreme pressure tactics and intimidation by the US will work with China, which will unswervingly protect itself.

In the future, the country's countermeasures will be more rational, firmer and more powerful, Gu said at a seminar in Beijing on Sunday....

The spacecraft will use the Vulcan rocket developed by an alliance between U.S. aerospace companies Boeing and Lockheed Martin. Tory Bruno is chief executive of the United Launch Alliance (ULA). Bruno told Reuters, “Our first flight on Vulcan is also the first big step in going back to the moon.”
The Vulcan rocket was selected over the reusable rocket from SpaceX, a company owned by Elon Musk of carmaker Tesla. It is powered by engines from Blue Origin, a company started by Jeff Bezos of Amazon. Blue Origin also is working on a heavy-lift rocket....

Mesic

That is a word often used when describing Basswood-Maple Forests.

Mesic habitat refers to land with a well-balanced supply of moisture throughout the growing season, such as streamsides, wet meadows, springs and seeps, irrigated fields and high-elevation habitats. These are the places that provide drought insurance as uplands heat up, and the places where birds and livestock flock during the hot summer months.
Healthy mesic habitats act like sponges, helping to capture, store, and slowly release water. This service is essential for supporting the wildlife, people, and livestock living in the West.
The number and acreage (click here) of maple-basswood rich mesic forests in New York have probably declined moderately in recent decades as a result of logging, agriculture, and development.

There is a caution that exists with Basswood as an exclusive flower for bees.

Basswood trees cannot be the only form of food source for bees. The sugar of Basswood trees is not the same as other bee food sources. Basswood flowers produce "mannose" sugar.
Both diet- and glucose-derived mannose (click here) contribute to the mannose pool, which is directly used for glycoconjugate synthesis. Stringent regulation of metabolites such as Man-6-P is crucial: deficiency or excess can be detrimental for the cell and the physiology of the whole organism. Mannose can be good, bad, or ugly (Table. 2). Steady state levels and metabolic flux of the metabolites depend on both the substrates and the relevant enzymes, which in turn, determine normal vs disease states. Mannose can be a therapeutic, but indiscriminate use can have adverse effects. It is important to apply an Integrative approach to sugar metabolism. Some of the perspectives described here can inform metabolomic approaches and perspectives for other monosaccharides.
Depending on the tree grove and it's needed for pollinators, an agricultural agent should be consulted before Basswoods are planted. They grow fast and do supply a food source, but, they have their drawbacks as a solitary food source.

The parks in New York State want to engage young people and children to enjoy the outdoors more than indoors.

Visitors to Basswood Pond State Forest (click here) this season can enjoy a freshly cleared field with picnic tables and accessibility improvements completed by the state Department of Environmental Conservation.

The 720-acre state park in Burlington Flats now has an open recreation area and wheelchair-friendly parking lot, fishing platform and trails, including one that leads to a waterfront lean-to.

The projects were completed with $100,000 granted through Gov. Andrew Cuomo's Adventure NY Initiative to connect more New Yorkers with nature. The park also has seven miles of multi-use trails.

DEC officials helped stock the pond with brown and rainbow trout after a ribbon cutting Tuesday. Five hundred fish are stocked in the 15-acre pond each year.

“We don't want to leave any kids inside,” said Kathy Moser, DEC deputy commissioner for natural resources. "We want to get them thinking about hunting and fishing and trapping."...
