February 12, 2006. North Pole.

This is the north pole. The only frozen ocean is here. It is the 'icecube' to keep the oceans cool. Either directly or indirectly all the oceans of the world are affected by the Arctic Ocean.

The North American continent is at the bottom of the picture. Greenland is at four o'clock and much closer to the north pole.

Russia is at the top of this satellite picture.

There is a large cloud mass circulating over North America. It's not easy to find so I'll try to isolate the area I refer to below.
