Trump pulled the plug on "Starshield" while Bessent was writing the permit for Russia.

No one else finds that a violation of treaties and national security policy?

SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk (click here) said Wednesday that the U.S. government and President Donald Trump are responsible for any curbs on Ukraine's military-grade Starlink network.

Writing on X, Musk said that "Starshield systems are owned and controlled by the U.S. government. Any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS."...

The USA government executive branch cannot unilaterally end legislation.

Trump's bizarre idea of politics is the only reason this dialogue exists.

The sanctions (click here) were part of legislation that was named after Senator Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina Republican who died in July.

...Digging into the details, (click here) however, reveals Trump’s diesel deal to be anything but. As a legal matter, it’s not clear that Trump’s actions can actually clear the way for U.S. imports of Russian diesel fuel as he claims. And while he can ease U.S. restrictions on the global market for Russian diesel fuel, a number of other factors make it unlikely that doing so will meaningfully impact prevailing prices. Instead, the deal’s most serious consequences will likely be felt in Ukraine, as Putin appears to have persuaded Trump that Ukraine’s strikes on Russia’s diesel fuel industry—a major contributor to its recent military success—are pushing up global energy prices and thus hurting Trump’s domestic political prospects.

The operative legal instrument behind the diesel deal is General License No. 135 (illegal permit click here), which the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued on Oct. 9, shortly after Trump’s Truth Social post. It exempts “all transactions … related to the sale, delivery, offloading, or importation, including importation into the United States[,]” from two long-standing sets of Russia-related U.S. economic sanctions: the Russian Harmful Foreign Activities Sanctions Regulations codified at 31 C.F.R. part 587, which were promulgated around the 2022 invasion of Ukraine; and the Ukraine-/Russia-Related Sanctions Regulations codified at 31 C.F.R. part 589, which were promulgated following Russia’s 2014 occupation of Crimea. Both are the products of executive orders issued by Trump and his White House predecessors, using the authority the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) provides to the president....

The emergency order Trump rolled out August 26, 2026 had to do with increasing the domestic production of infrastructure responsible for producing electricity. If Bessent is using this as an excuse to produce a permit than it is very illegal, because the executive order specifically attacks any and all equipment imported from foreign countries that can contain, basically spy capacity. So, the idea Trump is actually importing Russian oil is contrary to his own policies.

Trump cannot undo legislation that prohibits business with our enemies. Someone needs to brief Donald about the FACT Russia is the enemy of the USA. Russia was warned in 2014 if it continued to plague Ukraine with incursions and invasions there would be consequences. THAT IS POLICY. It is policy that removed Russia from the G8. There are treaties Bessent is in violation of in issuing permits to USA enemies. He cannot simply take orders unilaterally from Trump and be his "yes, man" no matter how much he desires it.

Executive Order 14421 (click here)

...Section 1. National Emergency. As President of the United States, my highest duty is protecting the national security, foreign policy, and economy of this country. Certain foreign actors are increasingly creating and exploiting vulnerabilities in the United States bulk-power system, which provides the electricity that supports our national defense, vital emergency services, critical infrastructure, and economy. During my first term, I found that the bulk-power system could be a target of those seeking to commit malicious acts against the United States, including malicious cyber activities, because of the significant risks that a successful attack would have on our economy, human health and safety, and national defense. Since my first term, the threat to the United States regarding foreign supply of bulk-power system electric equipment has become even more acute: The rapid growth of advanced manufacturing, data centers, artificial intelligence, and defense production has increased the Nation’s dependence on abundant, reliable electricity and magnified the consequences of a successful attack or supply disruption on the bulk-power system....

Some other laws that can be insulted by that permit are “Foreign Extortion Prevention Act”. and the "Logan Act" comes to mind.

Provision Two of "The Hague Summit Declaration"...

...United in the face of profound security threats and challenges, (click here) in particular the long- term threat posed by Russia to Euro-Atlantic security and the persistent threat of terrorism, Allies commit to invest 5% of GDP annually on core defence requirements as well as defence-and security-related spending by 2035 to ensure our individual and collective obligations, in accordance with Article 3 of the Washington Treaty. Our investments will ensure we have the forces, capabilities, resources, infrastructure, warfighting readiness, and resilience needed to deter and defend in line with our three core tasks of deterrence and defence, crisis prevention and management, and cooperative security....

This was a bipartisan resolution to validate the NATO Treaty and the change in percent contribution to the alliance, a change to 5 percent GDP from 2 percent. This is a validation of the alliance and it's importance to the USA.

Russia is a known enemy of NATO and the USA.

Bessent is in violation of every treaty between the USA and Europe, including trade agreements as they are effected by the national security of all countries involved.

End of discussion.

Celebrating the June 2025 North Atlantic Treaty Organization Summit in the Hague, the Netherlands, and reaffirming priorities pertaining to transatlantic security and our commitment to NATO....

...Whereas the Hague Summit will take place during the fourth year of the Russian Federation’s unprovoked, illegal, full-scale war against Ukraine;

Whereas, following calls from the United States Government to increase defense spending among European Allies, the Hague Summit is expected to revise NATO Allies’ defense spending pledge from 2 percent of each country's gross domestic product that was agreed to through the 2014 Wales Summit Declaration, to a reported target of 5 percent of each country's gross domestic product, which includes a commitment to spend 1.5 percent of each country's gross domestic product on investments in defense-related infrastructure and capabilities;

Whereas Article 10 of the North Atlantic Treaty, done at Washington April 4, 1949—

(1) establishes NATO’s open-door policy; and

(2) permits the admission of any European country whose government is willing and able to contribute to the security of the North Atlantic area and assume the requirements and responsibilities of membership;...

Nothing new, except the vehicle involved.

The technology is not new (click here). The only difference between this and an oil rig or any other drilling ship is the weight. There is no genius here. Just, sensationalism. Just more of the Musk Circus.

Musk is always conducting some sort of outrageous maneuver that hasn't been done before, like destroying the American government.

Ashley St. Clair (click here) is opening up in a new documentary about how she entered Elon Musk’s orbit — and the child custody battle that followed after she gave birth to their son.

“It’s very difficult to see the architecture that’s Elon’s world when you’re dropped in,” St. Clair, a 28-year-old former conservative influencer, says in Alex Gibney’s Musk, which was released in theaters nationwide on Friday, Oct. 16.

“You see just enough that you think you’re seeing the whole picture,” St. Clair says, “and you don’t ask any other questions.”

Musk’s ex is one of the more prominent voices featured in the roughly four-hour documentary....

It’s now been half a decade (click here) since SpaceX turned heads around the world with its decision to launch Elon Musk’s personal Tesla roadster into outer space, sending the car on an endless journey into the cosmic wilderness where it’s expected to remain for millennia to come.

As of Monday, February 6, the cherry-colored sports car has officially been in space for exactly five years.

At the time of its anniversary, data estimates show that it had completed about three and one quarter loops around the sun and was positioned about 203 million miles (327 million kilometers) from Earth, according to the tracking website whereisroadster.com.

The roadster has logged more than 2.5 billion miles in space (4 billion kilometers), mostly through a barren vacuum. Though, in 2020, the vehicle made its first close approach to Mars, passing within 5 million miles of the planet, or about 20 times the distance between the Earth and the moon....

Trump's rantings and bozo orders only distract from the White Supremacist recruitment of our young sons.

When does it stop and the USA return to domestic peace?

Police responded to an active shooter at Silver Rail Elementary (click here) in southeast Bend, according to an alert police sent out Thursday afternoon.

Five people are dead, including three children, a teacher and the 16-year-old male shooter, according to Mike Krantz, Bend Police chief, who spoke at a 5:30 pm press conference Thursday at Bend City Hall. The three children killed were ages 5, 8 and 11.

Crisis counselors will be available to the public Deschutes Central Library on Friday, beginning at 9 am....

Research in psychology and criminology (click here) shows that when a young boy or adolescent attacks classmates, the motives rarely stem from a single cause. Instead, they typically result from a complex mix of psychological, social, and environmental factors:

Bullying, Marginalization, and Humiliation: Many researchers, such as criminologists studying school violence, point to acute feelings of chronic bullying, social rejection, humiliation, or perceived injustice as primary catalysts.

The Desire for Revenge and Glorification: Young males experiencing severe alienation may develop obsessive revenge fantasies, seeking to reclaim power or achieve notoriety (often amplified by real or imagined peer or online audiences).

Mental Health and Emotional Regulation Challenges: Underlying depression, trauma, anger-management issues, or developmental vulnerabilities can impair a youth's ability to cope with stress or interpersonal conflict.

Online Subcultures and Influence: Exposure to toxic online communities, extremist rhetoric, or violent media (such as certain segments of the "manosphere" or incel/hate forums) can desensitize young people or validate aggression as a means of retaliation.

Access to Firearms or Weapons: The physical capacity to carry out a deadly attack almost always relies on the easy availability of unsecured firearms or lethal weapons in the home or environment.

The United States of America is ranked along side of Russia and China. That is an enormous disgrace.

Any and all sanctions placed against the ICC should be litigated within the court system of the USA. The International Criminal Court is a moral force in the world. Countries and their people globally look to the court for recognition of the sanctity of life. The USA's leaders should never be outside the circle of the most moral positions of governments in the world. There is no pretending. There is only living it.

The USA should be in lock step with our allies and not our enemies. There are treaties enforcing it.

  State party
  Signatory that has not ratified
State party that subsequently withdrew its membership
Signatory that subsequently withdrew its signature
  Non-state party, non-signatory

The war in Iraq was an illegal war. The moral decline of the USA never stopped. While Bush believed the attacks of September 11, 2001 took the USA into unknown defensive miliary areas, the lack of return to our best moral content was abandoned. We should still stand with our allies and be a member party.

In the Bush Administration's range of policies (click here) that had negative ramifications for the promotion and respect for international human rights, its approach to the International Criminal Court (ICC) was of particular significance. What was striking was not the Administration's position on the United States' becoming part of the court-the Clinton Administration also had concerns over joining-but rather the intense, virulent assault that the Bush Administration advanced on the Court. Despite official claims to the contrary, the Bush Administration's approach, which was far more strident during its first term, appeared to be an intensive effort to cripple the Court....

An internal memo told Justin Trudeau's government (click here) that it was expected to pursue the arrests of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his then defence minister and Hamas leaders if the International Criminal Court were to issue the warrants being prepared by one of its prosecutors.

Trudeau and his successor Mark Carney both later said they would act on the warrants. But the document — dated months before the warrants were ultimately issued — offers a rare glimpse at internal advice the government received from a non-partisan source.

"The International Criminal Court is a designated extradition partner under Canada's Extradition Act," Trudeau's national security adviser at the time, Nathalie Drouin, wrote in a memo dated June 10, 2024....

A US federal judge (click here) has temporarily blocked the Trump administration from placing sanctions on two US-based human rights groups for working to help the international criminal court’s (ICC) investigations into war crimes in Gaza.

In a 30-page order issued on Tuesday, Jesse M Furman, a judge at the US district court for the southern district of New York, granted a preliminary injunction to the two groups, Democracy for the Arab World Now (Dawn) and Taxpayer Alliance Against Genocide (Taag).

The two organizations sued the Trump administration this summer, challenging an executive order issued in February 2025 that imposed sanctions against the ICC.

The order warned the US government would “impose tangible and significant consequences” on people involved in investigations that Washington said threatened the national security of the US or its allies, including Israel.....
