Well done, Qatar. This is an interesting time to realize there is a difference in the groups in Syria.

August 25, 2014

An American journalist (click here) kidnapped nearly two years ago has been freed in Syria following Qatari mediation and handed over to UN peacekeepers in the Golan Heights.
Peter Theo Curtis was handed over to UN peacekeepers in the village of al-Rafid, Quneitra, on Sunday. He has since been turned over to representatives from the US government after undergoing medical check-up, the UN said.
Curtis' family thanked both the governments of the US and Qatar, as well as others who helped negotiate his release.
According to a statement from his family, Curtis was captured in October 2012 and was reportedly held by the al-Nusra Front or by splinter groups allied with the al-Qaeda-affiliated group....

There are many so called splinter groups of al Qaeda. There are many Elk Lodges in the USA, too. Poor analogy, I agree, but it makes a point. The different groups are based in territorial claims because they do not have the capacity of a national organization.

Al Nusra has proven to be less of an aggressive force so much as a support to other organizations. It doesn't have an agenda as ISIS/L or the Free Syrian Army. Al Nursa has primarily attempted to 'take care of' their people. They will act more in defense of their 'piece' of the land of Syria, but, tend not to kill others to expand their 'land claim.'

Al Nusra really is what occurred after the Assad regime collapsed regardless of a recent election. I have no doubt Assad is seeking to reconstitute his control in order to claim as a national leader, but, that has yet to occur.

There are actually 29 separate organizations within Syria governing their own piece of land. These organizations have mostly considered Assad the real terrorist, but, that was until ISIS/L has manifested as a source of genocidal ideologies.

If The West has to put a face to a movement it would most likely be Moaz al-Khatib, at least until that of ISIS/L. ISIS/L has not particular affiliation of a coalition. ISIS/L is sort of where all the young folks went. Ruthless, cruel and unaffiliated.

The new leader (click here) of the Syrian anti-Assad coalition has a big job ahead of him. But his moderation lends him credibility

When the Syria donors' conference begins on Friday in London, all eyes will turn to Moaz al-Khatib, the new leader of Syria's opposition. A religious moderate, with impeccable revolutionary credentials, and a geologist as well, the west will be looking to see whether Khatib is a man they can do business with.
Khatib was elected on Sunday in Doha as the head of Syria's new opposition coalition, emerging from negotiations many had predicted were doomed to failure.
He now has the unenviable task of trying to unite the country's feuding anti-Assad opposition at a time when the west is reluctant to give military aid to the rebels, jihadi groups are increasingly prevalent, and the war on the ground is a bloody and murderous stalemate....
They really aren't al Qaeda affiliated. Not really. They are seeking to unseat Assad. Being an al Qaeda affiliate is a nice scary name, but, not much more.
Moaz al-Khatib has served as an Imam at the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus. If there is any one person with the ability to speak about the interior environment within Syria it would be he.

I actually wouldn't expect aftershocks with the 6.0 earthquake in Napa Valley yesterday.

If one notes the earthquake was east of the fault. Why? In my opinion it was because the Pacific Plate was pushing against the land and transmitting the tensions along the fault further inland. The earthquake was just east of any body of water where there would be greatest resistance. If it were a 'fault quake' it would manifest differently.

News agencies relying on the opinion of residents to raise fear factors are going to be disappointed, but since when does that stop them.

I am curious as to what the waters in the bay was doing during the time of the earthquake.

San Francisco (click here) has been infamous for devastating earthquakes in its history, but Sunday morning’s magnitude-6.0 temblor near Napa that rocked much of the Bay Area appears to have left The City mostly unharmed.
Residents throughout the Bay Area were rattled awake when the largest earthquake to hit the Bay Area in nearly 25 years struck at 3:20 a.m., about six miles southwest of Napa. The quake sent dozens of those in California’s wine country to hospitals, ignited fires, damaged historic buildings and knocked out power to tens of thousands, authorities said.
However, no damages or injuries were reported in San Francisco, according to the Department of Emergency Management. Muni service remained unaffected Sunday, and the two major home sports games for the Oakland A’s and San Francisco 49ers took place as scheduled. And it appears no one lost power from the event in The City, according to PG&E....

Egyptian Holy Men are worried about symantics.

There is the point to make that ISIS/L is not a spiritual component to any Muslim's faith. They are international criminals and nothing less.

CAIRO — The top Islamic authority in Egypt, (click here) revered by many Muslims worldwide, launched an Internet-based campaign Sunday challenging an extremist group in Syria and Iraq by saying it should not be called an "Islamic State."
The campaign by the Dar el-Ifta, the top authority that advises Muslims on spiritual and life issues, adds to the war of words by Muslim leaders across the world targeting the Islamic State group, which controls wide swaths of Iraq and Syria. Its violent attacks, including mass shootings, destroying Shiite shrines, targeting minorities and beheadings including American journalist James Foley, have shocked Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
The Grand Mufti of Egypt, Shawki Allam, previously said the extremists violate all Islamic principles and laws and described the group as a danger to Islam as a whole. Now, the Dar el-Ifta he oversees will suggest foreign media drop using "Islamic State" in favor of the "al-Qaida Separatists in Iraq and Syria," or the acronym "QSIS," said Ibrahim Negm, an adviser to the mufti.
This is part of a campaign that "aims to correct the image of Islam that has been tarnished in the West because of these criminal acts, and to exonerate humanity from such crimes that defy natural instincts and spreads hate between people," Negm said according to Egypt's state news agency MENA. "We also want to reaffirm that all Muslims are against these practices which violate the tolerant principles of Islam."...

China was very correct in warning the USA Spy Plane.

PHOTO: The crew of a US navy P-8 Poseidon patrol aircraft took this photo of a Chinese fighter jet which is alleged to have done a barrel roll near the US plane. (AFP/ US Department of Defence
Both jets were within their rights in international air space. Do we want
another spy plane put on a Chinese tarmac? It was a warning. Chinese pilots
are good at what they do. They were good at what they do when Cheney lost
a USA spy plane and they are still good at what they do. If the USA doesn't
like a Chinese jet pilot with an ego, then make a complaint.

25 August 2014
The Defence Ministry (click here) says the claims are groundless and that its pilot maintained a safe distance from the US aircraft.
The statement was in response to a diplomatic complaint the Pentagon filed with Beijing which claims the Chinese jet came within metres of the US plane.
The Pentagon says the "very dangerous" incident happened 200 kilometres east of China's Hainan Island on Tuesday, near a Chinese submarine base.
Pentagon press secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby says the Chinese fighter jet made several passes at an P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine and reconnaissance plane....

The P-8A Poseidon is being designed to replace the P-3C Orion as a long-range anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft capable of broad-area, maritime and littoral operations....

And while the USA is complaining about the Chinese pilot they might want to examine their own pilot roster to find those that are flying by the seat of their pants as well.

Post 911 Syndrome.

I wrote this on August 6, 2014. Decided not to publish it because I felt the country was too far gone and making the statements was simply more or less an empty pleading. But, then President Obama took up the call and I felt I needed to say thank you.

"There is a real problem in the USA. The federal government has provided local governments with DOD prepared hardware.

There is no invasion into the USA by any armed foreign military.

In addition, the reason this mess continues is because there are too many guns on the street and the police are convinced they have to be 'swat prepared."

There is so much I could bring to the blog tonight I actually feel a bit overwhelmed. The life we live has become laced with perversions of power and leaders don't seem to be able to find their way back.

It isn't just the violence on the streets of the USA, it is the violent and unconventional wars we are asked to face. After September 11th the entire globe came together in the horror that was the imagination of a madman. It was a point in time when we all could have resolved to be a single peace and vow to never allow any other priority divide us. It was squandered for an oil war that included personal vengeance. We were so close to being a world resolved to end war and unite to protect from terrorism of our people. We were so very close.

I am going to pass on tonight and unwind. I leave this though. It is a time in our world's human history when life was valued above all else even in the face of war.

Summary: Basic rules of international humanitarian law in armed conflicts (click here)

1. Persons hors de combat and those who do not take a direct part in hostilities are entitled to respect for their lives and their moral and physical integrity. They shall in all circumstances be protected and treated
humanely without any adverse distinction....

We need to find our way back from the brink of ruthless lives at any cost. We need to find civilization again.

Good night for now.

Dying on the streets of the USA.

As remote Michael Brown, Jr.'s survival seemed and if I had committed this act against him in a moment of pure stupidity and ego; I would have sought to have stopped the bleeding with my own two hands while yelling call 911, call 911, call 911. Would I have saved his life? I don't know, but, I do know I would have stopped the profound blood loss of an innocent person with nothing on his own mind but the beginning of college.

Why didn't anyone in the community run to Michael's side? Lots of reasons, but, mostly they were seeing in fear for themselves and they weren't empowered to act in a community where victimization is a daily reality.

The crime scene is not as important as preserving life. It is murder to allow a person to die without the benefit of life support if one is qualified to administer it. Anyone owning a gun should be required to now basic CPR and First Aid.

One important detail. In order to say a person is dead they have to be PRONOUNCED as dead. A police officer, especially the one that committed the shooting, aren't QUALIFIED to PRONOUNCE the death of a citizen.

We have very intricate laws in the USA dealing with death. There are legal documents requiring health professionals to provide the right to die. Dying on the streets by a police shooting is a very serious problem. The one question that needs to be answered is NOT what did they do to deserve to die, but, why did they die?

The New York Times validates police abuse.

Michael Brown Jr.'s Body (Please click here, thank you)

The police methodology has taken on a very different definition when there is a police shooting. Police now act as soldiers when they fire their weapons as they kill citizens.

When soldiers take aim at an enemy they are not thinking about reviving him/her. At the very best they are hoping to take a POW for information and survival. The real definition of war is not sincerely about killing, it is about winning. It is why the President of the USA is required to have a strategy as Commander and Chief. However a war is waged the definition is about winning not necessarily killing. So, in the purest sense of the word, Homeland police are bringing war to the streets of the USA beyond that of what the US military is required.

When a police officer has successfully 'dropped' a citizen to the ground by the use of a gun OR OTHERWISE, including Tazer or fists; their first thought of course is their own safety, but, that has to immediately be followed by calling 911 and beginning CPR and First Aid.

In the case of Michael Brown after the officer decided to fire his weapon for no real reason at all, his next act should have been to run to his side and prevent him from dying. That should have occurred in New York City and in Sanford, Florida. But, that is not happening. When homeland police and armed citizens are using their weapons they are intending to kill as if they were on the hunt for 'human game.'

There is a great deal of difference in firing a gun to prevent attack and killing. By using a 'kill' methodology within any gun violence one has to bring to the forefront of the discussion the fact this is 'eliminating' people, reducing population and limiting outcomes in the country. It is silly to think about that with more than 300 million people in the USA, but, it is a valid point of view.
It was techtonic plate movement.

UNISYS Water Vapor GOES East Satellite (click here for 12 hour loop - thank you)

The tropical depression that was east of the Outer Antilles has moved northwest. It is now north of Puerto Rico. It is not sparing the small islands however.

It is moving into some water vapor and strengthen and will make landfall over North Carolina and Virginia.

There are currently three Cat 1 storms in the East Pacific which is lessening the acceleration of (what is the number of this one?) 4. Tropical Depression 4. It is lessening the strength of TD4 because the Pacific storms are driving atmospheric heat into the Pacific waters where it is absorbed. That was THREE Cat 1 storms in the East Pacific all occurring at the very same time.

TD4 looks diffuse, but, that doesn't mean anything. These Global Warming storms frequently look that way and all of a sudden surprise everyone to the strength and power they have. SS Sandy was a Cat 1 when it made landfall. It had a significant tidal surge and plenty of rain and wind. TD 4 is approaching the mainland USA where it will not only find water vapor at the shoreline, but, heat from the land as well. I would not underestimate this storm. It is wide which accommodates the heat within it in a different way than storms from 2005 and before.

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Seemingly (click here) at the end of a prolonged drought the island is now experiencing scattered showers and thunderstorm across several parishes.
The Meteorological (Met) Service said that a trough moving across the northern Caribbean, including Jamaica, is expected to bring unstable weather for the next three days.
Kingston and St Andrew, Manchester, and sections of St Elizabeth are experiencing thunderstorms, while sections of St Catherine are experiencing light showers while no rain has been reported in Montego Bay....

Congratulations to Jaheel Hyde (click here) at setting a record in the 100 meter hurdles at the Youth Olympics at the National Stadium in Nanjing, China.

Syria's Assad is going to have to accept The West's strategy and end the ISIS control of his country. Russia is doing nothing.

Western powers (click here) are coming under mounting pressure to do more to confront Islamic State (Isis) in its stronghold in Syria, as the heavily armed militants edged closer to taking an important air base that would cement their domination over a swath of the country's north.
As US aircraft continued to pound the Islamist militants in northern Iraq, the Obama administration was studying a range of options for pressuring Isis in Syria, primarily through training "moderate" Syrian rebels as a proxy force, with air strikes as a possible backup.
Leaders in Washington and London are adamant they will not collaborate with the regime of Bashar al-Assad in tackling their common enemy, and on Friday the Pentagon insisted that it had yet to decide on whether to expand the US air war into Syria....

The air strip is going to have to be destroyed to prevent any access to ISIS's military domination of the country of Syria. IN THAT, Assad has to allow The West to end ISIS's plans for the country.

The West isn't interested in destroying Syria, but, since Assad has no ability to end ISIS attack on the country, he has to at least allow those that can stop the progression of ISIS to continue it's advance. Assad will have nothing left if ISIS takes over the air field anyway.

If Assad believes Russia will come to his aid, he is wrong. If that was going to happen there would be no ISIS to begin with. Russia's politicians are all about Ukraine. I can't imagine Putin would deny the borders of Syria are in question at this point anyway.

ISIS has been taking control of Syria since March of 2013. Raqqa is dominated by ISIS.

March 5, 2013
Syrian rebels (click here) battling troops loyal to President Bashar al-Assad overran al-Raqqa after days of fierce fighting, and were now in "near-total control" of the northern city, activists said.
The fall of Raqqa, located on the Euphrates River, on Monday is a significant development in the two-year-old revolt against Assad. The rebels do not claim to hold any other provincial capitals.
Residents in Raqqa destroyed a statue of late President Hafez al-Assad (Bashar's father), according to amateur video footage distributed by activists.
Rebel fighters said loyalist forces were still dug in at the provincial airport 60 km from the city and they remained a threat. A resident said that a Syrian military intelligence compound was not in rebel hands but was surrounded by anti-Assad fighters....

Residents running from what activists say was shelling by forces loyal to President Assad in Raqqa, north-east Syria, where Isis fighters are closing in on a nearby army base

The "John McCain Rebel Alliance" became ISIS. It would come to fight other jihadist organizations such as Nusra Front for control of Raqqa. So, the USA has made quite a mess in Syria and there is no one to clean it up.

One thing you'll never hear on CNN or any other newsey organization is Bashir al Assad speak about the condition of his country and his ability to find off ISIS alone.

What McCain and all the Neocon Congressmen/women didn't count on was the fact the USA armed rebels would actually defeat Assad in a civil war and then turn into the world's greatest threat.

The problem is that once The West bombs the end of ISIS there will be still yet another power vacuum. If Assad doesn't fill the vacuum then who will, USA troops on the ground in another forever war?

While Damascus (click here) has until now turned a blind eye to the extremists’ expansion in Syria, their successes in the north and east threaten government troops, who are attacking them from the air...

Assad has been using his air force to target ISIS, the question is can Assad end the militants control of an airport they have in their sites.

Yes, indeed, the Holy Wars of all Holy Wars, "The USA vs. the USA's sponsored Syrian Rebel Forces battling ISIS."

I am not sure Assad will go along with any of The West's ideas, but, it is worth seeking his opinion.

Assad isn't completely defeated and by the looks of things it may be that he is actually defeating ISIS at least marginally.

The aftermath of an air strike by government forces on Raqqa (Reuters)

It is a curious thing in Syria. There are rebels, Syria's government and ISSI which has nothing to do with the Assad government. Where is Hezbollah these days?

August 22, 2014
The Daily Star
...Hezbollah and regime forces (click here) retook a number of villages on the Syrian side of the border this spring, including Flita. The regime, backed by Hezbollah, has worked in recent months to clear out the remaining rebel fighters from Qalamoun, which has been used as a transit point for fighters and weapons entering the country from Lebanon.
On Thursday, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition-aligned group that documents causalities from the more than 3 year old civil war, reported that at least 561 Hezbollah fighters had been killed in Syria since it began openly fighting on the side of the regime early last year.
The resistance party says it is fighting in Syria to prevent Islamist militants from bringing the battle into Lebanon. Syrian rebels have been blamed for a spate of car bombs that rocked Lebanon over the past year, mainly targeting areas with Shiite majorities and Lebanese Army positions.
The West has to get over it's POLITICAL hatred of Assad. It's nonsense already. Bashir al Assad is often accepted as an ally by Saudi Arabia and the Arab League.

In the same instance, Assad has to rein in Hezbollah's violence in Lebanon. It is the death of persons such as the Late Prime Minister Rafic Hariri that creates conflict between The West and Assad. Assad has a relationship with Hezbollah and it has served him well until the civil war and the inability of Assad's forces to fight off ISIS.

This gets to be very problematic.

Lebanon has a strong western culture and in order for Assad to prevent such influence in Syria he has relied on Hezbollah to fight the battles within Lebanese borders. There was a time when Beirut was always in ruins because of the frequent jihadist attacks.

August 15, 2014
BEIRUT- The Hezbollah leader (click here) described the radical Islamist movement that has seized large areas of Iraq and Syria as a growing "monster" that could threaten Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and other Gulf states, according to an interview printed on Friday.
In a separate speech, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said Islamic State also posed an existential threat to his own nation, Lebanon, the target of an incursion by Islamist insurgents from Syria this month. He said his heavily armed Shi'ite Muslim group was ready to fight the threat in Lebanon - if required.
The Iranian-backed Hezbollah has been helping Syrian President Bashar Assad fight a Sunni Islamist-dominated insurgency that spilled into the Lebanese border town of Arsal on Aug. 2, triggering five days of battles between the Lebanese army and militants including members of Islamic State....
The collapse of Iraq has created a common enemy for all the powers in the region. I half want to laugh, but, perhaps this provides a place where the region can come together to end the violence of ISIS. They nearly have to if they are to survive the ISIS regime. The only reason I can see a pause in this forward movement of the entire of the region identifying ISIS as a joint problem is that Assad has only begun his bombing of the ISIS stronghold.

I think Assad has to be heard from to determine what he sees as a legitimate need for western support within his country to end the domination of ISIS. The UK is mostly rejecting any alliance with Syria to stop ISIS. It may be that the UK sees ISIS as a faux-ally in ending the Assad leadership of Syria. The question is what happens after Assad is gone and ISIS has control of a country?

November 13, 2013
...Tripoli has seen on-off clashes (click here) between Sunni Muslim militants who support a revolt against President Bashar al-Assad's Alawite sect, which is an offshoot of Shi'ite Islam.
Ghiyyeh was a Sunni, but supported Hezbollah, and was close to prominent pro-Assad figures in Tripoli. In September, he was wounded when his car exploded moments after he parked it.
On August 23, twin bomb blasts outside a Sunni mosque in Tripoli killed at least 42 people and wounded hundreds in the deadliest bombing there since Lebanon's own 1975-90 civil war.
A week earlier, a huge car bomb killed at least 24 people in a Hezbollah-controlled part of Beirut.
Lebanon's political and sectarian divisions have widened since the Syrian conflict began with peaceful protests against Assad in March 2011 and later descended into full-scale warfare.

I am not so sure the region needs the USA dropping bombs in Syria. The Lebanese government mostly has control over the violence by Hezbollah even if it is after the fact. I think Assad has to be deferred to and then The West would be faced with some interesting choices. Russian seaports, a Hezbollah associated government being strengthened and the backlash into Lebanon that might cause.

TRIPOLI, Lebanon: The judiciary Friday (click here) released a man who had served his sentence over his involvement in Tripoli's clashes earlier this year.
Hasan Khalaf, known as Alliza, was released from Roumieh prison, the second convict this week, prompting his supporters to fire celebratory shots in the Tripoli neighborhood of Bab al-Tabbaneh.
A day earlier, Abou Taymour al-Dandashi, a militia leader also detained for involvement in clashes in Tripoli, was released from prison. He had served the equivalent of his sentence....

One cannot talk about Syria without talking about Lebanon.

This is what the problem is. Bush's invasion into Iraq completely destabilized the Saddam regime and basically left Iraq an abandoned and empty land except for the religious/ethnic communities. The Bush/Blair alliance then arrogantly believed they could run a campaign to win "The Hearts and Minds of the People." Sure that was really going to happen considering both countries are predominantly Christian. But, if you have the bombs, the military budget and the arrogance, why not? After all it bailed out Cheney with Halliburton, right?

Iraq was dominated by a ruthless dictator. Saddam and his sons were horrors, so what could be worse than that?

It all depends through what eyes one looks. I remember a film segment of an Iraqi man stating to American GIs, "What are you still doing here?" the day after the invasion by the USA and the UK. He was absolutely correct. Without Saddam to commit crimes against humanity the region would fall into the order that existed for millenium which fell along religious differences. As far as the people of Iraq were concerned they had their leaders, their clerics and Aytollahs. For some reason, Bush believed Iraq could be 'Americanized' similar to Japan after WWII. It was just pure arrogance, political mind speak and power brokering. There was no reality within Iraq that would subscribe to that outcome. The Shi'ites had been assaulted so many times in profound ways they weren't about to trust anyone beside their Holy Men. The Kurds had suffered, but, not quite as much as the Shea. Both nations of people had developed their own leadership and resolve under the No Fly Zones. For the most part the only entity left to deal with, as far as they were concerned, was Saddam.

With Saddam gone and The West talking about democracy and elections, the Shea dismissed that reality as something from Mars. The Cleric Muqtada al Sadr never recognized the Iraqi Central Government because the concept was completely alien and appeared to be a demon rather than a representative group of people governing the land. Of course, The West wouldn't put up with an autonomous Cleric and the people that followed him, so they attempted to destroy the Shea's leadership by sending the Aytollah to the UK for some sort of heart condition and attacking Sadr within one of the most precious Mosques within the religion.

I asked myself, "What the hell to they think they are doing by destroying the only profound leadership these people had known?" Well, long about the time I was asking myself that, the Grand Ayatollah was asking himself the same thing as he recovered from some heart procedure in the UK and ordered the entire of his people to march along the route to the Imam Ali Mosque. Well, that stopped the USA tanks and attack and the assault against the Shi'ite leadership was over.

One would think if the people of the Shi'ite nation were that well organized under their religious convictions maybe it was time to leave them to their own ideas of governance. Right? But, no that isn't what happened. The Western Bullies of Bush and Blair decided to then appeal to Sadr himself to gain his support. Sadr became interested, but, let's face it he is a Cleric with dead relatives because of a Western instilled government in Saddam. Hello?

In northern Iraq was the already independently governed Kurds. They were perfectly fine with whatever The West wanted to do and came to Baghdad to bring about a new reality.

Now, I asked myself, is Baghdad the real answer to the power vacuum Bush and Blair created and over and over again I failed to see a cohesive country with common borders. The differences were too great in all the nations of people within that then country called Iraq and quite frankly, An Albar which was Sunni, was the one province where the largest number of Western causalities occurred.

So, honestly. What chance did the 'country' of Iraq have without a brutal dictator killing off those that opposed him. And Saddam was Sunni anyway.

When ISIS grew as the civil war in Syria proceeded for now it's third year, it was ignored by Assad. Assad was too busy protecting Hezbollah fighters to combat McCain's beloved rebel forces. As ISIS grew due to the youth of it's members and was able obtain weapons with them coming across the Syrian borders like water in a flood from The West, it got the idea it could take over any and all of the munitions left in the care of the Iraqis. And it did. ISIS was able to defeat the 'so called' Iraqi military without hardly any opposition at all. It now had high end military equipment so 'its prayers (five times a day) were answered.' How is ISIS organized? Under extremist religious order.

Before the USA invaded Iraq there was stability. It was a horrible dictatorship, but, it was stable. The region mostly ran according to the dictates of Saddam, Assad, Mobarak, Abdullah II and Kind Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. Today, there is no governance in Iraq and the region has fallen into it's more natural elements of Shea, Kurd and Sunni with Baghdad as a gated community where the figure head government lives.

Now, The West wants to move into Syria to chase down ISIS. What will that do to the region? Is Lebanon at least stable with Assad fighting for his sovereign country? Yeah. Lebanon is still there and for the most part stable. What happens to Lebanon, Jordan and the region if the USA military is asking the American people to again be scaredy cats to some political nonsense by the right wing/Republicans, "The ISIS is coming."

There is plenty in this world in the year 2014 to be afraid of and The West's populous frequently gives into fear tactics and hate mongering. Wall Street. It is the idea a company can 'turn on and turn off' the consumerism with it's next best commercial.

It is time The West grew up and realized it cannot have the world exactly as some dreamscape of western domination and the wealth of commercial enterprise the size of billions of untapped human consumers. The USA military cannot continue to be 'the answer' to everyone else's problems as if they are sent from heaven above and the American people simply have to carry the fiscal burden of chronic war with an unending supply of Christian soldiers. That is Cheney. That is the Cheney dreamscape. Western domination of every inch of land and sea on Earth with the fiscal burden on the impoverished American worker and Christian soldiers.

Believe me the opposition by Republicans of the minimum wage is far more than their complaining of the loss of stockholder revenues, it has an expansive definition of which I will not continue to pursue at the moment. Let me put it this way, impoverishment has it's own fiscal benefits with an enforceable lifestyle. It is important the Democrats fight this fight against impoverishment. The Republicans don't care and Ryan is a joke with his 'designer Social Worker' dreamscape. Give me a break, 'designer social workers?' Is that not glamour directly from the best Plutocratic Koch Bros?

But, to decide about The West's invasion into Syria to pursue ISIS? I think Assad has to be given the chance to defend his country against ISIS. Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey are stable and want to remain stable. I think the USA has time to decide what happens with allies and Syria has to come to terms with it's own reality. I would think if Assad wants help from The West it would require a strong treaty before anything else happens to benefit the current Syrian government. Assad joined the Convention on Chemical Weapons in a matter of a week or so; Assad could easily agree to a treaty with The West in that much time or less.

Iraq? What Iraq?

The people of Gaza see three fallen Hamas heroes while the people of Israel see three dead terrorists. Go ahead and try to close that gap with bombs.

SIDON, Lebanon: At the Khaled Ibn al-Walid Mosque (click here) in the southern Palestinian Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp Friday, Hamas was accepting congratulations rather than condolences on the occasion of the deaths of three of its commanders.
Pictures of the Hamas leaders and other fallen heroes adorned the walls, while chants glorifying the assassinated leaders echoed throughout the mosque.
As the month-old Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip continued Thursday, Israel managed to assassinate three of Hamas’ top commanders by bombing a four-story building in Rafah....

The people of Gaza will change, it is up to Israel to stop the killing. Israel is killing families and innocent people. Who are the people of Gaza to turn to other than those that die for them? Hamas.

GAZA CITY: An Israeli air strike (click here) hit a house in central Gaza before dawn Saturday killing five family members, including two women and two children, Palestinian medics said.
Emergency services initially said three people were killed and five wounded, but later announced that two people had died of their injuries after the raid in Al-Zawayda near the Nusseirat refugee camp.
The air raid hit a family home, witnesses and medics said.
Doctors at the Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah said the five dead all came from the same family - a 28-year-old father, his 26-year-old wife and their two boys aged three and four.
The father's 45-year-old aunt was also killed, they said....

Abbas has to move forward the actions that will end the deaths of his people.

GAZA CITY: Hamas (click here) has signed a pledge to back any Palestinian bid to join the International Criminal Court, two senior officials in the group said Saturday. Such a step could expose Israel - as well as Hamas - to war crimes investigations.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has debated for months whether to join the court, a step that would transform his relations with Israel from tense to openly hostile.
Last month, Abbas obtained written pledges of support from his Fatah movement and other factions in the Palestine Liberation Organization, and said he would also seek the formal backing of Hamas, his main political rival....
Hamas said for several weeks that it was studying the idea....

If Abbas doesn't act to stop Israel from killing Palestinians this will be the result forever until there are no more people in Gaza. This is outrageous and for the most part the people of Gaza have been abandoned as society of criminals by the West Bank. Hamas will continue to seek it's power where it can find it, including the death of their own.

GAZA CITY: Gaza gunmen executed 18 Palestinians (click here) accused of collaborating with Israel Friday, including seven who were lined up behind a mosque with bags over their heads and shot in front of hundreds of people.
The killings came in response to Israel’s deadly airstrike against three top Hamas military commanders. The incident occurred after more than six weeks of heavy fighting between Israel and Hamas.
In new violence, at least four Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes in Gaza, while a 4-year-old Israeli boy was killed by Palestinian rocket fire. Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, vowed a tough response to the killing.
In all, at least 2,092 Palestinians have been killed since July 8, of whom the U.N. has identified about 70 percent as civilians, and 68 people have died on the Israeli side, all but four of them soldiers....

The Kurds and Shia now have acknowledgement by the US Pentagon the borders of the Former Iraq are fluid.

...Islamic State (click here) cannot be defeated without addressing “both sides of what is essentially at this point a nonexistent border” between Iraq and Syria, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Thursday...

General Dempsey went on to clarify from a journalist's question that ISIL (ISIS) can be defeated without crossing into Syria.

The autonomous regions of the former Iraq need to move before the United Nations to recognize their status as independent. I am sure they already have provincial authority that can easily move into being President and a cabinet.

General Dempsey points to the fact ISIS has ambitions to dominate the entire region and in that are allies to the USA. As of today, the countries in the region of ISIS activity are stable with secure borders.

It is obvious, isn't it? The Pentagon wants to invade the former Iraq. Right? Yeah. Very obvious.

I want to know why the Pentagon believes they can end hostilities in this region? Do they intend to kill everyone and start over? Is that the idea, because, we know FOR A FACT that when a militant group is destroyed it sprouts offspring. So, besides killing everyone and repopulating the areas with USA FRIENDLIES AND WALL STREET, what are their plans?

We have been here before, why is the Pentagon so very interested in killing with boots on the ground? It accomplishes NOTHING! It OBVIOUSLY accomplishes nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Kurds and Shea need to make their case for an independent nation and in the mean time they need allies that will help maintain their borders. When a USA Chairman of the Joint Chiefs sees moving borders and plans to execute strikes with that in mind, it is legitimate, legally binding and should be a priority of the people and other nations in the region.

There is no more Iraq. Get over it. It collapsed and isn't coming back.

The Kurds and Shea need to make their case before the United Nations.

It is just unfortunate the collapse of Iraq doesn't fit the Republican political dialogue in the USA.

When the Shia and Kurds make their arguments to the status of their nation and sovereign borders they need to call up the adversity they have suffered in the past decades under leadership other than their own people.

Workers Safely Tear Down Towers at Manhattan Project Site (click here)

LOS ALAMOS, N.M. – After decades dominating the Los Alamos National Laboratoryskyline, two water towers were safely demolished by workers in a matter of hours recently, bringing EM’s Environmental Projects Office at Los Alamos a step closer to transferring the land for future commercial or industrial use.
The towers were located in Technical Area 21 (TA-21), an early site of the Manhattan Project work at the laboratory, which is part of DOE's network of national laboratories. It was the location of the world’s first plutonium processing facility and where groundbreaking tritium research took place.
The demolition is a continuation of a large-scale environmental cleanup at TA-21 that began in 2009 when cleanup was funded by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act. Demolishing the 175-foot and 160-foot towers was one of several projects to remove remaining structures at TA-21.
“By bringing down these towers, we are making a noticeable difference in the skyline at Los Alamos,” Los Alamos Field Office Environmental Programs Assistant Manager Pete Maggiore said. “This is another positive step towards eventual transfer of this property to Los Alamos County.”...

A federal judge’s (click here) own experience with defendant P(edro). Leonardo Mascheroni, a former Los Alamos lab scientist accused of trying to sell nuclear secrets to Venezuela, factored into the sentencing Wednesday of Mascheroni’s wife.
Marjorie Roxby Mascheroni, 71, got a year and a day in federal prison, well under the mandatory 14-year minimum she could have faced had she been convicted at trial. In part that was because of a plea agreement negotiated with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which set her potential sentence at one to two years....
In a completely different case, scientists are pleading for the return of an employee. He worked in the non-proliferation wrote an article abolishing nuclear weapons, had his article cleared, it was published and then he was fired for having written the article.

SANTA FE - A group of scientists (click here) who work to limit the spread of nuclear weapons is urging the U.S. Energy Secretary to intervene on behalf of a fired worker at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Santa Fe political scientist James Doyle says he was fired after 17 years on the job in July after writing an article for a nonprofit web site in support of abolishing nuclear weapons. Doyle worked on the lab's non-proliferation team.
Federation of American Scientists President Charles Ferguson urged Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz to ensure that that Doyle isn't penalized for participating in the national dialogue over nuclear policy.
Doyle tells the Santa Fe New Mexican (http://bit.ly/1rpTbbs) he was fired after lab officials claimed his article raised classification concerns. He says the article had been cleared for publication.
Will the three autopsies of Michael Brown, Jr. all reach the same conclusion?

The private autopsy of the family was not allowed to look at other forensic evidence that is available to state and federal investigators.

The State and Federal investigations should concur, unless, there is a bubble of secrecy and protection surrounding Wilson by the city and state.

Vladimir Putin prefers an invading force rather than regional peace.

President Putin never accessed the many options the people of Eastern Ukraine have in regard to humanitarian aid. Putin didn't go to the United Nations, we all know this is propaganda driven and there is a reason why NGOs exist to bring aid to people in need. Putin is completely inappropriate and reflects Russian preference for isolation and aggression.

After a nearly 10-day standoff, (click here) at least 145 trucks of a Russian humanitarian convoy crossed into Ukraine on Friday without the permission of Ukrainian authorities or the accompaniment of the International Committee of the Red Cross — a step that Ukraine’s top security official called an “invasion.”...

Europe, NATO, Black Sea countries and the United Nations have to consider what this aggression means and how it is going to react to it?

Ukraine has every right to intercept the trucks and dispose of the humanitarian aid as it wishes. That means arresting Russian convoy drivers. They are in Ukraine without proper documents, therefore, they are illegal immigrants and perhaps even recruits for more hostilities.

Bullshit! Can he walk and talk at the same time?

Baghdad requested air support.
