UNISYS Water Vapor GOES East Satellite (click here for 12 hour loop - thank you)

The tropical depression that was east of the Outer Antilles has moved northwest. It is now north of Puerto Rico. It is not sparing the small islands however.

It is moving into some water vapor and strengthen and will make landfall over North Carolina and Virginia.

There are currently three Cat 1 storms in the East Pacific which is lessening the acceleration of (what is the number of this one?) 4. Tropical Depression 4. It is lessening the strength of TD4 because the Pacific storms are driving atmospheric heat into the Pacific waters where it is absorbed. That was THREE Cat 1 storms in the East Pacific all occurring at the very same time.

TD4 looks diffuse, but, that doesn't mean anything. These Global Warming storms frequently look that way and all of a sudden surprise everyone to the strength and power they have. SS Sandy was a Cat 1 when it made landfall. It had a significant tidal surge and plenty of rain and wind. TD 4 is approaching the mainland USA where it will not only find water vapor at the shoreline, but, heat from the land as well. I would not underestimate this storm. It is wide which accommodates the heat within it in a different way than storms from 2005 and before.

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Seemingly (click here) at the end of a prolonged drought the island is now experiencing scattered showers and thunderstorm across several parishes.
The Meteorological (Met) Service said that a trough moving across the northern Caribbean, including Jamaica, is expected to bring unstable weather for the next three days.
Kingston and St Andrew, Manchester, and sections of St Elizabeth are experiencing thunderstorms, while sections of St Catherine are experiencing light showers while no rain has been reported in Montego Bay....

Congratulations to Jaheel Hyde (click here) at setting a record in the 100 meter hurdles at the Youth Olympics at the National Stadium in Nanjing, China.
