Peak oil already happened. 2005. It was after Peak Oil was met the petroleum industry went into hyperdrive to drill with alternative methods that are causing earthquakes.
Since the petroleum industry decided radical measure to obtain carbon fuels out of the ground they state there is no such thing as Peak Oil.
They are wrong. They know they are wrong.
They also said there is no such thing as global warming and carbon dioxide could never be a toxic gas.
What the conservation community counted on was MORALITY and ETHICS. What it didn't count on was GREED. The conservation community thought all people were the same as they in realizing there were limits to Earth's carbon sinks. What they didn't expect is RUTHLESS from leaders such as Dick Cheney and Halliburton.
Basically what occurred was the petroleum industry pushing past DECENCY and the value of life. The petroleum industry values wealth over life. That was something the conservation community never thought any human being was capable of deciding. Never did the community believe the immorality of wealth would endanger the lives of all others.
What the conservation community began about 2 decades ago was to begin to look for REAL crops that would grow regardless of drought. All the rest of the wealthy has to say is, "Thank you."
