Iraq is a majority Shi'ite. They will not take up arms against Assad. They simply won't. The focus on IS/IS/L is legitimate for the entire region, including Iran.
The reason the focus on IS/IS/L is legitimate and I have stated this before, is because of their METHODOLOGY. The methodology of IS/IS/L is genocidal. They kill the men and inseminate the women. That is a genocidal definition according to any UN Charter.
What John McCain wants is what caused the collapse of Iraq in the first place. Literally, the Maliki government made the decision to maintain their Shi'ite majority and continue to arm only Shi'ites because of the concern for the death of their own citizens. The Shi'ites and McCain should know this has sustained huge losses of number of their people and they will not cooperate with the killing of Shi'ites. The new Prime Minister will not move against Shi'ites, I guarantee you that.
There is absolutely no reason to arm rebels from Syria UNLESS the coalition of nations believe that is the best way to proceed.
IS/IS/L is the danger and not Assad. Currently, there is a UN Referendum, which John McCain conveniently forgets, that demands a coalition government between the rebels and the Assad government. THAT is what the global community recognizes and McCain does not have a valid view of the world. John McCain prefers to fight a sectarian war in Syria and it will not stand. It will not stand globally or regionally.
