One night in late January, (click here) four midwives at the Kätilöopisto Maternity Hospital in Helsinki (Finland) were seen indulging the recreational use of nitrous oxide while on duty. They have admitted taking part.
The incident took place "in a delivery room after midnight, until around 2 am. The women were on duty," says Seppo Heinonen, a director of the Helsinki University Central Hospital, which runs the facility as part of the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS).
No deliveries were taking place at the time, he told Yle on Monday.
They are all "relatively experienced employees," he said, adding that "they are all professionally qualified and therefore should be aware of the properties of nitrous oxide."...
