Here is some vocabulary for you. It's physics.

When 'air turbulence' is accompanied by storms 'feeding off' each other, it is called OSCILLATION.

Got that?

Oscillation is an intricate 'dance' of physics between air masses through standard Earth dynamics of heat. The physics of heat and water vapor and the 'transference' of 'heat energy/calories' between air masses is called oscillation. "Heat Exchange." "Homogeneous temperature balance." It is intricate, difficult to measure as it happens within fractions of fractions of seconds, it is a natural aspect to the world, but, it is so fractionally fast it causes huge changes in 'turbulence.'

When jets meet up with 'unstable' air masses they literally can lose 'air density' through their turbines and stall. It is difficult to restart engines to a jet at that point. There has to be 'at least' 'air density' ENOUGH to reverse the flow of air through the turbine to begin it's spin again and then again one more time reversed to restart forward movement. The pilots are not at blame here. It is the understanding of a hot planet and how it's 'turbulence' in 'heat exchange' can effect air density and direction.
