The complaints about the F-35 didn't happen because of the media.

The only aspect of the program the media was interested in was Lockheed Martin commercials.

Lockheed Martin Corp., (click here) maker of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, announced it’s shaking up leadership on the Pentagon’s largest defense acquisition program.
Jeff Babione, who has spent more than two decades with the company and who previously headed up the F-16 Fighting Falcon and F-22 Raptor programs, has been tapped to succeed Lorraine Martin as the executive vice president and general manager of the F-35 program, according to a statement from Lockheed.
He will focus on ramping up production of the stealthy fifth-generation fighter to support initial operations of the Air Force’s F-35A variant in 2016 and the Navy’s in 2018, according to the company....

When the truth comes out Americans call their demands for change. The last thing the USA needs are loony balloons and the F35 Strike Fighter. When Republicans discovered computers really can be smart enough to make them look good, they jumped in with two feet. It is time to end the delusion.
