The Pacific storm pulled some heat out of the troposphere enough to begin air movement to the arctic regions again. It's better to today for now. The temperatures across the country are far different beginning this day. The circulation center at the North and South Dakota border is still there, but, it's populated with water vapor today. With better air mass movement to the arctic, the Pacific storm may fade, but, I am hoping not. It took a heck of a lot of heat to get it started though. Water vapor doesn't stay on the ground these days.

US Seasonal Drought Outlook May 16, 2013

The land is recovering slowly from east to west from the drought that seemed to have peaked last year. With hurricane season coming it should remain this way through the summer.

The reason it is recovering from east to west is due to the high vegetation biotic content of the land east of the Mississippi. Given half a chance plants and trees will grow. The vegetation is one of the answers to this global problem the USA created. Returning more of the land to forest will cause shade while sunlight and infrared is reduced. Reducing CO2 is necessary.

President Obama has instilled an aggressive wildlands program for two years in his first term. It has helped. The Republican House cut funding to the program and that was a mistake. The Jersey shore bore the brunt for most of the change. Let's hope there is no repeat performance.

Stop fracking public lands.

End of discussion.
