There is a really lousy phenomena in the USA. It is called insubordinating children.

When a stranger tries to abduct a child, it can have a devastating impact on the victim.Yet in Cook County, few such cases result in arrests or convictions. (click here).

This is an article by the Chicago Tribune. It is a series they published on the subject of child abduction.

For as much as children are a focus of so much of family life, the government finds them impertinent to legislation that protects them. It is often relegated to the states and then it is very inconsistent as to the point of view of the legislators.

Children are not an issue of States Rights. A child is a child is a child. What they need for nutrition, health, education is mostly the same no matter where in the USA a child lives. So, why is it at the federal level there is so much lack of interest in protecting them?
