I am fairly certain the "Iran Nonproliferation Act" dominates the policy of the USA.

The vigilance regarding Iran has been conducted for a very long time. It isn't as though we woke up one day with Israel threatening to bomb the nuclear facility. The efforts to stem all nuclear proliferation by Iran has been ongoing which leads to me believe there is a great deal Israel and the USA know about the potential for nuclear weapon capacity.
