October 19, 2005. 0930 z. Still in the dark. "Trick or Treat" Well, Wilma. It's been a struggle for a couple of days but we have fully blossomed. With all the 'eyes' now consolidated at a Cat 5 status, Wilma enters the record books. See, the one aspect to all this and what continues to plague The National Hurricane Center is that they discount 'Vortex Oscillation' while still seeking 'traditional definitions.' I knew this was coming a couple of days ago. It takes a while for the storm to work up enough vorticity as an 'eddy' to consolidate it's 'heat' budget' into one 'eye' but then everyone will say it just needed to find warmer waters. When one looks at the 'size' and 'reach' of the storm 24 to 36 hours ago there were portions already over warmer waters. The Pacific storm 16E has been dismissed but it doesn't look like it should be dismissed just yet. It's called oscillation/fluidity/ Posted by Picasa
