Look at this act of treason. They admit there are reasons for pursuing impeachment but seek to intimate the lawful ELECTED Representatives of the people. Pull their license, they are propagandists.

The United States of America UNDER the propagandists in FOX News and Talk Radio is a joke and their leadership, including Trump, is nothing more than clowns!

These propagandists are guilty of violating the public trust. End of discussion.

...And, like it or not, (click here) Trump remains popular with tens of millions of Americans. To overturn the results of an election for anything less than unambiguous evidence of criminal behavior is a danger to democracy itself.

At least that was my view until this week. Michael Cohen’s guilty plea changes this. The Constitution’s standard for impeachment is “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” The standard is now met.

Trump’s longtime fixer acknowledged in court on Tuesday that he violated campaign finance laws by paying hush money to two women “in coordination with and at the direction of a candidate for federal office.” That means Trump. That means that, as a candidate, Trump is credibly alleged to have purposefully conspired with Cohen to commit criminal acts. That means the duo did so “for purposes of influencing [an] election for Federal office,” which is the legal definition of a campaign contribution....

Is this a warning of a deeper problem? I believe this may be a national emergency considering the violence our children are seeing.

Three Rancho Cucamonga high school students (click here) and an elementary student have committed suicide since returning to school this month, officials have confirmed.
In an email to families Tuesday, Aug. 21, Chaffey Joint Union High School District Superintendent Mat Holton said counseling teams of trained therapists have been deployed to three high schools to work with students and counselors.
“There is no greater tragedy than the death of a young person,” the email from Holton begins. “The three deaths were unrelated and involved students enrolled at three of our campuses – Rancho Cucamonga, Etiwanda, and Alta Loma. One of the students had previously attended Los Osos. Our district and site teams have been in close communication with their families and loved ones and offer our deepest sympathies and continued support.”
The district has formed a mental health task force, made up of mental health professionals from each school site and community mental health officials, which is working to improve services available at each site. A larger community task force is also being formed, and the district is partnering with outside agencies, including the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health, private counseling services, mental health educators, and the local religious community.
Formal suicide awareness and prevention training for parents and school staff is available from the district.
A student in the Alta Loma Elementary School District has also committed suicide this school year, district officials confirmed....

The article does not list the METHOD or REASON for suicide, but, our children are not in a happy place. There is far too much violence in their world and they have ideologies that are based in fantasy and not reality. They can often believe a better life awaits them "...on the other side..." or as a soul reincarnated.

In March 21, 2013, (click here) in Southgate, Michigan, Tyler Nichols left his first period class at Davidson Middle School. He went into a bathroom, where he shot and killed himself with a handgun.

He was discovered by another student who alerted school staff.

The school of approximately 800 students was put on lockdown.

Students hid in their classrooms; police officers roamed the halls.

An hour later, parents were allowed in five at a time to pick up their traumatized children.

Tyler left an open suicide note in which he wrote about the difficulties of being a young teenager.

According to his mother, Tyler had only recently showed signs that he was struggling with depression.

A classmate said that Tyler “was loved by a lot of kids.”

Tyler was just thirteen years old. He was too young to legally possess a handgun, but he didn’t need to look far to find the gun he would use to kill himself. Like most children who die by gun suicide, he found the gun at home; it was in his father’s bed stand, unlocked and loaded.

Tyler’s story is staggeringly common. Every day, at least one child takes their own life with a gun: almost 500 American children die by gun suicide every year. Federal law prohibits gun dealers from selling firearms to people under 18 years old, but American children are obtaining them nonetheless; guns are used in 40% of child suicides. It doesn’t have to be this way: children in other high-income countries are more than 90% less likely to die by gun suicide.

And the problem is growing: over the last decade, the child firearm suicide rate in the United States has been on the rise....

The academic research is in and it is not pretty. From the New England Journal of Medicine. The violence culture in the USA has to stop. I never entertained the imagination of such programs as "The Walking Dead." It is a gross misrepresentation of reality and it is disgusting.

I could not tell you the name of any character, episode or outcome of any such movie, television show or internet video. I strongly believe when a human body is so distorted on a regular basis it brings mental illness with it, that includes other body disorders such as bulimia and anorexia. When human minds are told over and over this is the way society has valued them, the outcomes are inevitable.

Children are far too impressionable to look the other way and believe they are okay. They are not and the adults that allow such danger and violence in the USA are directly responsible.

...In 2005, (click here) the most recent year for which mortality data are available, suicide was the second-leading cause of death among Americans 40 years of age or younger. Among Americans of all ages, more than half of all suicides are gun suicides. In 2005, an average of 46 Americans per day committed suicide with a firearm, accounting for 53% of all completed suicides. Gun suicide during this period accounted for 40% more deaths than gun homicide.

Why might the availability of firearms increase the risk of suicide in the United States? First, many suicidal acts — one third to four fifths of all suicide attempts, according to studies — are impulsive. Among people who made near-lethal suicide attempts, for example, 24% took less than 5 minutes between the decision to kill themselves and the actual attempt, and 70% took less than 1 hour.

Second, many suicidal crises are self-limiting. Such crises are often caused by an immediate stressor, such as the breakup of a romantic relationship, the loss of a job, or a run-in with police. As the acute phase of the crisis passes, so does the urge to attempt suicide. The temporary nature and fleeting sway of many suicidal crises is evident in the fact that more than 90% of people who survive a suicide attempt, including attempts that were expected to be lethal (such as shooting oneself in the head or jumping in front of a train), do not go on to die by suicide. Indeed, recognizing the self-limiting nature of suicidal crises, penal and psychiatric institutions restrict access to lethal means for persons identified as potentially suicidal.

Third, guns are common in the United States (more than one third of U.S. households contain a firearm) and are lethal. A suicide attempt with a firearm rarely affords a second chance. Attempts involving drugs or cutting, which account for more than 90% of all suicidal acts, prove fatal far less often....

"...if we don't talk about is not going to get better..."

The flag, any flag, is a symbol. It is inappropriate to put a symbol in priority of human life. When the USA flag takes more importance than the lives of Americans it is called nationalism and it is dangerous. Nationalism is what is practiced by dictators to maintain control of the people and to turn one citizen against another.

Freedom of Speech, is not a symbol nor empty words on a page, it is an action. The ACT of Freedom of Speech is guaranteed to everyone in the USA and that is what is practiced when football players employed by the NFL "Take a Knee."

Michael Cohen has also refused any pardon from the Trump if offered.

August 21, 2018
By Eric Lach

On Tuesday, Michael Cohen, (click here) Donald Trump’s former lawyer and fixer, pleaded guilty to federal tax evasion and campaign-finance charges in a New York City courtroom, and the most significant moment in the proceedings came when Cohen asserted that he had committed some of his crimes “at the direction of the candidate”—meaning Trump. “The words ‘coördination with’ and ‘at the direction of’ will haunt the Trump Presidency,” The New Yorker’s Jeffrey Toobin told me, soon after the hearing. “Cohen directly implicated Trump as a co-conspirator in a felony.”...

There is no doubt what occurred here. There are tapes. Whether or not they are admissible in court is not the issue, politically those tapes are valid. The country has a right to relief from criminals sitting in the White House.

We heard how Michael Cohen set up a company to receive information about one of Trump's many affairs with women outside his marriage and we heard how creative the funding would be so it could not be tied directly to the candidate's personal or business or campaign funds.

The God Father was never implicated in all the murders he ordered either.

This in no way can be construed as being "The Deep State." There is nothing government about Cohen and the evidence points to crimes. What is there about the prosecutor in this case that is characteristic of a free wheeling conspiracy? There is nothing here to even begin to suspect government overreach.

Trump's base always cries, "It is the Deep State." What is not the Deep State? That is what I want to know. What about any law enforcement is not the Deep State? Anything in relation to the investigations not the Deep State?

Here ya go:

I don't think you can trust anything said by the guy who says anyone won't accept a pardon......not that one would be offered. "No thanks, i'll rot in prison", sounds reasonable.

Huh? Bolton is working with Butina and the NRA?

How much did the White House know (click here) about John Bolton’s work with a Russian gun group? That’s the question Congressmen Elijah Cummings and Stephen Lynch asked White House Chief of Staff John Kelly in a letter on Monday. Bolton, now President Trump’s national security advisor, appeared in a 2013 video filmed for the Right to Bear Arms, in which he encouraged the Russian government to loosen gun restrictions. The Moscow-based organization was founded by Maria Butina, who last month was charged with attempting to infiltrate the National Rifle Association as a covert Russian agent. “Given the alarming and unprecedented nature of these revelations — and the high-level position of trust Mr. Bolton now holds — we request that you produce documents relating to whether Mr. Bolton reported his previous work with this alleged Russian spy on his security clearance forms or other White House vetting materials prior to President Trump appointing him to his current position,” the letter reads....

22 weeks for voluntary abortion...

...with no limit in termination of pregnancy to save the life of the fetus and/or the mother. The anti-abortionists are not interested in the mother, they place the fetus in sainthood and dictate the woman's circumstances. Abortion is about the mother, it is not about the fetus. We live in a country with a healthy birth rate.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a stable birth rate for any country.

A federal appeals court (click here) on Wednesday upheld a permanent injunction blocking Alabama from banning the most common method of second-trimester abortion.

But two judges from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta used the 3-0 decision to cast doubt on the Supreme Court's abortion jurisprudence, including that terminating a pregnancy is a constitutional right. Some states are passing restrictive abortion laws they hope might win favor from a conservative Supreme Court.

Alabama was trying to enforce a 2016 law criminalizing the dilation and evacuation (D&E) procedure, which the state called "dismemberment abortions."

That law was challenged by the West Alabama Women's Center and Alabama Women's Center, the state's only abortion clinics performing the procedure. The American Civil Liberties Union represented them.

Last October, U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson blocked enforcement, saying the law would effectively ban abortions in Alabama after 15 weeks.

In Wednesday's decision, the first by a federal appeals court on the issue, Chief Judge Ed Carnes said the law imposed an "undue burden" on the right to end pregnancy before the fetus is viable....

How many current judges belong or had belonged to the Federalist Society? I expect the US Senate to be asking questions about their involvement to The Federalist Society and what exactly that means to their judgeship.

A jury has found (click here) former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort guilty after a three-week trial on tax and bank fraud charges — a major if not complete victory for special counsel Robert S. Mueller III as he continues to investigate the president’s associates.

The jury convicted Manafort on eight of the 18 counts against him. The jury said it was deadlocked on the other 10. U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis declared a mistrial on those other charges.

Manafort was convicted on five counts of filing false tax returns, one count of not filing a required IRS form, and two bank fraud counts.

The verdict announced Tuesday comes as President Trump has stepped up his criticism of Mueller’s probe, publicly criticizing the investigation on a weekly basis. As the Manafort trial began, Trump called for Mueller’s probe to be shut down immediately....

  • ...The campaign finance violations, (click here) however, are associated with Cohen’s role in alleged hush money agreements with two women, Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, who claim to have had affairs with Trump, according to sources briefed on the agreement....

Mr. Cohen had no interest in these women, except, to cover up the affairs for the sake of winning an election. Mr. Cohen was contracted by Mr. Trump to be his "fixer." There are definite reasons to believe that Mr. Trump had many friends lacking concern for the law. Does anyone seriously believe Trump is not implicated?

It looks as though the American people have a champion to defend their best internet interests.

The elite Russian military intelligence unit (click here) that interfered in the 2016 US presidential election has been trying to hack its way deeper into America’s politics. But there’s good news: Microsoft thwarted the effort.

According to Microsoft president Brad Smith, Russian government hackers created six websites that purposely tried to mimic those of certain conservative US think tanks, the Senate, and even Microsoft itself. The goal was to trick people into clicking through those fake pages, thereby allowing the hackers to steal information from the visitors. Microsoft says it found those sites — created within the past few weeks — and seized them after obtaining a court order to do so, rendering the sites useless to the hackers.

The company crucially noted it has yet to see any evidence that the websites formed part of a successful attack, and it’s unclear if the Russian operatives sought information from specific people. However, it’s completely possible that the fake pages carried malware, thereby allowing the Russians access to the computers of unfortunate visitors.

But the identities of both the hunters and the prey here are important....

The peripheral winds of Hurricane Lane are now reaching the big island, Hawai'i.

Kindly recall, hurricanes near Hawaii in general lose strength because coastal ocean water temperatures are less than open ocean waters temperatures. THAT IS NOT THE CASE TODAY.

This is the actual chart of the ocean temperatures surrounding Hawaii. EVERY measure is over average. The usual behavior of hurricanes, as experts might predict, is compromised with Hurricane Lane by unusually warm coastal ocean waters.

Water Temperature Table of the Hawaiian Island Coast (click here)

There is no continental shelf for Hawaii. That means there is little effecting approaching storms. Hawaii has two worries in regard to such storms as Lane, flooding of low lying land and wind driven waves (including storm surge) that extend inland.

Oahu has significantly more low-lying land compared to Kauai, and consequently hypothetical tropical cyclone landfalls show much more widespread inundation. Under direct impact scenarios, there is the potential for much of Honolulu and most of Waikiki to be inundated, with both still water surge and wave runup contributing. Other regions of Oahu show inundation confined to a more narrow coastal strip, although there is still much infrastructure at risk.
Even for very strong storms in Oahu and Kauai, maximum still water surge is relatively small, and does not exceed 3 m in any storm modeled. In contrast, hurricane waves several kilometers from shore regularly exceed 10 m due to the lack of a continental shelf....

It is unconscionable the Australian legislature is acting against the climate when such drastic changes are taking place in their beloved Great Barrier Reef.

Conservative parties, no matter the country, act in favor of profiteering rather than in favor of the safeguards for Earth's troposphere. They don't prioritize life, they pretend the dangers don't exist.

    Betrayed

I believe the Manafort jury feels betrayed by the judge. If my understanding is clear, one of the first requests of the jury was a copy of the law. That was not what they received. They received a recording of the judge’s instructions. They found out even though Paul Manafort is guilty as sin, they are completely on their own to determine the guilt backed up by ALL the voluminous evidence before them, albeit limited to the prejudice of the judge.

I think the judge abused his power to intensionally sabotage the jury. No judge has a right to interject cultural standards to a trial, that is why there are defense attorneys. The judge tainted the trial with enforcement of the “belief” it is not illegal to be rich. That is a ridiculous idea to enforce with a jury. Obviously, in the case of Paul Manafort it is illegal to be rich. The judge has muddied the waters for the jury and they know it.

To me, when the jury asked for a copy of the law, it indicated the jury has no faith or trust in the judge or his interfering dialogue.

    Monday, August 20, 2018

I don't recall anywhere in history where an erupting volcano was met by a Cat. 3 hurricane.

No one is entertaining the possible event of wind driven fire? The intensity of heat of volcanic lava is a whole lot worse than the heat that spawned California's 3 mile high fire tornado.

At the very least, there will be lava picked up and carried, either as fire or a very hot ember. The winds of Hurricane Lane need to be scrutinized for any potential direction of debris carried into populated areas. Hurricanes also spawn tornadoes. So, the level of wind direction MUST be paramount to any monitoring of Hurricane Lane.

Kindly recall, Hurricane Irma (click here) caused seismic activity along it's path that was recorded by underwater equipment. This potential carries new risks to the people in the path of these storms. If Lane is strong enough to cause enough underwater turbulence, the outcomes to the current vent and also closed vents has the potential to become a greater threat and more active. Lane may close the darn thing as well, but, I doubt that sincerely. If anything, Lane will encourage a wider vent opening or knock existing cooled lava to crack or chip to reopen the other vents.

The St. Maarten occurrence is worrisome with Irma. The greatest record of turbulence was not the external winds, but, the eye. That is completely contrary to what I would expect given the fact the eye of a hurricane is calm and absent of turbulence, especially a well formed eye as with Irma.

Nighttime scene from shipboard of lava entering the Pacific Ocean on July 12, captured from a scientific research vessel deploying submarine seismometers.

The visible part of Kilauea from the summit (click here) to the Lower East Rift Zone makes up only a small portion of the total volcano. Much of Kilauea lies beneath the sea, including the Puna ridge to the east and the south flank extending offshore beyond the southern coastline.

As the volcano grows, this underwater region of the south flank creeps slowly to the south, moving in fits and starts with earthquakes that last seconds (such the May 4 magnitude-6.9 event) and in slow slip events, which last for days or weeks. Many questions have been raised about the stability of the south flank, since other portions of Hawaii Island’s coasts show evidence of past landslides....

Kindly note, there was a marked difference between Harvey, Irma and Maria. Maria was a storm of extreme infrastructure devastation. (click here) BUT, it was Irma's footprint that caused seismic disturbance. If the maximum seismic disturbance is realized when the eye of Irma passed over head, that means the LACK of pressure/extreme low pressure will ALLOW OPPORTUNITY for movement.

I think it foolhardy to ignore the potential for danger to Americans. The winds and the eye have to be realized to have a greater danger than normally estimated with Hurricane Lane.

If the eye doesn't make landfall, which is still possible, the bands surrounding the eye will. I would not under estimate Lane. It is gathering water vapor in it's traverse across the Pacific and currently Hawaii is awash in water vapor that can become incorporated into Lane's velocity. The higher the water vapor content the greater chance there will be an acceleration in winds.

The GOP has absolutely no room to talk with the champion of bankruptcy sitting in the White House.

There is no doubt "the past" is going to become an issue as the political spectrum moves forward and people begin to take on addressing the qualifications of a candidate themselves. It is ridiculous to have last minute attacks on candidates because the vetting should have occurred long before the nominee won the primaries.

    As to the GOP, LOL!

There is "this thing" with the GOP that spans generations, it is called, "Look the other way." One begins to realize why religion is such an important ideology of the GOP, because, it portrays a CANDIDATE REFORMED. What a joke on the electorate.

"W" bankrupted three petroleum companies and had a history of drunkenness. Sorry, but, if these attacks are to sustain, that does not exempt the GOP's past. Cheney went from CEO of a petroleum company to the Vice Presidency by his own hand in lacking anyone else as qualified as he; to demanding the Rumsfeld Cabal to take shape and invade Iraq for it's oil.

The list is very, very long including the likes of Nixon. So, if the GOP believes it can capture the ideology of morality, they need to think again.

The Unthinkable is a loud validation to loss of civilization.

This is the loss of dignity and decency in the USA. Trump has now resorted to calling up closed immigration cases. I don't believe that is legal. A person in the USA seeking asylum is no different than a USA citizen for the period of time the legal case hangs in the balance. Once the case is closed and the people are allowed their asylum there is no doubt they have the same rights to a peaceful and productive life as any American.

In order to satisfy his base, Trump now assaults immigrants with closed cases and stable lives. These people have long established a home, source of income in work and children garnering an education that serves the country as witnessed with "The Dreamers." Trump is an ignorant oaf that has no cultural significance to society and removes all the characteristics of decency.

The couple had pulled into a gas station in San Bernardino, Calif., on their way to deliver their child. While they were there, Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers came to their car window and asked for identification, said the woman, Maria del Carmen Venegas.

Her husband, Joel Arrona-Lara, 35, did not have his driver’s license with him, and officers arrested him, she said.

The arrest quickly provoked outrage and fed into a growing anger toward ICE and the Trump administration’s sweeping immigration policies, which have expanded who is considered a priority for officers to arrest. In recent months, immigrants have been arrested while delivering a pizza or watering the lawn....

Conservatives of global politics are a profound hurdle to successful energy policy that does not assail Earth's troposphere.

It is a flat out rejection of sound science. I don't care what continent one speaks of the conservative parties are corrupt beyond hope. The climate issues are about the generations both current and future. There is no more noble a reason to reject ancient energy sources and embrace alternative energies. It is ridiculous what is occurring globally.

The most laudably corrupt conservative party is that belonging to Donald Trump. They don't care about effective policies that insure the future generations of Earth; everything is here and now, lacking civility and placing people in danger of real effects of a violent troposphere. If the rest of the world is taking example of that poor sap, then they sincerely need to learn to lead and not simply follow a piss poor example of greed of which the USA President claims. My god, he has turned the USA Treasury on it's head and the USA is accumulating trillions of dollars of debt per year now. That is not greed, that is abandonment of everything American.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull (click here) has staged another dramatic retreat on energy policy in the face of a dire threat to his leadership, removing climate change targets from the National Energy Guarantee in his second policy reset in four days.

The revised scheme will go ahead without federal legislation to stipulate a 26 per cent cut to greenhouse gas emissions under changes aimed at averting a challenge from Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton.

Asked on Monday morning whether his leadership was under threat, the Prime Minister declared: "I enjoy the confidence of the cabinet and my party room."

Mr Turnbull also said he had the support of Mr Dutton following reports that the Home Affairs Minister was being asked to challenge for the leadership and was inclined to run, with his supporters claiming he had majority support in the Liberal party room.

"Peter Dutton was at our leadership team meeting this morning. He is a member of our team, he has given me his absolute support," Mr Turnbull said....

When does the will of the people finally take hold? When it is too late and they have lost their promises of changing the future and securing the land, air and sea for their children? Is that when the people finally matter, when all is lost?

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton during question time on Monday.

It is not the public humiliation so much, (click here) even if Malcolm Turnbull will have those words of his from 2009 - “I will not lead a party that is not as committed to effective action on climate change as I am” – forever repeated to him.

It is not even that he has changed policy twice in a few days on one of the two or three central tenets of his period as prime minister.

Senior politicians, who talk all the time, inevitably say things that come back to haunt them. And leaders change policy for all sorts of reasons....

I reject the nuclear weapons crisis in whatever form the next brinkmanship takes as the priority of national security; the climate has taken precedent. The problem is that Earth doesn't have fist fulls of cash and lobbyists to pander to cronies of political parties.

Science and scientists are supposed to matter and why? Because the future, at one time in the history of civilization, children and their future mattered. The conservative parties around the globe have removed the promises of the future and replaced it with greed and here and now. That is hardly moral and in all places, Australia, there are still politicians willing to sell their votes and remove the power the people expected when the placed their ballots. Be very clear, the votes placed in Australia that elected the moral demand of climate science over the cronyism of ancient energy sources have lost their allegiance of the people they elected. When is this abandonment of civilization going to stop? If the answer is never, then Australia has lost it's future as has most of the world.

This Tuesday, (click here) keep an eye open for a nice conjunction of Saturn and the moon. They will be visible in the southern sky as twilight turns into night. Saturn was at its closest approach to the earth in June but remains a bright yellowish light in the sky. It is located in the constellation of Sagittarius, just above the topmost star of the so-called “teapot”.
