Johnson was personally picked by Trump. He is aa yes man. He took the position to protect the only economy he ever brought to Louisiana, detention facilities. Johnson kissed the ring and cowered when Trump spoke. He is correct to leave the leadership. He ain't one.
The Scalia entry on this blog was unfinished and I apologize.
Basically, the leadership left in the US House for the plutocratic Republicans reflects the extremism that lingers after the elections.
My understanding is Scalia and Jordan is being tapped to replace Johnson. That is the absolute worst position for Republicans going forward. They have to marginalize the extremists and become more loyal to the USA Constitution.
They need to look more like retiring Dan Bacon from Nebraska.
It is very wrong for the "left-over" Republicans to believe they are actually in power for the right reasons. They turned on this country's constitution and looked the other way. Jordan is the current chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. Give me a break.
Pulling the lever by their constituencies is a worry. What the heck are they thinking? What are they afraid of?
The new leadership of the "Grand ($1000.00) A Second Old Party," needs to redirect their ideology to include the constitution and the function of this democracy. The current choices being discussed are going to be yes men to Trump again and that simply won't work. If the remaining rightist members of the House want to be taken seriously they need to drop the hubris and rhetoric and get real about this country. The people won't put up with the mess they create.
I want to add the Democrats put it on the line for the people of his country. They shut down funding in attempts to end the run against the people by ICE. They were rewarded by having the people return trust to the Democrats. It was a show of benevolence toward the people in attempting to end the violence by Trump in our cities. Don't stop now.
The Former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi is leaving. She is retiring and rightfully so. She has been a pillar in this country and I can't thank her enough for strong female leadership and bringing home the Affordable Care Act. Her legacy and smile will always be remembered. She will be missed. I wish her and her spouse the happiest of days to come.
It looks like Scott Weiner will be coming to the US House and he is welcome (click here).

Representative Don Bacon of Nebraska (click here) has continued his criticism of President Donald Trump's push to acquire Greenland and his handling of the Russia-Ukraine war.
In the past week, the Republican also suggested Trump's approach to Greenland could prompt impeachment calls....
I think he would like to run for the presidency in 2028.

Rep. Don Bacon, the retiring Nebraska Republican (click here) who has represented an Omaha-area swing district since 2017, says his party needs to have an honest conversation about the future of the MAGA movement if Tuesday's midterms go badly. The five-term congressman and retired Air Force general has become one of the loudest Republican voices breaking with President Donald Trump over tariffs, and he is not shying away from saying so on national television just days before voters head to the polls....
