Anabolic steroids are manmade and dangerous. So, to eliminate the obvious problems high levels of testosterone are used for the same purpose. All hormones are steroids. The individual body understands it's needs. There is no one particular level of testosterone needed for the secondary sex characteristics of masculinity.
Steroids, the popular name for synthetic (man-made) substances related to the male sex hormones, promote muscle growth and the development of male sexual characteristics. Steroids are legally available only with a prescription. They are prescribed to treat conditions such as delayed puberty, some types of impotence, and body-wasting in patients suffering from AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). Steroids are abused, often by athletes, to enhance athletic performance and to improve physical appearance.
Elevated testosterone levels can cause cancer. A silent killer in young men is testicular cancer. This is from Mayo.
Testosterone therapy might seem like the ultimate anti-aging formula. Yet the health benefits of testosterone therapy for age-related decline in testosterone aren't clear.
Find out what's known — and not known — about testosterone therapy for normal aging....
Testosterone is sometimes used for better cognition as men as they age. It works, but, ultimately, there is a price to be paid for that use and when removed from testosterone replacement the man will need other anti-psychotics or medications used for dementia.
Testosterone therapy has various risks, including:
- Worsening sleep apnea — a potentially serious sleep disorder in which breathing repeatedly stops and starts.
- Causing acne or other skin reactions.
- Stimulating noncancerous growth of the prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and growth of existing prostate cancer.
- Enlarging breasts.
- Limiting sperm production or causing testicles to shrink.
- Stimulating too much red blood cell production, which contributes to the increased risk of forming a blood clot. A clot could break loose, travel through your bloodstream and lodge in your lungs, blocking blood flow (pulmonary embolism).
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia is not a minor side effect. It causes real life problems. A man should trust his body to produce enough testosterone for his well being.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a health issue that becomes more common with age. It's also called an enlarged prostate. The prostate is a small gland that helps make semen. It's found just below the bladder. And it often gets bigger as you get older.
An enlarged prostate can cause symptoms that may bother you, such as blocking the flow of urine out of the bladder. It also can cause bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems...

What Is a Normal Testosterone Level for Young Men? Rethinking the 300 ng/dL Cutoff for Testosterone Deficiency in Men 20-44 Years Old
Alex Zhu, Juan Andino, Stephanie Daignault-Newton, Zoey Chopra, Aruna Sarma 1, James M Dupree
...Results: Our final analytic cohort contained 1,486 men. Age-specific middle tertile levels were 409-558 ng/dL (20-24 years old), 413-575 ng/dL (25-29 years old), 359-498 ng/dL (30-34 years old), 352-478 ng/dL (35-39 years old), and 350-473 ng/dL (40-44 years old). Age-specific cutoffs for low testosterone levels were 409, 413, 359, 352, and 350 ng/dL, respectively.
Conclusions: Diagnosis of testosterone deficiency has traditionally been performed in an age-indiscriminate manner. However, young men have different testosterone reference ranges than older men. Accordingly, age-specific normative values and cutoffs should be integrated into the evaluation of young men presenting with testosterone deficiency.
Keywords: hypogonadism; testosterone.

There is masculinity and hypermasculinity. There is a huge difference.

...One growing corner of the digital world (click here) is the “manosphere:” a loose network of communities that claim to address men’s struggles – dating, fitness or fatherhood, for example – but often promote harmful advice and attitudes. As the United Nations Secretary General’s report on violence against women and girls highlights, these groups are united by an opposition to feminism and misrepresent men as “victims” of the current social and political climate....
In a world of wackos existing within Trump's cabinet, we are witnessing new recruits with illness rather than wellness. There are reasons for vaccines in the USA military. I really do think the focus of the Trump administration is not governmental so much as a satisfaction to Trump's ego and his billionaire opportunists.
The problem of instituting MEASURES of masculinity is to cause insecurity rather than character building. In the case of the USA military, Hegseth is seeking to eliminate women from the ranks. When an institution such as the military begins to measure testosterone as being normal or not it begins to define what a man is and what a man is not. The military is known to demand physical knowledge of it's troops, but, never from the point of view of changing characteristics to please a particular standard.
Ah, the feminazis.
Do these men actually want relationships or just trophy women?
The manosphere is a cultural issue. I am confident Trump would love to begin a fight with women in the public realm over their degrading of the manosphere. It is a cultural issue and no one needs to fight over a definition of a culture. It is what it is and the question is do women really want what the manosphere has to offer? Would a Dad or Mom want an artificial cult defining masculinity for their sons?
Personally. I think the development of the manosphere is a reflection of Trump's deepest insecurities.
How many wives has he had?
How many sexual assaults are registered for Trump?
I think developing the manosphere and all that mess that brings to mind hypermasculinity like the WWF is nothing but insecurity. The military doesn't need a measure of masculinity. The USA military needs a well trained and armored soldier.

There is military health care paid for by the people of this country. If anyone needs evaluation for HEALTH AND WELLNESS there are places to go to achieve that goal.
Infertility can be a problem for some couples, but, there are specialists that can help with that. There is just no real reason for Hegseth to be so obsessed with testosterone levels. It ain't all that. Ask a survivor of testicular cancer.
The WWF is about entertainment. It is not an arena where wars are determined or settled. It is about wrestling with a twist. It is not real wrestling either.
