Demanding USA occupation of Greenland is paranoia.

Congress needs to write limits on the Trump tariffs. The Senate and/or USA House Foreign Relations Committee has the responsibility to hold hearings and ask Rubio for the facts that set Trump’s tariffs.

Currently, Trump is using tariffs to intimidate and coerce the best of the USA allies.

There has to be a reason for tariffs. Currently the tariff structure is causing hardship for Americans. The Trump tariffs are causing hardship for our allies. Now Trump wants to use tariff structures to intimidate anyone who does not want to occupy Greenland.

Greenland is a sovereign possession of Denmark. Denmark is a good and loyal ally to the USA. There is absolutely no reason for the USA to attempt to occupy Greenland. Denmark, NATO, and the USA have cooperated for decades in regard to NATO security. There is no reason to change that relationship.

There was a meeting between Denmark, Greenland, and the United States in regard to this issue. Due to the climate crisis, the Arctic ocean is melting. Now shipping can move across the Arctic ocean which has never happened before. I don’t consider that an improvement, however it is a reality. Due to the opportunity for ships to move across the Arctic ocean, the security of NATO has somewhat of a challenge. There have been no direct conflicts with Greenland and any other country. The only apparent conflict Greenland has is with the Trump administration.

Since Mr. Trump has become woke to the possibility of open water in the Arctic Ocean, he believes the USA has to worry about its national security by taking possession of Greenland from Denmark. That is paranoia. There is absolutely no basis for that worry. Article 5 of the NATO Treaty takes care of all of that. The people of Greenland should have peace of mind and be able to work through their ideas of autonomy with NATO, Denmark, and Europe.

Currently because of the concern about Arctic Ocean open water countries belonging to the NATO alliance are sending military support to Greenland in case there is an incursion of their sovereign borders. Notable is the fact no one seems too concerned about Iceland. It could be because Iceland doesn’t have a whole lot of petroleum to pump.

Congress needs to do its job and contain Donald John Trump from carrying on this way in international venues.
