People die. They die in horrible countries and in horrible ways. When desperate people come to the USA, they adapt different postures when faced with our society and justice.

Part of our asylum laws is accepting the desperation of the seeker in trying to save their own lives and the people they love. A family is the lifeline of the American people and to remove that part of an asylum seeker’s life by labeling children and spouses as terrible names, like anchor babies is just not appropriate or a hope for the family’s success.

Immigration has been the mainstay to American democracy. So many people who have come from foreign lands have contributed to our society and economy beyond any wild expectations as citizens.

I am sorry, but, the treatment of immigrants, be they legal or otherwise, is horrible. It is as if the USA has completely lost its moral compass due to a minority party that simply hates others because of their skin color or nationality. That is not allowed in this country. A president willing to pander to a four percent of the electorate of this country by sending away basically innocent people simply trying to save their own lives is not a representative of my values nor that of my country.

The President is a leader and not a despot. I am ashamed of the ways this president completely disregards the importance of every human life within the borders of this country and that includes the homeless.
