I am sure Russia would approve .

The government channel in the USA is C-Span. C-Span does a great job and exhibits no corruption. Enough of the harassment of the press and Trump needs to do his job and stop trying to sabotage the democracy of the USA.

CNN does a good job. They have good anchors. Wolf Blitzer is highly reputable and has been on international assignment in the past, especially where the USA has interests with their troops.

Enough.

President Donald Trump (click here) said that would compete with CNN for viewers across the globe, a suggestion that prompted comparisons to networks run by the governments of Russia and China.

In afternoon tweets, Trump took aim at one of his favorite targets, CNN, which he said "doesn't do great" in terms of US ratings but has "very little competition" outside the country, where it is a "powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair and false way."

"Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!" Trump said....

Wasn't FOX holdings sold off after the UK debacle where a missing girls phone was hacked into and the fallout that went along with that?

Sensitive personal details (click here) including salaries and redundancy entitlements of senior staff at Rupert Murdoch's News Corp Australia have been emailed across parts of the organisation as it battles staff disquiet over layoffs.
News Corp Australia staff expressed shock at receiving an email about 9am on Wednesday, detailing "the redundancy summary" for employees "over 200K".
The email reveals a redundancy entitlement of nearly $210,000 to The Australian's contributing economics editor Judith Sloan and details her $357,000 salary....

If the US government were ever to nationalize any competition with CNN it probably would be the new career move by Don, Jr. The government would be paying the salaries and expenses of such a venture. The USA government doesn't need rating wars. Most branches of the military already have their own media service, including newspapers.

US regulators (click here) have cleared Walt Disney Co's plan to buy most of 21st Century Fox, removing a final barrier to the $71.3bn (£54.2bn) deal.

The approval requires the sale of Fox's regional sports networks in the US, due to competition concerns, the Justice Department's antitrust division said.

Disney, which had signalled willingness to sell the sports networks, said it was "pleased" with the decision.

The deal still needs approval in other countries to go forward.

Disney is planning to buy Fox's entertainment assets in the hope of beefing up the range of content it can offer, as it plans services to compete with streaming companies such as Netflix.

Fox, which is led by Rupert Murdoch and his family, plans to retain its news and sports divisions, creating a new company for those holdings, which include the flagship Fox News Channel.

Five reasons why the Murdochs are selling Fox to Disney

The Justice Department said without the sale of the 22 regional sports networks, the deal may have led to higher prices for cable sports watchers in local markets, where Fox and Disney currently compete....
