The democrats have a perfect storm in 2012 if they choose it. They are the heroes.

The Regressive Republicans can say whatever they want about 'leverage' but the fact remains, the extremist agenda is known and it would have passed the Senate only to be vetoed by the President if there was a Republican majority.  By exmaple with the current Governors, the Republicans are too extreme to be in governance.  They are power brokers for Wall Street and nothing more.  The people of this country are suppose to be the focus of the government, not private enterprise.

Details are emerging of the contentious agreement to fund the federal government for the rest of fiscal year 2011, including money that will be spent on programs that House Speaker John Boehner and his GOP majority tried to eliminate.
Boehner, President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid agreed to the $1.049 trillion deal late Friday night and averted a government shutdown. It includes $28 billion in new spending cuts for the remaining six months of the year, on top of about $12 billion in reductions that have already been approved by Congress....

We need taxes raised on the wealthy and we need to concentrate on 'real' reform rather than 'playtime' reform.  Targeting the discretionary budget is really nothing and will never solve the country's problems.  It is time to take on the real challenge and Republicans just don't know how.  They don't know how.  Their 'legitimate' attempts at governing fail all the time.  Ryan's Proposal is ridiculous.  The Republicans simply don't know how to govern, they only know how to play 'showboat politics.'

We need solutions, not politics.  The Democrats can deliver that.
