Pope John Paul II in Islam. This is the Omayyad Mosque. The mosque was built over consecrated Christian land. That is not an insult. Not at all, when one considers the Iman Ali Mosque is built over the Iman's grave. This visit was more than a visit to Islam. It was the Pope visiting Christian Holy Land as well. Needless to say, all went well.
