A Nobel for Sistani

conti2005 - 9:13 PM ET March 20, 2005 (#23875 of 23875)Democrats and Independents Get It RIGHT the FIRST TIME

Thomas is that you?

A Nobel for Sistani

I mean for real? This isn't like something you thought you might write to win people over?

You're right. You could not be more right. It is The Grand Ayatollah's destiny to be the First Ayatollah to win a Nobel Peace Prize.

His compassion, his passion, his longing for freedom and the caring of his flock for decades came to a pinnacle when he left a London Surgical Bed to rush home to Kufa/Najaf and declare a pilgrimage that would not only stop the USA Military and it's coalition dead in it's tracks, but, saved countless lives including those of women and children.

Those civilians were fearless. They weren't about to 'stand down' for any military on sanctified ground. No way. I knew that. I knew it would be a blood bath. A relished Neocon blood bath.

He literally 'flew' to the masses of people that trust him with their lives, their children's lives, their souls and their future in every way.

He managed that flock to keep them with him and obedient and mercifully away from genocide while adding just enough 'fear' to the mix for Saddam to realize 'Sistani was no one's fool nor was the only living decendant of the al Sadr family.

Yes, Thomas. Absolutely. A Nobel. There is no one else that deserves it. No one.

I can't believe these are your words but there they are in plain sight for the entire world to see. A conservative New York Times editor actually praising the one person most responsible for the lives of the Shi'ites and the peaceful future of the nation of Iraq.

You know, Allawi, couldn't bend low enough to Sistani upon his return granting al Sadr all his demands. Allawi knew. He knew NOW that the entire 'episode' that took Sistani away to London was a plot against the young cleric. What I wouldn't have given to be a fly on the wall to that conversation.

How do I say thank you to you, Thomas?

Don't turn around now and expect me to love Big Oil or Bush or Cheney. They are criminal to the destruction of Earth and the deaths of multitudes.

No slight of emotional hand now, Thomas.

Wow.

This is like nothing I EVER expected to read from you.

Wow.

I am grateful for your bravery.

Very kind and outreaching indeed.
