KFAR AZA, Israel — Israeli American Keith Siegel (click here) doesn’t do politics, he said. Even, and especially, after he was kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, and held hostage in Gaza for 484 days.

But when asked about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s closing argument going into Tuesday’s voting that only he can keep Israel safe, Siegel simply said, “I don’t agree.”

On the eve of the first election since then, Siegel, now 67, made a rare visit to his home in Kfar Aza, a kibbutz a mile from the Gaza border where 80 people were murdered and 19 were taken captive by Hamas on Oct. 7.

As automatic gunfire and mortar rounds went off in the distance near the Palestinian territory, Siegel said he wanted the devastation and trauma to end.

“I hate war and I hate killing and I hate death, and unnecessary death, from my point of view,” he said. “I don’t only think about us Israelis, I also think about children in Gaza that were born into this reality they didn’t choose.”...

Netanyahu has waged a throw down the gantlet inhumane war.

Some of the greatness that was Gaza was the ability of the Palestinians to create a great city. Gaza was being transformed, not of resorts and casinos but of the dreams of the Palestinian people. Containment of both sides of mutual hate was necessary to allow the growth of a civilization worth protecting and enjoying. It is my belief Gaza now lies in disastrous debris because Netanyahu was afraid of that reality.

I could never understand the attacks on hospitals. It was a clear violation of the international laws. The way Hamas lying in hospitals should have been handled is for arrests and imprisonment carried out with potential of death sentences after trial. That would have been the way a civilized people would have done it. But, instead any Palestinian, any human being in Gaza for that matter, was the enemy. That was not the case. But, seeing every man, woman, and child as the enemy only justified the destruction of the infrastructure that had become Gaza.

The USA was never called in to mitigate the tragedy of October 7, 2026. The alliance was unimportant to the IDF. Securing Israel would have been an admirable pursuit that would have saved lives of innocent people while routing out Hamas. I could not understand that either. Why would Israel go it alone in such a destructive and deadly way? The elections in the USA in November would put Trump back into power and with that a partner in killing. I believe the assignment given to Trump occurred in his first term with the honors of a square in Jerusalem in his name along with a future Israeli community. I can't help but speculate that Trump put Iran in his sites long before he decided Hegseth could carry out assaults on peaceful use of nuclear capacity with GBU-43/B bombs. Let's face it with land and landmarks in his name didn't Trump have a vested interest in Israel, besides the religion of his son-in-law (click here).

Going forward, it is the responsibility of the USA to hold hearings to bring about the truth of the attacks into Gaza. There were international laws broken and people killed unmercifully and without cause. The destruction of Gaza has created more reason for hate and more reason to stop the hate. 

The war in Gaza is wrong.

The war in Iran is equally as wrong.

The opposition to these wars is not about deciding the religious justification according to ancient text, or as revenge for past genocidal sins, it is about protecting the sanctity of life without hatred or bias as to whom lives on Earth. 

Accountability has to be clearly understood to be the only form of justice that exists in a world of civilizations.

Benjamin Netanyahu (click here) won the support of an unexpectedly clear majority of Israeli Jews in an election billed as a major turning ​point in his nation's history, apparently ensuring he will survive as prime minister at least in a caretaker role.

With around 70.7% of votes tallied on Wednesday morning, Israeli media forecast Netanyahu's bloc of ‌right-wing, far-right and ultra-Orthodox parties winning 54 seats in parliament, far surpassing 47 for the opposition bloc of rival Gadi Eisenkot. Parties representing Israelis of Arab descent would win 19....

It has been three years and no formal trial. Killing with American weapons has become a preferred way of justice for Israel. There seems to be no end in sight. The methods and reasons for war are questionable as well. October 7, 2023 (click here) occurred, but, the retaliation for those deaths has taken on a gruesome reality with a death total of 73,928 (click here), including 20,179 children and 12,500 women.

One of the justifications for attacks on hospitals were the tunnels. There is growing evidence that was nothing but propaganda. There were never tunnels under the hospitals and the attacks are a clear violation of every international law on the books.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) (click here) reported on Wednesday that its troops eliminated three operatives from Hamas' Nukhba unit last week in the Gaza Strip.

"Last Thursday, the IDF struck in the southern Gaza Strip and eliminated Ahmed Muhammad Ahmed Baraka, a Nukhba terrorist in Hamas' military wing," the military said in a statement, alleging that the operative participated in the October 7 attack.

Additionally, the IDF stated that its forces killed Omar Awadallah and Mahmoud Mohammed Al-Nimr in the strip last Friday, claiming that both were members of the Nukhba wing, while the former one served as a "platoon commander."...

The United States says it will issue visas to Flávio Bolsonaro and his family (click here), amid multiple reports that the defeated Brazilian presidential candidate has left the country following Sunday's election. His whereabouts have not been independently confirmed.

Bolsonaro, a conservative politician and ally of President Donald Trump, lost Sunday's presidential election to incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva by more than four million votes, just three weeks after winning the first round. While Bolsonaro's Liberal Party has since recognized Lula's victory, Bolsonaro has refused to concede defeat.

On Tuesday a senior U.S. administration official said that the State Department would issue visas to Bolsonaro and his family, allowing them to enter the country....

The Islamophobia is getting out of hand.

It is too much to expect the Republican candidates to call out the million-billionaire ads that seek to create irrational fear about the Democratic candidates for the USA Senate, so let me give it a go.

I have never seen that dish being prepared in the video below. Heck, I have never heard of it before. As a young person my grandmother would fix some profoundly Polish dishes for Easter. Every Easter she would have her homemade Polish Kishka in a basket along with other items she planned to serve at Easter Breakfast and Supper. She then donned her babushka and went to the church basement with all the other women to have her basket blessed. 

Pizza has a long history. Flatbreads with toppings were consumed by the ancient Egyptians, Romans and Greeks. (The latter ate a version with herbs and oil, similar to today’s focaccia.) But the modern birthplace of pizza is southwestern Italy's Campania region, home to the city of Naples.

The United States of America is a melting pot. It is not okay to bring people from other countries to the USA to fill employment needs and then turn around after promising them a dream come true deport them back to the nightmare where they left.

Every ethnic population in the USA has faced discrimination at one time or another, but, they were able to get to the other side of the discrimination and bring diversity to this country with a deeper knowledge and acceptance of difference. 

There is a problem with the current Republican party. They want to have the country abandon not just people of different skin color, but, our proud heritage as a melting pot of ethnic diversity that has culturally enriched this country. It is good for Americans to accept difference and exercise tolerance to create a strong country. Every ethnic identity in the USA has served in the USA military. Every form of religious practice has been within the minds and hearts of the soldiers that proudly defended this democracy and sacrificed their lives. Those soldiers and their faiths are displayed on the tombstones in Arlington National Cemetery and national cemeteries all over this country. 

In the year 2026, the Republicans want to rule this country by taking a majority in the USA House and USA Senate. They are not interested in governance. They are mocking diversity and proliferating hate for difference by creating fear of a religion and culture. 

Look, I want this recipe. I have never tried the dish but it looks plenty interesting. 

I may not wear the traditional dress of the Muslim women, but, I have relatives that wore babushkas to church and by damn it, they will continue to do so if they want to. I welcome the breath of fresh air and the amazing energy of Abdul El-Sayed. It is good to have a guy on our side that is a physician. He knows what it is like to be a patient and seek the help of competent people to solve complicated problems of longevity. 

Any fear mongering to instill islamophobia is not truth in advertising, it is tabloid nonsense and does not belong in a moral USA.

Daylight Saving Time concludes this weekend, November 1, 2026, across most of the U.S. and Canada. Clocks will fall back one hour at 2 AM local time to 1 AM, granting an extra hour of sleep and shifting sunrise and sunset an hour earlier. This change occurs despite the U.S. House passing the Sunshine Protection Act, which aimed to make Daylight Saving Time permanent; however, the bill has not yet become law. Consequently, most Americans will still adjust their clocks. Some areas, including Arizona, Hawaii, and parts of Canada like Alberta (starting 2026), do not observe these biannual changes. Public opinion largely favors ending clock changes, though there's a split between preferring permanent standard time or permanent daylight saving time. DST is set to resume on March 14, 2027.

Get involved.

Corruption cannot occur when voters are involved in elections. Investment in participation often leads to more and more interest in the outcomes of the elections. That means there is honesty in reporting and honesty in the elected government that follows. When people police their own officials by following their votes and the content of the legislation passed, there is no way corruption can exist. 

Read newspapers. That is the best advice I can provide. Read more than one. The newspapers are required to report the truth. I am not talking about the tabloids or infotainment. I am talking about the solid newspapers that have been around for a long time. Their archives about the living history of this country is amazing. Then follow up the information with action and write the people you voted for and set the record straight as to where his country's legislation should take us.

What I like about Texas Paul is his frankness in assessing the immoral, corrupt, and simply mean spirited politicians that want to always cause waves rather than governance.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva wins (click here)

All I heard what how poorly President Lula of Brazil was doing. He was supposedly going to lose his re-election. That didn't happen. Quite frankly, I would have been very surprised if President Lula did lose. He has been a magnificent president for Brazil. The people really loved him.

The nonsense about how President Lula was going to lose was about money. The "talk" was about how there would be no more regulations and Wall Street would have huge profits where they could not otherwise. No lie. That is what the anti-Lula talk was all about. Brazil is Latin America's largest economy. If there is a loss today in the Brazil market it is because they were artificially inflated with ideology of greed. The place to look to understand the nonsense about President Lula losing are the Brazilian market investors that got out of their investments the night before the election.

The people rule in a democracy. Don't ever let that slip away.

What is expected of our military?

When an American joins the military they expect to have to answer to a chain of command. It is how the military works. In the past the people at the top of the Pentagon had the most education and experience to direct operations for the country's national defense. Those at the top would never accept the issuance of illegal orders. As a matter of fact when the USA was deployed to the southern border of the USA and the country was stunned, General Mattis (click here) (Trump's first term) openly stated it was a legal order.

Honestly, the one place that lists all Senator Kelly's accomplishments is Wikipedia. When serving in the military, including NASA, he never blinked at the devotion he shared with his brother for the needs of this country. Never once. He was there for all of us and did the hard stuff. When he retired it was only right he entered a civilian life to pursue wherever his interests lead him. We were lucky to have him elected as a Senator and he has brought invaluable insight and dedication to this country yet again. 

The assault of the Secretary of Defense in Trump's second term is oppression of the truth. Hegseth is attempting to punish Senator Kelly to bring him to heel to the demands of a disturbed president. 

We are democracy. 

We have laws. 

We are proud of our military.

We depend on the women and men that line the halls of history in defending this country and our allies.

There is absolutely no way a civilian that was once a celebrated military officer should receive the type of treatment and disregard for his honest assessment of this country, it's national defense, and the legality of the commands to our military. 

Secretary of Defense Hegseth has lead one of the most failed Defense Department in this country's history. The reasons are far to many to mention here. But, I am certain for those in the USA Senate that spoke out against illegal orders they know all to well how failed this defense department has been and lives lost unnecessarily.

Returning function to government is occurring.

The United States of America is a democracy. Appointees to important jobs in the federal government can be from any party. Their job descriptions do not allow for partisan politics as a punishment or revenge of the members of the opposite party.

A federal judge ruled Monday (click here) that the Department of Justice (DOJ) unlawfully fired and must provide back pay to Maurene Comey, former FBI Director James Comey’s daughter who was terminated as a prosecutor last year.

U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman rejected the Trump administration’s arguments that it had constitutional authority to fire her.

“Defendants’ argument is contrary to an unbroken line of Supreme Court decisions dating back almost two centuries, and the Supreme Court itself has not formally overruled any of those decisions. That is sufficient, in itself, to reject the argument,” Furman wrote in his 55-page opinion.

Maurene Comey has since taken another job and won’t be returning to the DOJ. But the judge’s ruling retroactively reinstates her, provides her with back pay and restores pension benefits for the four-month period before she took that new role. It also orders an update to her personnel file to reflect that she resigned instead of saying she was fired.

The Hill has reached out to a Justice Department spokesperson for comment.

Vance, yes the Vice President, has not only moved his family to a prestigious ranch for their comfort after a new birth in the family, he has spent a lot of time with Ericka Kirk after the assassination of her spouse.

In all honesty I have been waiting for this. Mrs. Kirk is not the domestic peace woman everyone wants to believes she is. Neither was her late spouse. Charlie Kirk never cared about honest debate regardless of the facts presented to him by others. He was only interested in politics and converting young adults to voting for extreme values. His Christianity served his political interests well.

Now at the headquarters of Turning Point USA, which Kirk grew from a small youth organization into a movement with global reach and the ear of the White House, his team is increasingly focused on an electoral mission.

To some extent, they’re gearing up for the midterm contest just eight weeks away, in which Republicans are bracing for losses. One reason those losses seem likely is erosion among the young voters Kirk played a major role in rallying in 2024. But Turning Point’s main focus is now 2028, when the group intends to play a key part in getting Kirk’s close friend, Vice President JD Vance, elected president....

I fully expect the university to take on these monsters saluting Nazism. Where are the Jewish organizations to make a stand as well? This is Trump. He believes in all this mess. The Late Charlie Kirk was a Trumpee. Ericka is no different.

I have hesitated to take this on because young Right Wingers have a right to their First Amendment rights. But, in all honesty, the Kirk movement has a lot to be desired. JD Vance is hoping this all will come his way in his bid for the presidency in 2028. Vance is expected to do the same thing the Late President Gerald Ford did for Nixon, pardon him from all his wrong doings.

A Turning Point USA faith leader (click here) is calling on President Donald Trump to intervene after Australian lawmakers grilled a Christian church leader about his religious beliefs, including whether he influences members' marriages, hairstyles and even pet ownership.

Lucas Miles, vice president of faith at Turning Point USA, told Fox News Digital he contacted the White House Faith Office and several administration officials over what he described as a politically motivated investigation into the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church.

At least two attendees at a Turning Point USA event (click here) at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo made Nazi salutes toward protesters Wednesday night, prompting condemnation from university officials who called the gestures antisemitic and deplorable.

Videos published by Mustang News, Cal Poly’s student-run newspaper, show two men making the gestures outside the campus Performing Arts Center during Turning Point USA’s “America: Love It or Leave It” tour stop. The newspaper reported that at least three attendees made Nazi salutes toward protesters.

The event drew hundreds of attendees and more than 70 protesters, according to Mustang News....

Just as a note to bolster "the truth;" JD Vance is a passive participant in all the Trump schemes.

Why is this bribery important? Other than it is a crime, this is an election season and Trump expects not only a personal reward, but, the donations beyond what Musk is capable of.

Trump's second-in-command insisted recently that the entire Trump administration wholeheartedly rejects "pay-for-play" schemes and "anybody getting rich off of their connections to the government." In response, all Chieng could do was sarcastically laugh.

"Maybe JD is right. When have you seen allegations of corruption in the Trump administration?" he asked. "There was his ambassador to Greece and his crypto deals, his IRS slush fund, his son's wedding party, his son-in-law's real estate deals. But those were weeks ago! When have you ever seen corruption allegations this morning?"...

The U.S. Department of Justice (click here) filed suit against the Alaska Division of Elections late Thursday, seeking to block the division from certifying the result of the state’s U.S. Senate election if the Democratic challenger, Mary Peltola, wins.

President Donald Trump told reporters on Friday in Florida that he ordered the lawsuit be filed.

“I’m the one that said, ‘do it,’” he said.

Peltola is the leading opponent to incumbent Republican Sen. Dan S. Sullivan, and polls show her with a small lead over Sullivan, but the race also includes two other candidates — Republicans Gerald Heikes of Palmer and Dan J. Sullivan of Petersburg.

In the complaint, the Department of Justice claims that Dan J. Sullivan’s candidacy is “frivolous,” and was intended solely to confuse voters and benefit Peltola.

Until there is an investigation to determine the extent of that confusion, the Department of Justice argues, Alaska should not be permitted to certify the result of the ongoing Senate election.

Legal experts immediately dismissed the federal argument as bunk....

There are real issues. When Trump pulls his identity theft of a candidate it instills concern where it does not belong. It distracts from the FACTS that his administration have failed EVERYONE.

The country doesn't concern itself with Alaska that much. It has been a bit more independent because of the petroleum industry, but, the climate has had it's toll there, too. The salmon are an industry. While they are wild in the Pacific Ocean they are still an industry for Alaska as well as a tourist interest. There are a lot of problems and no one is dealing with them. It is an inconvenient truth for Trump to actually take on the real issues so much as deflect to the wars he has created to bolster his ideology of being a power broker. 

Trump has had TWO years to get it right and he hasn't yet.

One of the contractors, Nicholas Slatten, (click here) was serving a life sentence for first-degree murder, and the others — Dustin Heard, Evan Liberty and Paul Slough — had each been sentenced to between 12 and 15 years for voluntary manslaughter. Their convictions came after the largest and most expensive federal investigation since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The accompanying White House statement, which came among a batch of 20, claimed that the pardons were “broadly supported by the public,” citing specifically Fox News personality Pete Hegseth and a number of conservative members of the House. The statement described the 14 deaths and other injuries as “unfortunate.”

The four convicted killers, all military veterans, worked for Blackwater Worldwide, a security firm founded by former Navy SEAL Erik Prince, brother of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos. The State Department had contracted with Blackwater to provide private protection for U.S. diplomats in Iraq. The company changed its name to Xe Services in 2009, and then changed it again to Academi after Prince sold the business to private investors in 2011...

If USA Congress were to allow the continuance of war there is no telling whether drones purchased by private mercenaries such as Prince would be turned on the people and infrastructure of the USA. Trump's communist leanings only allow for mistrust and the Republicans always go right along with Trump's aggression. It has to stop. Putting Republicans back into any majority is dangerous.

Erik Prince’s proposal to bridge the Afghanistan air force’s capability gaps (click here) with his own private air force faces a mountain of legal hurdles, government oversight, and raises new questions about private military companies operating in roles typically in the purview of nation states.

On Wednesday, Military Times reported that the former Blackwater CEO had submitted a proposal to the Afghan government to contract services using a private fleet of attack aircraft, gunships, transport planes, and intelligence assets to help the war-torn country’s fledgling air force transition over the next two years....

It is called assimilation.

I don't know all the facts, but, the facts are probably illusive. The Omar family was ESCAPING a war in Somalia where people wanted to kill them. It wasn't just them, but, people of their region of the country.

Now I ask myself, "Self? Would you keep a name that a war lord from Somalia could trace?"

In all these accusations Trump is relying on the naivety of the public to the intricacies of immigration, background checks, friends, neighbors, and co-workers.

USCIS sends this data to the FBI and cannot schedule the asylum interview until the FBI returns a final criminal background result. Vetting spans multiple federal databases. Applicants should bring proper ID, disclose criminal history on Form I-589, maintain consistent biographical details, and consider legal representation....

This should never be an issue a few weeks before an election.

President Trump has publicly called (click here) for Representative Ilhan Omar's resignation, citing a claim that her real name has been falsified. This call to resign is based on confirmation from the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, who believes the Justice Department has evidence of identity falsification....

But, since Trump is full of hatred of ethnic differences, there are issues on both sides it would seem.

The problem here is that Ilhan Omar already is supposed to look guilty so therefore Trump's actions with the DOJ and the raid on her home is supposed to be above reproach.

Trump is not above reproach. These are tactics to instill fear and change his own fate. If there are PROBLEMS they should be set for hearing and fairness in Due Process should ensue, not grand standing and defaming a House Representative before she has had time to hire legal help and challenge the DOJ's assertions. Due Process is not tabloid exploitation and never should be.

Due Process is a very serious paradigm and Trump should be more reverent to the USA Constitution and citizen's rights.

Trump and Musk are damn assholes for the communists.

Americans better be paying attention. their favorite Space X hero does business with the communists. Trump is a traitor to allow the communists to breach the USA national security. This is an OUTRAGE!!!!!!!!!!

Putin didn't get this close to the satellite all by himself. He has been getting cooperation from Trump and Musk. If anyone says differently I don't buy it.

Trump likes to think of himself as a brave man simply because he has Hegseth stalking and killing in countries without a national defense that can stand up to our muscle. But, this is where national security counts. This is warfare Donald. The Russian satellite should have already been shot down.

The USA should never allow this type of infringement on any of it's PROPERTY. That USA satellite is an asset and Russia is threatening it and attempting to intimidate this country as if it is some kind of superior military might. 

Maj. Jason Watson knew more than any other American and spoke up that Trump should be impeached. He is correct. Donald has sold out this country to our enemies and he continues to do so. 

He is attempting a power move with identifying with China and Russia as great friends to the USA. Some kind of idea to end nuclear armaments. That is bullshit. Trump is attempting to intimidate Europe and NATO. Put your thinking cap on, what does the world order look like if the USA, armed with nukes, becomes the ally of Russia and China? THAT is what Trump wants, not aligning with NATO. Don, Jr. is right he needs to find a home in Moscow with his oligarch friends.

Some Republicans are waking up to the fact their lies and misdirection over the past two years can’t be replaced by taxpayer money bribes of $10k.

Early voting has started in some states but most states will start early voting this weekend. Trump and Vance are using the power the American people grant the Executive Branch in an attempt to destroy these elections. The tricks up their sleeves are many but the integrity of honest, truthful, and ethical elections are up to the states, not Trump. That is true of federal elections as well. Trump’s last minute tactics are not about the Rule of Law, but, instead intimidation.

Vote. If you are in this country legally and have proper documentation and meet eligibility requirements for voting don’t be intimidated.

If there were legitimate concerns for improper voting in any election it should have been caught long before now. The states and the county governments are the real measure of inaccuracy.

The Secretary of State is responsible for tabulating the results as reported by precincts. It is the precincts that know the territory and irregularities. The precincts are rather local. They don’t need federal law enforcement running around causing problems with the orderly progress to a final tally reported to the state or local officials.

I believe in the integrity of the people volunteering to ensure the election. They are one of you. They are local folks interested in the same thing the voters are interested in, an accurate election. The election workers are good people with good intentions. Have confidence in your vote. It matters.
