Northern hemisphere hot and southern hemisphere cold.
























The percentage areas (click here) of the contiguous United States are computed based on the U.S. Climate Divisional Dataset. Those climate divisions having the monthly average temperature/total precipitation in the top ten percent (> 90th percentile) of their historical distribution are very warm/wet and those in the bottom ten percent (< 10th percentile) are very cold/dry.


The diagram above show the imbalance as it developed during the Industrial Revolution. It is damning. The very warm measurements in June of the 21st century far out ranks any very cold percentages.

It might (click here) be called the Sunshine State but Queenslanders are shivering with Victoria and New South Wales thanks to the icy cold snap swirling across southeast Australia.

The blast of Antarctic air has already stirred strong winds in parts of Victoria and NSW and caused the temperature in Melbourne to drop to 7.7C on Saturday. The temperature in Brisbane was expected to dip to a low of 11C yesterday and 7C today and tomorrow.

For the first time in two years, parts of Queensland are anticipating snow....
