Just a few days (click here) after officially launching his campaign for president in 2016, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will meet with potential voters in Ames on Saturday with an event at Torrent Brewing Company.

Sanders, an independent who is seeking the Democratic nomination, announced he was joining the 2016 race in late April, but held his official campaign kickoff in Burlington, Vermont, on Tuesday.

Saturday’s event will begin at 2 p.m. at Torrent Brewing, 504 Burnett Ave. There will be a sound system set up in the parking lot outside for people under age 21 to be able to hear Sanders speak and answer questions.

So far, Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are the only two official candidates for the 2016 Democratic nomination, although former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is expected to make an announcement about his 2016 plans on Saturday....
