Chin up, these victories are not all that.

The reason the campaign against the President has been so strong is because he is a tireless leader. He has brought enormous change to the American landscape. All one has to do is look at the disastrous condition of the country in 2008 and where we are now to realize President Obama is a great president. Republicans are going to hate an great Democratic president. They still hate Bill Clinton.
But, the primary victories in this election were in red states that were due to return to Republicans in elections. The real victory is showing what it takes to win any election in the USA anymore. It is ridiculous. The USA has a very hostile majority in the Supreme Court and they have undermined democracy.

..."No major party (click here) has ever been as unpopular in the history of polling as the Republican Party is," pollster Mark Mellman said at a recent discussion sponsored by the Bipartisan Policy Center, a Washington think tank. Mellman is one of the Democrats' most prominent pollsters, which would make his judgment on the GOP suspect but for the fact that many Republican strategists share it.
Republicans have been able to make gains this year in large part because voters tend to use midterm elections to vent frustrations at the party in the White House. Presidents Reagan, Clinton and George W. Bush all saw their party lose control of the Senate during midterm contests....
