Senator Kelly Ayotte practices political safe harbor and scapegoating of the voiceless.

The political safe harbor is the complaint by Senator Ayotte their will be gun registration leading to seizure of weapons throughout the country. That is a lie and if she does not know that is a lie then she is operating her elected authority in a vacuum and without concern for the people she is suppose to serve. She needs to evaluate her staff and their ability to successfully prepare her for a vote.

We know for a fact the weapons on the street of the USA are in many instances in the hands of people that are not necessarily citizens and are criminals willing to use those weapons to kill people and not game animals. That is a fact.

The weapons Senator Ayotte is protecting are in the hands of people without the right to have them. The weapons in question to date in the Feinstein Amendment do not have protected status by the USA Constitution. That is a fact. These weapons are within the border of the USA, in the hands of citizens or non-citizens without the protection of the USA Constitution. It is up to legislators to pass law to remove the dangers of these weapons from our society. Many, many moons ago legislators removed automatic weapons from our streets and it is time to update the laws and bring violence and death from guns under control. Thirty thousand or more deaths per year by guns is nothing to ignore. The government has the responsibility to address this, unfortunately, Senator Ayotte doesn't understand the constitution or the need for public safety.

Suicide rates among middle-aged Americans (click here) have risen sharply in the past decade,...

...More people now die of suicide than in car accidents, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which published the findings in Friday’s issue of its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. In 2010 there were 33,687 deaths from motor vehicle crashes and 38,364 suicides.

Suicide has typically been viewed as a problem of teenagers and the elderly, and the surge in suicide rates among middle-aged Americans is surprising.

From 1999 to 2010, the suicide rate among Americans ages 35 to 64 rose by nearly 30 percent, to 17.6 deaths per 100,000 people, up from 13.7. Although suicide rates are growing among both middle-aged men and women, far more men take their own lives. The suicide rate for middle-aged men was 27.3 deaths per 100,000, while for women it was 8.1 deaths per 100,000....

A significant part of this suicide rate is guns. Men that commit suicide use violent measures to achieve it while women are more passive using overdose to accomplish the task. But, guns are an issue in the death rates of Americans in the USA.

It is a huge mistake to scapegoat mental illness as the reason for this American phenomena. It is not mental health that is the issue, it is financial stress and hopelessness that brings about desperation in living in the USA. So, in relation to suicide the problems go much deeper than mental illness. Senator Ayotte is ignoring the reality of her constituents when she removes herself from facts and legitimate measures to end the deaths affiliated with American phenomena.

In other countries mental health really is not a huge issue because it is not effected by gun violence. In the USA, mental health problems are complicated by guns flowing freely through the society. So, to maximize mental health as a huge problem while diminishing the gun component is an incredible mistake and will not result in sincere salvation of life to people.

The guns in the USA in the hands of those that should never have them is a profound problem. It is real. It is measurable. It is fact. The legislation the Senate has within it's agenda portrays a real need in the USA. Children die for no reason. That is an issue and it is an issue that needs to be addressed through legislation to correct the path of our society. The gun component in the USA is on THE "W"RONG PATH. There is more appreciation for violence with guns than sports such as hunting. That is a wrongful path within our society causing real death. Any legislator walking away from their responsibility as is Senator Ayotte are violating their oath of office.

This is where Senator Ayotte is focused. The money, no different than Jeff Flake, it dominates their campaign interests. These Senators receive a great deal of money from the gun lobby. That is the concern of Senator Ayotte and Flake. They don't care about the needs of their constituents and seek to distract and deceive their way to victory in elections. It is just that simple. They are not living up to their oath of office.

Last month, four months after the Newtown, Conn., (click here) shootings kicked off a renewed battle over U.S. gun laws, gun control advocates were dealt a devastating blow: After months of behind-the-scenes negotiations, bipartisan dinners and personal presidential entreaties, the Senate voted down a measure that would have expanded background checks for U.S. gun buyers, scuttling the primary gun law thought to have a fighting chance to make it through at least one - if not two - bodies of Congress.

For pro-gun groups like the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Gun Owners of America, both of which had been working hard behind the scenes to make sure the measure didn't have sufficient support to gain Senate passage, the Senate's actions marked a critical victory. The overarching Senate gun bill was tabled, and gun control advocates found themselves scrambling, after months of work on the so-called Manchin-Toomey compromise, to find a new path forward....

There is not anything else to say about this problem. Guns and their free flow through our society is causing problems. The Senators ineffectively dealing with the truth about this problem may indeed need mental health evaluations themselves.
