False Narrative

With all due respect for all involved, there is no comparison between the USA taking of Osama bin Laden and the bombing in Qatar.

When the USA apprehended Osama bin Laden it put our soldiers at risk. Why? So there would be no collateral damage. Our best of the best went in and fought their way to his chambers and even held one of his wives aside while unfortunately he was killed. Ultimately the best scenario was bring him to trial.

Additionally, the apprehension of bin Laden did not involve dignitaries. The area where bin Laden was finally apprehended was a secret compound. The entire operation was to get in and get out without detection. Unfortunately, one of the helicopters malfunctioned and his body along with our soldiers had to return in one helicopter.

There was no major explosion and whatever violence occurred was because our soldiers being faced with small arms display by those attempting to shield the international terrorist. The circumstances with Qatar are in no way similar.

The Hamas negotiating team was on safe, sovereign, neutral soil. They were there to end a conflict that has ravaged the Palestinian people. There have been open demonstrations in Gaza denouncing Hamas. If the negotiating team were a band of criminals then they should be charged and the cooperation of Qatar sought in apprehending them to trial. If Hamas is no longer representative of the Palestinians, then the negotiations were always going to be mute.

Qatar should be careful in how it offers to negotiate with Hamas as they are not representative of the Palestinian people. There is a reason Israel became angry over even having brought Hamas to the table, but, to raise the ugly head of violence to a neutral country is not an answer. Israel needs to move before the UN Security Council to eliminate any and all official recognition of Hamas. Hamas is a terrorist organization. They no longer have legitimacy to represent anyone yet alone the Palestinian people.

I am very sorry to hear all of this occurred in Qatar. If the Prince wants to find a better way forward for Palestine then he and his dignitaries should continue on that path. A better start would be bring the Palestinian Authority to the peace table and continue in that direction.

Please.

Please put peace first with partners that do not hold terrorist tactics as a legitimate method of defense or better said anti- semitism. Negotiators must set their hatred and anger aside and find a peaceful solution for the Palestinians.

The ideology of some kind of resort placed on Palestinian land in Gaza is a huge insult to a people attempting to stay alive. When ideologies are substituted for humanitarian solutions to guarantee the elimination of genocide it is obstructing the peace we all look for and create obstacles that should never exist.
