Schuette was absent for more than a year while the people of Flint were poisoned.

Tesla's billionaire CEO Elon Musk (click here) will reportedly pay for new water stations and water filtration for the entire Flint Community Schools district.

On Thursday night, the school district tweeted its effusive thanks to Musk and the Musk Foundation, which the tech entrepreneur founded in 2002 with his brother, Kimbal. 

The district serves more than 4,500 students K-12.

"You're most welcome," Musk replied. "Hope to do more in the future."

Flint - Four years after the Flint water crisis started, (click here) environmental journalists from around the country have come to the city for a firsthand look.

The Society of Environmental Journalists' 28th annual conference kicked off Wednesday, Oct. 3, with forums, panel discussions and field trips tied to issues including Flint water, the Great Lakes, climate change and urban renewal.

Programs continue through Sunday, Oct. 7.

"We believe it is a historic conference," said Emillia Askari, co-chair of the event. "The national journalism community was negligent in looking at (the water crisis) for too long ... We were one of the institutions that let Flint down."

Bringing the SEJ conference here and estimated 600 participants is "one of the positive things we've done - bringing economic activity to Flint and raising its profile," she said....

Several Flint commmunity leaders (click here) said Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Schuette has a record of ignoring the people of Flint.

They spoke at a press conference Wednesday organized by the Michigan Democratic Party.

According to Chris Martin, pastor of the Cathedral of Faith Church in Flint, Schuette ignored 15 complaints in 2015 from residents reporting bad water quality in Flint.

Martin said complaints about bad water and health problems had fallen on deaf ears in Flint. 

"So people went, of course, to our number one law enforcement officer, and nothing was done," said Martin.

"Schuette should have been more proactive than just last year going on a head hunting mission because he's running for governor," said Martin.

Five of the 15 complaints sent by Flint residents to the Attorney General's Office were from January 2015.  Schuette announced an investigation into the Flint water crisis one year later. He filed charges against various government officials in 2016 and 2017....
