The single system has divided into two. I was hoping it would be easier to see in enhanced infrared. It isn't over. The northern vortex is still gaining strength and the system moving east is still full of heat. Just because the sun went down doesn't mean the danger ends. Some of the most dangerous storms have happened in the wee hours of the day from conflicting temperatures between day and night. There is also latent energy in the air radiated off the surface of Earth that continues to heat the air.

Illinois has had dozens of tornado warnings in the past few hours. That is the reorganization of the vortex and the increased up-spring of turbulence.
