This is outrageous. She was heavily sedated by an overdoes and no one did anything to reverse it?

Just get the organs harvested, huh? Why waste the effort to protect life before opting for organ harvesting. Unbelievable.

...The hospital's mishandling of the case was part of the reason the state Health Department fined St. Joe's $22,000 last September -- the largest fine levied against a Central New York hospital since 2002.
St. Joe's was fined $6,000 over the Burns case and $16,000 for leaving a patient unattended before she fell and injured her head in 2011...

How did any medical professional not even attempt CPR on a supposedly dying woman? One of the protocols in Advanced Cardiac Life Support is to check body chemistry and give a drug that reverses drug induced coma. Like, what is this? 

...The state health department fined St Joseph's US$6000, after determining the hospital ignored signs she was still alive, such as her toes curling when a nurse scraped the bottom of her foot, her lips and tongue moving on the way to the operating room and her nostrils being flared - a sign she was still breathing....

There are many more vital signs that goes along with any overt signs of life that includes EKGs, blood pressure, pulse, auscultation of heart and breath sounds. What is going on in hospitals?

...A series of mistakes (click here) that began shortly after Burns arrived in the emergency room suffering from a drug overdose led to the near catastrophe, the investigations showed. A review by the state Health Department found:
*Staff skipped a recommended treatment to prevent the drugs the patient took from being absorbed by her stomach and intestines.
*Not enough testing was done to see if she was free of all drugs.
*Not enough brain scans were performed.
*Doctors ignored a nurse's observations indicating Burns was not dead and her condition was improving....
