Could it be that "The Green Jobs" that would transform some communities actually needed a czar?

With the resignation of green jobs advisor Van Jones, the conservative firing squad is setting its sights on other White House czars.John Shinkle
The Republican Right Wing Bozos in the Media are directly responsible for the continued unemployment rate along with their puppet legislators.  What is there to understand?
...Mr. Reed (click title to entry - thank you) called the opening of the new headquarters of SolFocus, which produces large, free-standing solar panels, an “enormously important” development for the city’s economy....

...But SolFocus assembles its solar panels in China, and the new San Jose headquarters employs just 90 people....

China?  China has solar panels?  Joking.   You mean to tell me China is not as antiquated in their energy sources as the USA?  I'll be darn.

...“I won’t say I’m not frustrated,” said Van Jones, an Oakland activist who served briefly as Mr. Obama’s green-jobs czar before resigning under fire after conservative critics said he had signed a petition accusing the Bush administration of deliberately allowing the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, a claim Mr. Jones denies.
A study released in July by the non-partisan Brookings Institution found clean-technology jobs accounted for just 2 percent of employment nationwide and only slightly more — 2.2 percent — in Silicon Valley. Rather than adding jobs, the study found, the sector actually lost 492 positions from 2003 to 2010 in the South Bay, where the unemployment rate in June was 10.5 percent.

Federal and state efforts to stimulate creation of green jobs have largely failed, government records show. Two years after it was awarded $186 million in federal stimulus money to weatherize drafty homes, California has spent only a little over half that sum and has so far created the equivalent of just 538 full-time jobs in the last quarter, according to the State Department of Community Services and Development….
The federal efforts have failed?  Well.  I am not surprised the state efforts are failing then because whom on the federal level has coordinated these efforts?
Upfront costs to any homeowner is an issue regardless of solar panels or not.  Why was it that Cash for Clunkers was such a successful program?  By some chance was it because it had an Auto Czar?  Ya think.  But, wait wasn't the Car Czar a White Guy?  I think he was.

Yep.  Ron Bloom.  White Guy.

Ford Chief Technical Officer Paul Mascarenas, center, shows off the automaker's electric car battery to Sen. Debbie Stabenow and Ron Bloom, President Obama's Senior Counselor for Manufacturing Policy at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011.

...Ron Bloom, car czar for the Obama adminstration, says the federal government is looking to sell of its remaining shares of General Motors as quickly as possible, and personally, he's looking to buy a new Dodge Durango.

That's not to say he's playing favorites.

GM launched its initial public stock offering in November, allowing the federal government to recoup another $13.6 billion from the 2009 bailout. To date, the Treasury has recovered almost half of the $49.5 billion it invested.

As it stands, the government retains a 37 percent stake in GM, but speaking with reporters Tuesday during a tour of the Detroit auto show, Bloom said the Treasury is looking to get out of the business all together....

Well, hell and tar-nation how come President Obama could not find a White Guy to run the Green Jobs Program for the Inner City?  I hold him responsible for not finding a White Guy and therefore the failure of the program.  Absolutely.  I mean just because he is the President and believes he has to follow some "Equal Opportunity" principle that is the law of the land doesn't he know yet that isn't the way Washington works?
