Eastern Canada meet Florence.

Easy to say now, but, I actually thought it would be Newfoundland where Florence would make landfall but I didn't want to take the chance that very populous areas of the East Coast would not take the 'storm surge' seriously and people would die. I think that is a very good point. When Katrina made landfall it was a Cat 3 and it wasn't a direct hit on New Orleans, yet the storm surge affects included vast flooding due to other bodies of water and the canals. Every city with bodies of water needs to be aware of storm surges even though they are not directly in the path of a major storm.

Currently, cities such as Boston and New York City experience considerable flooding when storms are not nearly the strength of a tropical drepression, just imagine if a storm like Florence came very close to their shorelines.

Preparedness. It's no joke. Take all these storms very seriously. Especially with escalating sea level rise.
