October 18, 2005. 0930 z. Before sunrise. Same horizontal pattern. The storm in the Caribbean is for real. It's going places. There is a matching low pressure system in the Pacific with nearly the same latitude as there was for the other major storms. The storm in the Pacific currently has winds of 30 knots compared to "Wilma's" 60 knots. It's a developing oscillation that helps stabilize (creates a counter balance across the land mass of North America) the larger system.on it's path. When the larger system is reaching landfall the 'energy/heat' from the smaller system is absorbed giving landfall that little bit of extra energy to maintain it's 'water borne' status just that little bit longer. The Pacific storm is currently called Tropical Depression 16 E. There is promises of another slightly south but closer to "Wilma." Posted by Picasa
